Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

I'm busy building another bench for Benchland, it's the Responsible Pet Owner bench. A long story but children have been on at me to get a pet to keep me company for ages.  And I've wondered about getting a cat but put the thoughts aside.  Daughter came to mine the other day saying she had sorted my belated birthday present.  It was a kitten!  She didn't just land me with it, she showed me pics on the internet. He was very cute but his parents were a breed that I don't like (they have strange big ears!).  So he was not for me. But her thought made me really think again so...........Daughter is buying me a kitten for my birthday.

I'M GETTING A KITTEN!!  I'll have to wait until a suitable one comes up  After all the years of saying no, I'm saying yes.  I'm excited now, will be buying cat things tomorrow. Need to get ready!  Watch this space......

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

DO YOU KNOW WHERE (oops! Don't need to shout, FF's sound is fixed! :p) you're going on holiday this time, Katy? Hehehe

Had a meeting with the boss today. I was VERY surprised to discover that I'm keeping all of my 31.5 hours a week, so my pay cut won't be as drastic as I feared. Each of those hours will be paid less, obviously, but I was expecting to lose at least 4 hours a week as all the other "full time" TAs only get paid for 27 or 28 hpw. Most of the time, I'll be supporting in the Y6 class - (last year's Y6 were awful and this is the other particularly "difficult" class.). I'm keeping the responsibility for the library, which will be better used, and as I won't have marking on a regular basis, I should have more - paid - time to maintain it! They also want me to continue to run a homework club after school, and possibly one at lunchtime for the 'bus children'. I shall be expected to do before school booster sessions for the Y6 when it gets closer to SATs too (I did those voluntarily after the head went off sick last year, so being paid for it is a bonus!) I don't think I'll get to do the website any more - new head seems to want to do that herself. Hey ho. But at least I can't be blamed for what is/isn't on it?! 🙂

Had the 4/5 class today. The dance people came into teach them for half the afternoon. I joined in! You'd have been impressed. Then I taught French for the second half. Oui. Moi. Teaching Francais!! Who'd have thought? Just 1 or 2 silly boys, so much less stressful than last year.

Soooo tired. The first week back is always a killer. Then, at 2pm, the (new) office manager came grovelling to me begging for me to cover the after school club because the usual lady had been sent home ill. Brain said NOOOOO! but mouth said "OK" but I managed to inject enough reluctance into it to illicit many grateful thanks and apologies. 12 noisy children looked after for 2 1/2 hours and fed toast and squash. 2 hours overtime can be claimed so that'll help to bring the paypacket back up nearer previous level! May have to cover tomorrow too.

Dragged myself off to swimming, I was determined to go. Not been since early July! Only managed 60 lengths, but at least I managed not to drown. Very glad I made the enormous effort to go, because there was no music, and I was the only one in the pool for the last 10 minutes, so it was lovely. 🙂

I *accidentally* bought some chocolate covered raisins on my way in to the pool. In aid of Air Ambulance. Almost compulsory? Chocolate (from cocoa BEANS) and raisins constitute 2 of my 5 a day? Just had half (ok, most) of the packet with some muesli. Yum! 😄

I discovered recently that a nearby water ski centre we sometimes visit, because it has nice walks around the lakes, does actual open water swimming sessions. On a Thursday! I quite fancy the idea, but maybe not now. Too cold. Would definitely need a wetsuit, preferably fur lined, and that would NOT be a pretty sight?!😨 I bet it's full of all over zealous, competitive, sporty types too?? 😐

Time to get my hair dry and fall into bed. Kn*****ed! Friday tomorrow!!!! 🙂 🙂

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Glad your teaching has been reduced, I was a bit worried they wouldn't keep their promise to you.  A nice class? Good. One hour? Good. Has the horrible class left? Were they year six?  Anyway good for you, will your time be spent on the website and the library now?  So many questions, sorry! Smiley Embarassed  I hope you start to look forward to going in now.

