Re: Essex Girls!

Hi Helen - how spooky! I am going to a wedding at the Ivory rooms the next day, plus my mate is treating me to a ticket for my birthday for the 'posh do' at Stock Brook Manor.

Have written the names down of the constipation bits, going to Tesco now to see what they have.

Good luck Julie tomorrow, I am sure it will go ok.

Sharon.Bas glad they deem you sane enough to have your tit off! That sounds sooooooo wrong!

Tesco then a night of darts on the TV - fab!

Re: Essex Girls!

Me again, brain like a sieve!!

Don't know if any one is interested but a friend of a friend works for Helen Rollason as a Fundraiser and has two events coming up that I said I would help promote for her as it is in a good cause and one that is close to all our hearts, plus it's a good excuse to have a night out and get dressed up.

The first is a Casino Royale night on Friday 26 June at 8pm in the Ivory Rooms, Laindon Road, Billericay. Tickets are £15 which include a buffet and £50 worth of fun money to spend.

The second is a Ball at the Stock Brook Manor on Saturday 31 October and tickets will be about £40-45 which includes a nice meal and entertainment, tickets not yet on sale but worth marking in your diary if you fancy it.

If anyone is interested let me know at the meeting on 15 April, it would be lovely to get a group of ladies together, or you can bring the men along if you fancy it?!

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi all

Ew Daisy, you poor thing - what a horrible thing to happen, glad you are ok now. I was recommend Lactulose which is a liguid from Boots for constipation and it worked for me! Lots of water, fruit and fibre helps too & if you can get a bit of exercise (don't mean an hour down the gym but a walk helps). I have resided myself to the fact that my bodily functions are only normal for one week out of three - still it's not forever eh!

Hope everyone else is ok, haven't posted as much just lately as I've been making the most of catching up with friends and have been out quite a bit. Must stop eating out so much but seem to be constantly hungry. Doc said my periods would stop and I seem to be seeing them every 4-6 weeks at the moment, does anyone know if Zoladex will stop them altogether?

Hi to Lily, Tracey, Sharon, Flora, Sharon.Bas - been following your thread, hope you are ok and soon get your surgery sorted out. Julie -will text you tomorrow but Good Luck anyway. The first is the most scary, can't believe I am in for number 4 on Tuesday. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

Take care all

Re: Essex Girls!

Morning all - just to say, all is well, watched footie last night, and then slept like a baby until the Police helicopter decided to hover over my house for ages. That sent the dogs mental, I was tempted to hold up a sign telling them to sod off, but thought that unwise!

Will get some Senna today, is it liquid or tablets? Also going to eat cardboard, sorry, I mean Bran Flakes every day.

It was scary, but thankfully over with quickly. Shaking like a polaroid picture wasn't fun!

Love to all and any anti poo-pebble tips, send them my way!

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi everyone,
Tracey just sent you a pm. Fantastice news, well done.
Daisy oh yuk poor you. Had my fair share of emergencies and had to have piriton for the last 8 doses so know how scarey that can be, especially when on your own. They will probably make you have piriton evry time now or change the jabs. Piriton made me really sleepy, almost used to slide out of the chair unless I had my feet up, in the unit. It gets me really fast iv. You need to talk to us about constipation, you never had so many experts, lol. Get some senna tablets and take them evry night if you haven't been and can also get dulcoeases to keep things soft. Sorry to be so basic but you can really get into trouble if you don't react quickly enough. Anyway hopefully that crisis is over and you can get back to normalish! Julie big hugs for your first chemo and you will be glad to get one over with. Hope it all goes well for you. Sharonbas hope you get what you want on Thursday and op soon done and dusted.
Take care everyone

Re: Essex Girls!

Daisy! poor you, that must of been very frightening for you. Glad you are feeling better now hopefully it won't happen again. I take it you were on your own at the time, I hate it when I feel ill and there's no one around, at least hubby got to you quick. You might find chemo knocks your periods on the head! I didn't have one at all whilst on it and haven't since, but then I'm on Zoladex now. Not something I miss one iota thank you very much.
SharonC, glad you have been declared sane! more than I can say for me! is surgery going ahead next week? glad you are feeling a little better about it, it's not easy I know.
Julie, will be thinking of you and good luck for first chemo tomorrow.
Helen, hope you are doing okay.
Love to everyone

Re: Essex Girls!

Oh dear, this morning was going really well, then it all went horribly wrong. Was moments away from calling an ambulance.

