I had invasive breast cancer 3 years ago. I had a lumpectomy, SNB, radiotherapy and letrozole tablets. My treatment was planned to last 5 years. All went well until my 3rd follow up mammogram this year. An area of high grade DCIS (plus a further suspicious area) was discovered. I’ve recently had both areas removed via WLE (plus SNB as some of the high grade area may have tried to ‘make a break for it’ apparently?)
Anyway- my question is:
Will I start again on the 5 yearly mammogram/check up programme from this year?
I’ll obviously ask this question when I go for my results appt next week - but just thought I’d ask here first in case anyone has been in a similar situation?