My school, still nice and clean from the hols, so not too much hard work yet.  One of the children pointed out a cobweb that I had missed.  A 6 yr old looking for cobwebs?  I needed a ladder and a brush with an extendable handle for that one.  At least the staff hadn't noticed Smiley Wink

I've got the sound back on my laptop, I tried your suggestions girls, but no.  So I finally phoned my go to guy and he came round tonight.  His usual easy fixes didn't work so he tried other things and got it working. Then said he didn't know how he'd done it!  Cost me £10.  He apologised for keeping me waiting for a day, I said another day was not a problem as it had been off for nine months!!  Maybe I'll get the oven fixed next as that went wrong three months ago and all it needs is a new element.........or maybe that'll take another month or two but I am now missing my pizzas!  (Note to self..phone oven guy!)

Been a lovely day here just a little bit of drizzle now and again.........but the forecast for tomorrow and Saturday is horrendous.  Rain, rain, wind, more rain, weather coming down from your neck of the woods Katy?

Next years holiday is where?

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Glad you had an ok day JCJ, only one hour a week that will certainly reduce stress levels dramatically, fingers crossed.

FF, hope back calms down asap, enjoy your books!!

Have GC the next couple of days, other Grandparents are sharing so one night here, one night there, ED and OH are off for two days, birthday treatSmiley Happy!

We booked next year's holiday, woo hoo, always do it online but had to phone them this time, was on phone for nearly 2 hours, WHAT?? Systems crashing etc etc but all doneSmiley Happy

Yucky day here, rain, rain and more rain................xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Monday: training day. Same old. Same old.

Yesterday - kids in. Day not as hideous as expected: everyone on their best "new start" behaviour - let's hope it lasts more than just the first day!! My teaching commitment is massively reduced, as promised: just one afternoon, with a nice class. Half the afternoon they'll have PE with a visiting coach,  a so I only have them for an hour on my own, and I've been promised they'll "pay the difference" for that hour!! We'll see. Still not been told what my new contact is, despite asking for a meeting, but I've been assured we'll meet "before the end of the week!"

Did NOT want to get up this morning. Stood in the shower for aaaages. Couldn't get out! So tired. Already! 😞

Back is now in it's usual state of neither good nor bad. Just the usual niggly. Normal service resumed, no more painkillers. School fine tonight but the children are back tomorrow and the new KS2 teacher has pots of glitter paint on her desk........I'm fearful.......

Been to Library today, more books to read, more tennis to watch, what more could I want?

Love giraffe so cute and a new baby, lovelySmiley Happy!

Is your back better today FF?

Congrats to your son, woo hoo, and GD's new job!

Hope you managed to sleep well, get up ok JCJ and your day has been fine.

Yep it is expensive but their sales are usually reasonable and clothes last forever.

Phoned YD this morning and she was "all vague" when I asked her how she was feeling, what a twit, haha, once she had been sick she was fine.

ED now has her timetable, all fine until Oct then will be a busy Nannie placement time.

Duvet set now looks yellowy so have no idea what colour it is???

Book is "my husband's wife".

Had my muggachoc, battled through torrential rain to get there, then into town where rain stayed off, bought more healthy things today, have been spoiling myself for aaaaaaaaages, so have managed 5 a day today, well one was strawberries with a little dash of cream, NOT, a bucket more like xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

School today, back to going in late afternoon instead of mornings.  Teachers didn't make much mess (for once). Did one of my last summer jobs, haven't hoovered, I'll do that after they make more mess tomorrow and the school will be ready, clean and sorted for the start of term on Weds..

Still watching the blue tennis. As so many of the top names are not there, it's different and other players are making their mark.  A  peek into the future?  Some really good youngsters!

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

"Subsequent" had me pondering for a while too! 🙂 Got it now.

I looked at the website for the shop you recommended, KTC - can't think of a cryptic clue at the moment. Oh, anagram of "od Ben". I'm afraid my reaction was "HOW MUCH?? S** THAT!!" £70 for a nothing-special blouse??? No, no, no, no, no: I could get at least 5 tops for that much! (Cheapskate? Moi? :p)

Alarm set. Clothes ready. Will attempt to go to bed at a sensible time for 7am get up, but I've not managed to get to sleep before at least 2am any night for the last week or more. Tomorrow is going to be tough! I hate getting back into routine in September! 😞

Gerald the Giraffe finished just as the holiday ends. Here he is posing by my new curtains (which are much greener in 'the flesh' than the photo shows. They are Teal.)