Felt fine all day, then all of a sudden I had the upset tummy from hell. Wasn't sick but felt it, couldnt move off the loo and started to sweat to the point where it was rolling down my face. Called Ken, he got here within 20 mins, I was then violently shaking and had gone blue.

Phoned the hospital who said to take my temp which was 35.5 and to get me in the bath NOW. I was shaking so hard, it really, really scared me. Then I went red and spotty from top to toe in about a minute. Hosp made me take a Pireton and stay in the bath, shaking stopped and temp got up to 36.deg. they got Ken to check things on me, can't remember what as I was out of it.

Within 10 mins the red started to fade and I warmed up. Got out of the bath, got into bed, temperature rose to normal and I felt fine!

Seemingly it was an allergic reaction to possibly the jabs (last one was this morning), plus I had not been to the loo since Thursday and was so constipated, that my tummy just couldn't cope and my body went into shock. Who knows?

VERY scary, VERY horrible yet, I feel great now! Am drinking lots of water.

Tummy is very tender, plus I am expecting a period at some point having not been allowed my contraceptive injection. My last period was 9 yrs ago, so I am not looking forward to this one - I just wish it would start.

Anyway, heres to a good day tomorrow. Ken is off now and all next week.

Re: Essex Girls!

Still ok!

Yesterday I thought I had been hit by a bus, or was it a train, and used it as an excuse to stay in bed and do bugger all. Today I feel fine. Bones are achy, but I am getting used to that now!

My hot water bottle and bath are my new best friends, as is ASDA value lemon & lime juice.

Will be in touch again soon, hopefully still feeling fine & dandy.

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi,
well at least I can get out of my hen night cossie and go back to cutie animals, now our friend is a married lady! Daisy I remember the mediterranean tan well and got it every time. People always said I looked well with it and then it suddenly goes and the rest starts. I always looked well when I felt i could do with the most sympathy and vice versa. You do crash down when you stop them though. You are coping well with the jabs.
Sharonbas don't worry, just come on her and let it out. We are so much more available than the shrink. How strange that it is someone you know and glad it is soon, now you have had a change of heart. Let us know how you get on.
Sharon2 is chappy back to school and better? Hope so and can we meet?

Hi all

thank you for your kind comments.
Daisy enjoy some rest after your steroid mania, the goody bag after chemo tends to be quite impressive and grows each time.
Tracey hope your cough gets better soon, hows the wig holding up?
Sharon2 hope you are sleeping better thanks for advice
Lily it would great to meet you, keep fingers crossed for you at check up.
Flora time to relax enjoy planning next holiday. you have helped me a lot.
Julie how are you I hope the last drain did the trick and the pain is better.
I have had a braintransplant I think. from someone who found it difficult to contemplate a mx, I now want it off as soon as poss, dont qiite know how i am going to explain that to my bcn or convince the psych, but i will be ringing bcn tomorrow to try and reinstate op dont hold out much hope. surely I am not the only one to go through such swings of emotion.
keep your fingers crossed I can convince them I am sane

Thanks again for listening and helping

Re: Essex Girls!

Sounds like your'e doing really well Daisy, so pleased to hear it. First one done and crossed off, well done! Good that you managed to get some sleep and that you are coping with the injections. How was the 'rave' think I could hear you from my house!

I have been wondering if I'm supposed to having hot flushes or anything on the Zoladex, because I'm getting none - infact I've been freezing cold all weekend. At least I have finally shaken off this cold, but now have a lovely tickly cough.

Sharon C, sorry to hear that your surgeon has cancelled the op, you'd think he would at least discussed it with you first. I hope it will all get resolved.

Hope everyone okay and had a good weekend.

Take care

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi all - had another good day yesterday, except the steroids made me soooooooooo alert! The body was saying, sleep, the brain was mentally sorting through the wardrobe! Steroids all done for now.

Had a stroll over Chelmer Village to get a few bits, and slept like a baby last night.

Son was working at Hylands House today for the council's Play scheme, so me and hubby had some brekkie. Came back, and hopped into bed for a while (me...not us!). Just had lunch and all is well.

I have taken on a reddish tinge and look so bloody well! Look's like I have been on a beach! ha ha if only!

Injections going in just fine, 3 more of them left, no bruising or complaints .............so far! Don't worry, I am under no illusion that the honeymoon peroid will hit a snag at some point, but while it's, good, I am not complaining!

Thanks for all the good wishes, going to have a soak in the bath.