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Subsequent?  Ok, that took me a minute but I've got it!  Glad you like it.  What is the book?  Hope YD soon recovers and enjoys her holiday.

I'm ok, arm recovered, hip recovered but back still a problem - ok whilst at home but will need painkillers for school tomorrow. Would like to give up housework......but it's not possible.  Will take more care though.

Family hadn't arranged a meet up, which was good as I would have been out.Smiley Very Happy  Daughter did however drop in this afternoon as she had had enough of her children and said to SIL "they're all yours" and walked out for a break.  She brought me up to date with family life.  Eldest GD has a new job, just working out her notice now.

Rang Son tonight as I haven't heard from him this week, most unusual, told me he's passed the English and Maths exams he was studying for....YAY Smiley Happy  A proud Mummy needs a bigger hat!

Better to give up FF, hope things are calming down.

A hole, geez JCJ???

Bought a new duvet set from "subsequent", it arrived on Fri and I just opened package there, it is a different colour than anticipated, more green than yellow, I like it so all ok haha.

YD has landed safely but is feeling a little sick, not the flight but the taxi ride to hotel, she's always been carsick, poor thing.

Am enjoying new book, not sure what's what so far?? Like when story is not obvious and has you guessing.

Out for muggachoc tomorrow, then quick dash into town, then quicker dash back home, hee hee xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Housework and cooking. Both too dangerous. 😛

My leg is fine - just a small hole. Not painful any more. Hope your injuries continue to improve, FF, and your feet aren't too ouchy, KTC.

Been out to a large town park today. Packed with people and it made me realise that I've managed 6 weeks, up until today, encountering very few children!! Wish they came with volume controls (or even silencers?) We had a sandwich lunch from a kiosk and then a nice walk in the parkland and woods, with several sit downs on handy benches, followed by tea (we brought a flask and teabags!) and homemade apple cake by the car. OH wanted to stay out and get dinner in a pub, or get pizza, but I was in a strange mood and just wanted to come home. The last time I was in that park was when I parked there to get the train to Hereford the last time I saw my sister. A lot of memories came flooding back, unexpectedly, as I drove into the park. :'(

Just microwaved some jacket potatoes and shoved homemade chilli (from freezer) and cheese on top. Quick and delicious with a generous side salad. Glad we came home - better than a mediocre pizza or a crap*y carvery?! And NO PEOPLE!! 🙂 I think I'm turning into a hermit.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

I was actually hoovering the stairs at the time of the incident, sometimes I do do housework but if it's going to prove so dangerous I may give it up Smiley Tongue

Glad you are feeling better, I am too but back is still bothersome.

School - finished off the jobs I wanted to do. Teachers have been in so another hoover of the carpets is required but I've left that until Monday, as they'll probably, no definitly, make more mess then Smiley Sad

Family over tomorrow?  It's Sunday so it's possible?  Son and Daughter have a habit of arranging to meet at mine......but they don't always tell me!

So sorry to hear about Supertrouper, very sad news.

ST was instrumental in opening a door between Benchland & The Woods, she created the pathway.

Geez what are you two up to???

Injuries galore?

Hope you are both better soonSmiley Happy

Why were you hoovering FF?

Went out yesterday, all ok, whew!

Spoke to others whilst there and they said the same, it affects different parts each time you have an infusion, weird or what? One day it may "do it all"Smiley Happy

Helping YD later with packing, an endurance test believe me so resting quietly until then haha xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, sivam.  I first met her here on this forum and corresponded and then was privileged to meet her in person at the first MMU.  So so sorry!

Thought I was a ok to go to my friends and to have coffee and not do her cleaning.  Found it was a big mistake, the enforced idleness because of arm and hip has caused havoc with my back.  Took longer to not do her cleaning but since coming home and resting all three painful areas are getting better. Arm can now go overhead, hip ok and back as usual.

School tomorrow as I wasn't able to go in this week, just to make sure that everything is as I left it, i.e. clean, tidy and ready for the new year (probably won't be as someone is sure to have come in and left a mess).

Supertrouper?  I've not heard but I assume the worst from your post. Oh no.

Seems we're both accident prone this week JCJ.  Both of us Ow ow ow.... I think perhaps we ought to go back to work for our own safety!

Oddly enough I had ham, egg and chips tonight but cooked by my own fair hands (and an oven and frying pan).

I have a new neighbour, the couple next door became parents to little boy on Monday.  I met them today in the car park area, congratulated them and he's like all newborn babies..........just awwwww sweeeet!

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Ouchy times for everyone! Hope your feet feel better soon, Katy, and your bruises mend quickly, FF.

I was going to amuse you yesterday, with my preserve-making kitchen injuries, but the news about Supertrouper rather subdued me. Spent a long time on the quietly contemplating bench. :'(

So, to cheer you up, Katy: swallow that mouthful of tea, put down that mug. I was turning the windfall Bramley apples into chutney yesterday. Part of the process involves sterilising a load of jars on a tray in the oven. As I took said tray out - a precarious job that I have achieved successfully hundreds of times over the years - one of the hot jars started to topple. This set up a domino effect, wobbling the other jars and I jumped backwards, to avoid hot jars landing on my bare feet and legs, (shorts on - not cooking naturistically!) whilst simultaneously landing the tray on the worktop. Hot jars rolling everywhere but, fortunately, none broken. However, couldn't say the same for the skin on my leg! I'd jumped back onto the hot, sharp edge of the oven door (it opens downwards). OW, ow, ow, ow OW and Several expletives later....I am going to have to charge extra for these jams and chutneys: danger money!! Leg ok today. Only a small wound.

Been for a picnic and a walk at a local RSPB reserve today. Sunshine and showers. Then we went to a pub for dinner. I got my ham egg and chips! 🙂

Can't believe there's only 3 more holiday days left. How can it already be a week since MMU5???  So not ready to go back to work! 😞

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

You would expect to feel the same after every dose., as it's the same medicine...as you say strange how it's different.  Hope the feet are better tomorrow.

I've managed to fall over the hoover extendable stair hose and landed sideways in a heap on said stairs.  Have bruised upper arm and shoulder and hip.  Can't move arm above shoulder level.  Arnica cream and paracetamol are my best friends at the moment.

Sunshine and showers here too. Watching some brilliant tennis from some of the younger generation that are coming up.

Am soooooooooo tired, amazing how different you feel each time and my feet are superly sore, have not been out at all...........but one positive I don't feel sick hahaha.

You have got to laugh, boo hoo!

Sunshine and showers here.

Quiet night, early bed, tomorrow's another day Smiley Happyxx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

I can't claim credit for the phrase, FF; I've borrowed it from somewhere - possibly Winnie the Pooh!

Spent most of yesterday doing battle with the vegetation, unearthing a robin's nest (no longer in use) and a large, very cute mouse in the process. Went to S----------- (rhymes with pain berries) for the big shop and dinner. Finished shopping just before 6, put it in the car, went to go upstairs to café. Sign on wall: Due to unforseen circumstances, cafe closes at 5pm today. Oh no!! Resists inner child's desire to lie on the floor kicking and screaming. We decided to try the other big supermarket A*** (but not the one that's an anagram of dial) In order to get there we passed McD, P.E. (no not games lesson: pizzas) C (mostly coffee) and N (chicken)  and had to cross dozens of busy roads (well, 4 probably - but one was 4 lanes of traffic!). I don't do new fangled dining!

Anyway, A***'s menu not as interesting as S*******'s so my inner toddler is still not pacified - (was anticipating having my favourite ham, egg & chips but not an option here :(). We finally decided on lasagne and ordered 2. Sat down with our mugsatea. 20 minutes later, girl arrives with ONE lasagne meal and plonks it in front of me, "Enjoy your meal", and goes to walk off. "Excuse me! We ordered two!" "No, just one." "We ordered AND PAID FOR two". Girl on counter, overhears and agrees (luckily, as we had no receipt) profuse apologies and another 20 minutes later the second meal arrives - preceded by a free mugatea. Fortunately, I had the foresight to pass OH the first plateful, because he eats soooo slowly (always did, but the PD has made him 10X slower!) We actually finished eating at the same time! Imagine if I'd eaten that first one! I'd have lost the will to live waiting, and the frozen stuff would have been a puddle in the boot of the car!!