Love to all.....Sharon x

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi Daisy,
well done, one down and I think the first is def the scariest. You will be an old hand from now on. Soooo glad that the Se have not kicked in yet and hope you are one of the lucky ones. Brilliant that the veins were co-operating too, long may that last.Don't forget to be very careful when your neuts shoot down at the end of next week and keep out of crowded places and away from sniffy kids!! They whisk you into hospital if they even get a glimpse of a bug. I was always being ordered to goto have my blood checked. Sharon2 got dragged off and they wouldn't let her out of hospital for ages. Not meaning to alarm you but just remember how vulnerable you can be. I used to just switch off the alarm and sleep and be awake whenever my body wanted. So often up all night or wandering around and going back to bed in the early hours.
Take care

Re: Essex Girls!

Well, so far so good! No problems at all yesterday. Worst bit was having a numb bum from sitting down so long! In at 11.30, seen about 11.50, out at 5.00. Would have been earlier but nurse forgot to order the Tax before she went to lunch!

Veins fine, no side effects during treatment, no sickness (so far) and managed to inject myself this morning without a hitch - 4 left! The steroids are a pain, body is tired, brain is alert. Last lot tonight though.

I have half of Boots The Chemist in the cupboard ready for anything the body decides needs a helping hand!

Have a good weekend everyone and I will keep you posted.

Hi,
sharonbas I am really sorry to hear that your op was cancelled and I think it is very unkind to do that without talking to you first. However it WILL be nice if we can all meet up.Take care and let all those emotions out online whenever you want, we will all understand where you are right now x.
Daisy hope today went ok and that you were not hanging around for yonks and that you have fat veins for the cannula! Keep a diary of your symptoms so that for the next 5 cycles you know when to expect to rest, take senna, eat eggs, buy lemonade, eat ginger cake or whatever works for you. Really hope you managed ok x.I used to do jigsaws when I got the steroid buzz as it kept the mad brain busy but the tired body could just sit still.
Tracey as IF I would try to flash them in Debenhams!!! Will ring you re a meet up, or ring me if I don't as got a bit of a pea brain with so much to do at school right now. Sharon2 hope little chap is on the mend and didn't get you too if a germy thing. Are work still being helpful? My bank account gave me continual travel insurance but it excludes a claim for Bc treatment for the first year. There are a number of firms doing it though. Flora fab news that you got on ok on Friday, well done. I am starting to have a wobble about my mammos in a fortnight and keep prodding my scar tissue anxiously!Check ups always worry me.

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi Everyone

Had latest onc appt last Friday and all ok so another one done. Time to plan my next holiday.

Daisy - I had eight steroids to take for the three days. Did not make me to hyper but made sure did not have second lot too late. Took them before 6 on evening. I presume you still want the hair stuff. I will pm with my no so that i can arrange to bring it round to you. Hope today went ok. Monday is likely to be the worst day and hope like the others of us that you are not too sick on TAC. Good luck with the injections, fine once you get the hang of it and it shouldn't hurt.

Sharon - hope Jack is feeling better. Enjoy this time at home before going back to work. How's th blond hair coming along? Are you and Tracey betting to see who goes wigless first!

Helen - glad you seem to be coping well with chemo and side effects no worse.

Tracey - hope you have got rid of your cold. The convict style will soon grow. I can go out in this wind now hair standing on end and just flatten back indoors. I used to hate it before as hair would go all over the place and really messy. Its all a new experience.

Lily - I see you are still up at all hours. I bet you are looking forward to the hols and your holiday. Helps you to feel that things are returning to normal if there is such a thing!!

Julie - hope you are continuing to feel better and ready for next
week.

Good luck to all you others coming up for treatment and hope to see at least some of you for our next meet or at support group.

Time to get my old Acid House Party CD's out of the loft! I thought my time spent in fields with sweaty strangers (now look.,...no rude comments please!)at parties was long over! ......Accciiiidddd.....

Moonshine, i'll sell you one...£5 a pop. ha ha. Don't worry about cleaning, as long as the dust isn't causing anyone to reach for an inhaler, then it isn't dusty!