Raining today so I can't continue with the wilderness taming. Shame?! Will have to sit here, in my nightie, with a mugatea instead. Gutted. 😛

Just loving your definition of a bite to eat  "a wee snackerel" will adopt that forthwith.  I need to do some gardening as well, although mine is a courtyard garden, no flower beds, no grass, just pots and paving and gravel, the weeds still grow.  It's like everything else , one day I'll be so fed up wih them that I'll get rid of them.

Have sent you a PM.

Yes had to read FF's post a couple of times dog biscuit barrel for your poor GC hee hee, bad Nana.

Hope things were ok today.

Transport fine, canula c***, had to have a doc come and fit it after numerous attempts. All ok after that, had a sickness tab in middle of treatment and it has worked miracles, woo hoo!

This time am starving had soup, sandwiches and pudding in hos, came home muggatea and biscuit, then tea, another muggatea and caramel slice and am still hungry?  xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Curtains fell down this morning! 😞 Good job they were only light, so no injuries sustained. Glad I didn't get the heavier blackout curtains I liked, or it may have been me "blacking out" -  as my bed is directly under the window!! Have jammed the rail in a bit tighter. Will see how that works. May have to devise some sort of fixing to hold the rail in place.

Just having a wee snackerel for lunch before getting back to gardening. An estate agent would label our garden "mature" by which you should understand "overgrown", so I'm hacking back hedges and shrubs! Being good and wearing long sleeved top, trousers, socks and gloves. Ain't no beasties going to be biting me this time!! Ain't no Lynn going to get me either! 🙂

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

FF, I am appalled! You really shouldn't feed dog biscuits to the GC! Oh. Dog biscuit-barrell not dog-biscuit barrell! 😛

Good luck with the lido tomorrow - hope it all goes smoothly.

I am on the Smug bench again, only I've raised it up on stilts, like a tennis umpire's chair. There's a permanent halo attached just above head height and a fully integrated sound system that delivers applause and cheering. Why so cocky? I hear you ask: I have ticked THREE (yes, three) things off my holiday to do list today. Cleaned kitchen cupboards. Cleaned oven (didn't need much as I'm -so far- keeping to my promise to myself to do it regularly) Then I went into town (regretted that decision because it was SO hot! :() and bought curtains for the little bedroom

Tonight I have removed the broken blind that's been annoying me for YEARS , hemmed up the curtains and fitted them using that pole I bought to temporarily fix the shower leakage problem. BINGO! Pole only £11 and curtains £16 (could have spent nearer £50 on them) so I've treated myself to a new duvet cover set that I hope will match the new teal curtains. One day, I might get around to redecorating the room. One day. Maybe. For the moment, the teal looks quite good with the grey walls.

Typing this in HTML not rich text, because it's playing silly b.s tonight, so I hope the formatting's not all over the shop!

I've nearly eaten all my fudge too. Yum yum. Would have done if I wasn't also scoffing choccies bought for me by pupils & colleagues! Going to have withdrawal when they've all gone!

The girls are camping in mid-Wales this week. So far they've had super weather, for once, I hope it holds for them.

Can't watch the blue tennis - doesn't seem to be on free TV - listened to the Conta match on radio whilst hemming the curtains.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

I'm taking great care of my toes, I know things come in threes!

Family over today, biscuits eaten and crisps, also some of the contents of the dog!  I have a dog biscuit barrel that holds goodies for the GC. All GC's ask what's in the dog?.......... Daughter seems to have a bee in her bonnet about a family holiday in Scotland, in February, with snowy winter sports?  Sounds alright..........but I had trouble with the noise from 5 GC in the 2 hours they were here.......a week of that?  No!   And fly to Inverness?  I swore I would never get on a 'plane again after Menorca.  Perhaps it will come to nothing?  Exactly how do you politely say, actually I don't want to spend a week on holiday with you?