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi everyone,
how are you all? Helen hope you are getting over the latest dive down the dark hole and coming back up to enjoy yourself. How many more to go? I will miss the support group and seeing everyone as going away, can we meet during the first week please? Sorry to hear they have a moody person there. Just wait till you see the receptionist at the rads unit. She could turn you to stone with her miserable face. Daisy big hugs for Friday and make sure you eat and drink a lot that day. Your wee goes pink/red on epi immediately so you can tell when you have weed it out your system.LOL. I used to get mine out that same night as it irritates the bladder. Rads is 3 weeks after chemo and to be honest by the last one you will probably need it. The prof likes his 3 week changes, to do with keeping you protected. You may get the rads planning appointment before that and when you go they will put you on hormones and give you all your appointments, already booked. They take about a week or 2 at the most to plan your rads treatment, depending on how complicated it is. They tell you to take 3 weeks minimum off after rads. Anyway thinking of you on Friday, who is taking you? Room can be cool with the air con so have a few layers as the next time you go it is the opposite! Def see Claire for reflexology to relieve the boredom of waiting for them to get to you. Sometimes it is quite quick and other times you can be there for 2 hours and not have got out the waiting room. Lally hope Springfield are treating you well. I guess myocet is not a NHS drug as I have not heard of anyone else on it, good for you. Sorry I won't get to the meeting but hope to catch up with you for our next eat up or the time after.I used the cold cap for 4 doses of epi and then stopped when I went on to CMF as it does not make your hair fall out. Mine got very thin on top, like a monk.LOL. The good thing was I had a pixie cut before I even finished chemo and never actually wore my wigs because the thin bit filled in really quickly. Try wearing a wig (beaver)on your head in the summer!! The others had sweat dripping off their heads some days. Why don't you see how you go?Our unit don't really push the coldcap but other posters say their areas spray their hair so it is wet before they start and that the success rate is over 80%. Personal decision. I was more anxious about losing my hair than the actual chemo drugs - for me, keeping some hair helped me to cope with all the other changes. Good luck with your decision. DebsH well done for getting another one over with and hope you are not too bad on this one. Hi Tracey, yup marking for England! I do what I hope others do for my kids? I hear snippets about you from your daughter, not directly but when she is talking to others. I think she is still sizing me up, will I dob to Mum??? I am raising money for Helen Rollason by collecting old mobile phones and they are all excited about doing this. Hope she was ok with it. Also hope O is starting to get back to normal. So I guess you will be the one baring all when we meet so we can check out the butch convict stubble.LOL you have such a way with words!! If it is not someone chucking their wig off, it is Sharon2 getting them out!! Wouldn't catch me doing that!! Miss you guys please can we meet soon x x ? Rads make some people very tired, I just caught fire. How is the heat on yours? Hope the cold shifts soon. Everyone seems to get a big cold just when it is all done - really annoying. Sharon c, well we all need the shrink so maybe you can give us some tips and sort us lot out too. We must get you more heavy calorie foods as that is the best cure. Big hugs for getting through all this, it will be fine.If you right click and copy before hitting submit, you can click and paste to get it back when the thread eats your post. Does it to me every single time. Flora how are things with you?
Huge post, hope I got everyone

Hi Everyone,
this is the second time i've written this did not seem to come up so I will write again,
best wishes for todays treatment Debs and hope the tour is useful Daisy.
I have been rather tired last few days and somewhat emotional. I went for my pre op assessment yesterday and I thought I was ok but ended up weeping and wailing so much so staff got my breast care nurse to come and speak with me, she does not think I am coping very well and is worried about me so she and my onc have referred me to a psychiatrist, Oh dear, well I hope they have prosthesis pockets in their straight jackets, I'll let you know how i get on. Had some reflexology today, my first time, very relaxing.
Hi Lally hope you make the meeting you will welcomed warmly, I went to my first last month and found it very helpful and comforting. Wont be able to make next one as only 11 days after my surgery, unless a miricle happens.
Hi Tracey , sorry to hear you are still snotty nosed, you could try tying little pink bows in the hair to bring out your feminine side lol. I have been sneezing a lot too but I think it is hayfever that
would be new for me too.
Hope you all get to meet up for a good meal

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi all, Lally nice to hear from you and hope the chemo's not been too harsh with the SE's. Lily used the cold cap and had some thinning and used to wear a very wide hairband which worked well. Still maybe with your new hats you will feel better about it, I love hats!
Helen, sorry you had a miserable chemo nurse, I have been trying to think who it was? Good job you complained, Lisa V won't put up with any of that. Hope you get star treatment next time.
Daisy good luck for chemo this week and to Julie for next week. Hope the seroma is going at last Julie.
Debs, thinking of you for chemo today and hope they can reassure you about some of your worries x.
SharonC, how you doing? not long to op now, soon be over with, hope you are feeling better about it.
Sharon2, sorry you are not sleeping well, think like you say it's probably side effect of Tamoxifen or the Zoladex.
Lovely Lily, hope you are not tiring yourself out with all that marking.
Fabulous Flora, hope you are okay.
My hair is growing back, quite thick but no length to it yet. Some people look okay with it this short, but GI Jane I am not. I look more like a butch convict! So wiggy still around, which is becoming matted and I have cut it a bit shorter (not very even, but past caring) so will have to stick with it a bit longer. Can't seem to shake this cold off and still feeling very tired one week post rads.
Love to all, hope I haven't forgotton anyone.

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi Everyone, hope you are all doing okay!!

Daisy, just wondered what time you were due up the chemo unit for your look around... I am there today at 2 for treatment... may see you there.

Lally, had taxetere a few years ago... not too bad, did not lose my hair due to the cold cap which was well worth it. All good wishes for your treatment.

Take care everyone

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi Lally, sorry you've been feeling a bit ropey, me too.....good and bad days! The cool cap....Mmmmm well I was dead set on having it before my treatment started but at my chemo assessment was told that is only 60% effective, so you could go through the proceedure and then lose your hair, or it could thin anyway.

For me, I opted out of it on the morning that my chemo started (mainly because I didn't want to spend anymore time than I had to at the chemo suite), it was the right decision for me. I have a lovely wig and feel quite confident in it when I go out. I know some of the other ladies in the group have had the cool cap and it worked for them so I honestly think it is a really personal decision. There is a lady having chemo at the same time as me and she is having the cool cap and mentioned 'frost bite' on her ears - ouch! Try and get all the info you can before you make your decision. You could always give it a go and then abandon it if you aren't getting along with it!

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all keeping well
Take care

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi there ,

Thought it was about time I chipped in again...I always read this thread ( in fact its the only one I bother to read!) Anyway I've decided that I will fianally come along on the 15th at meet you all in the flesh!!

I'm half way through chemo at Springfield, I've had 4 lots of myocet and have got 4 lots of taxotere to look forward to!! ( bit scared of that as it sounds even tougher). I have been a bit ropey on Myocet but agreed this time to take dexamethasone ( steriod) this time and it has really helped. Feeling a bit fat etc but suppose its worth it! My hair ( whats left) is driving me mad...and I wouldn't mind your honest opinions on whether or not I should forget the cold cap ( it is starting to look like old lady hair and I worry that it makes me look poorly....?)

I've got loads of questions for you all but think I will save it till I meet you all..
love to you all, keep writing coz I love reading about your experiences , good and bad. Off to buy new bloody hat!!

Re: Essex Girls!

mmmm.....3 week wait after chemo before radio?????? I am thinking a little holiday may be in order. My Dad lives in Gran Canaria, so it might be visitng time! HOLA..

I was hoping to go straight onto RADS. That way I would be done by Aug 7th (my 40th is Mon 10th) and I didn't want to spend it in Colchester! Oh well, will just have to wait and see.

Cheers for all the info...wind, bum squirts and poo pebbles..oh the joy of chemo.

Off now to try and fathom out how to use the new washer/dryer.

Love to all.

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi All

Thanks for asking Sharon C, I'm much better today, had a moan to the lady in charge at the chemo unit about the miserable chemo nurse (don't be put off Daisy - most of the nurses are lovely) she took the complaint seriously and said that from now on it's the hot bucket of water for me, (to ensure they get a vein! If that doesn't work it'll be the other arm which I am reluctant as I've had lymph nodes removed (they've insured me it'll be ok, but i'm not too happy about the idea) or a port inserted in my chest, which I don't fancy either - what a choice eh? Feeling a lot better, veins aren't so painful today, I'm just tired and have over-done it a few times this week and have paid the price.

Daisy - I've been told it'll be 3 weeks after my last chemo when the rads start, not sure if everyone is the same. Good luck with the chemo on Friday, once I had a look around I just wanted to get on with it. You have the right attitude towards it. My side effects have been pretty consistant each time - sick the evening of chemo and during that night, two good days when I am taking the steroids, bit of a slump on the third day and then nausea, tiredness, oral thrush, constipation and awful wind (thought I'd share that with you)for the next two weeks!!!! . But you may well be fine and sail through it, everyone is different.

Washed one of my wigs for the first time last night as it's been about 3 weeks, got a bit panicky..........it looked like a dead rat in the sink but thankfully it dried ok and and looks fine today - phew!!!!!!!!

Lily - just realised we have a support group meeting on 15th April so I'll get to meet with everyone in the second week of the Easter holidays anyway(I know you can't make that week though). You never know I may be perfectly ok after chemo and be able to meet you all for a meal the first week??!!

Julie, I'll give you a call, hope you are ok and getting that pain under wraps!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all keeping well

Take care

Hi Daisy
sorry cant answer your question, as I had my chemo Arse about face ie before my surgery. prehaps it was all those Bas Vagas Vibes that broke the machine, hope you had a good night. Chemo was no problem to me plently of rest and deaing with the pooing and poss thrush. but you are well looked after during Chemo. hope you will be fine. everyone is more supportive when you are having chemo in my experience. lots of luck.

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi ladies

CT scan today...and broke the machine! 20 min scan turned into an hour....oops....should get results in a week. Got the other scan at some point, seemingly they are very busy - well so am I!!

Back Wednesday for the 'tour' and 20 questions, then chemo Friday. Am not really bothered about it, just want to get on with it now.

Will note the good/bad days and see what side effects I have, then complain about them!

I know its jumping the gun, but, what sort of gap is there between the last chemo and the start of rads?

Love to all & keep smiling

Re: Essex Girls!

Hi,
hope you were mostly able to enjoy the sunny weather. Daisy just wanted to say good luck and thinking of you next week when you start chemo. I never got any side effects until day 4 but others get them quite quickly. Hope you manage to sail through this bit, some people do. If you note down when the side effects start and any problems, it helps you to feel more in control on the following ones. Simple stuff like knowing when you need to start eating tons of fibre or not depending if you get the quick drying cement trouble or the trots! I had both, fab! Anyway try to stay calm if you can and everystep is a step towards finishing it. Helen so sorry you felt yuk on the new tablets.I can't do the second week, we might have to have 2 meets. I also have annual mammos and an appointment with the genetics clinic nurse in the first week, so a bit busy. Tracey hope you don't need a fire extinguisher to put your chest out and that your cold soon goes. Sharon2 hope things are working out as you planned with your job.
Hi everyone else, Sharonbas, Flora, Julie. Hope you are all keeping well.

Re: Essex Girls!

Hello everyone

Sorry I missed the meeting last night, I didn't feel too bad and half thought I might be able to make it, but fell asleep until 9pm! Well I'm halfway there - thank God!!! Had a nightmare with my veins, after 4 attempts and then siting with my arm in a bucket of HOT water and four hours later they finally found a vein and gave me the chemo!! Chemo nurse wasn't very cheery either - miserable moo, think I was a major inconvenience to her! They changed my anti-sickness drugs but they just made me feel awful and I wish I'd have just done the usual throwing up thing for a few hours. Anyhow it's all done now, next one is on 7th April all being well.

Congratulations to Sharon & Tracey for completing the rads! Bet you will steer clear of the A12 for a while?! Hope you enjoyed the celebrations after.

Julie, you seem like you are doing really well. Glad you enjoyed the Headstrong thing in Southend, what a bargain those scarves were! One of the BCN mentioned getting Headstrong to one of our meetings, wonder if she had any luck with that? Would be interested in getting a couple at that price. Good luck for the assessment at the chemo unit, I know once I'd had a look around I just wanted to get started and get it out the way. The Wig place is called Studio Nine, 9 Queens Road, Southend, if you park in Sainsbury's car park it is only 5 mins walk away - the lady Chris is lovely.

Daisy, sounds like you need a rest after all those lovely little darlings at school! Good luck for your first chemo on 27th. Enjoy the vino while you can, I haven't touched a drop since starting chemo, can't bear the thought of it - not sure if that's a good thing or not, I usually love a drop of red when I'm cooking!

Hello to Flora, Lily, Angela, anyone else I haven't already mentioned - and of course the new ladies on-line, hope to meet you all at the next meeting or if we meet up beforehand.

Lily, I can do anytime the second week apart from Tuesday 14th as it's my Mum's birthday and seeing as she's been looking after me and my little'n during the chemo weeks - I hope to take her out. Look forward to hearing from you when something is arranged.

Love to all, keep well

Re: Essex Girls!

SharonC, sorry I didn't get to say goodbye last night! think I was busy chatting to bcn when you went. I have now come out with a stinking cold and hope I haven't given it to you lot! Can't believe I got through months of tx without being ill and as soon as I finish, I am!
Had 2nd Zoladex yesterday and if no problems will have the 3 month one next time, which is even bigger, think I might be asking for a local for that one.
Hope you are all well and those on chemo are not havin to rough a time.
Tracey xx