Babysitting the 12 and 3 yr old tomorrow while parents go with 23 yr old to her "appointment".  I've been informed of other things since MMU5.

I've read  a book, now catching up on recorded tv.  US open on tv too, Blue tennis yay!

Good luck tomorrow Katy!

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Joining you on the Smug bench, FF. I picked 7lb plums off our tree this morning and turned them into 15 (smallish) jars of jam. We'll eat some of it, but most of it will be sold for charity.

Half way through the process, I realised the enormous 5Kg bag of sugar had less left in it than I thought, so I had to go down to the village to buy more. An unexpected mile walk!

Also did the ironing, stripped my bed, and made the Sunday roast dinner.

Now on the Smug bench knitting a giraffe.

Whilst waiting for the jam to cook, I fetched a dining chair into the kitchen because I needed to sit down but didn't want to go into another room in case the jam burnt. I got up to give it a stir and boiling hot jam spat up at me. Burnt my finger so I dived for the sink and the cold tap. Forgot about the chair and kicked it as I turned. Nearly broke my ****** toe! Ouchy! Ouchy! All OK now. No trip to A&E required. Thank goodness.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

So only a middling fair cop then, the residential area, the street lights made me wonder and really if I wasn't sure I should have erred on the side of caution!  Oh well, I'll know next year.  FYI I went through Lancaster on the way to the M6 going home.

How lovely to have an unexpected visit from family, biscuits were not needed at my house as my visit from family didn't happen but they may come tomorrow. Will wait and see.

2nd bedroom/storeroom/library thoroughly sorted, cleaned and everything put away.  Some items going to go to the tip. So I'm on the smug bench....job well done.

Had a busy morning, catching up with those "do it later" jobs.

Sat down and was busy munching late breakfast, early lunch, when the phone rang, Auntie and cousin from another city, in town, and could we meet up. So quick rush around and out the door, lovely surpriseSmiley Happy.

Came home and immediately went onto the "zzzz" bench, had an awful sleep last night but think myself lucky as that only happens once in a blue moon would hate it to be a constant like so many others have to suffer. xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

You may remember that I mentioned that on the road into Morecambe I didn't know if the speed limit was 30 or 40 and that there was a speed camera.

I found out the limit this morning when the speeding summons arrived!!  It IS a 30 mph limit and I was apparently doing 36.!  Oops...... my first ever speeding fine in 40 odd years of driving.  It's a fair cop, guv, (but they could put up signs!).  Morecambe trip slightly more expensive than I thought Smiley SadSmiley Tongue

Done more sorting out today, everything that belonged upstairs and was downstairs ( books, dry washing, books, odds and ends, more books) is now upstairs.  Tomorrow....get the books back on the shelves, paperwork filed and generally tidy up........maybe......could be Monday.........or Tuesday....... I've been to the Library and got more books to read.......Smiley Happy

Expecting family tomorrow so have stocked up on biscuits again.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Really missed my Rita breakfast this morning, sorry that I couldn't do it justice yesterday but the cold sausages went down well at Strensham services.

Started to sort out out the Library (second bedroom/store room) today. That actually means I've moved the piles of books on the stairs up to the landing.  Tomorrow (maybe) into the room and hopefully onto the shelves.

Shopped for the basics, bread, milk, meat, veg etc. so how did the chocolate peanuts get into the trolley?

Oh dear JCJ , The Thirsty Three and the Vanishing Cakes?  It can't run and run, as we know how it ends........ we ate all the cakes and drank all the tea.

I'll confuse everyone too.......any of the four with a slight leaning towards the haunted one!

Think you need a senior moment mint, KTC, you responded to a DM in Benchland! That'll confuse everyone. 😄

Reading my Enid "Bottom" book and it's given me an idea for new Benchland japes: The Thirsty Three and the Mystery of the Vanishing Cakes. This opens the door for a series: just substitute "chips", "tea", "fruit (from scones)", "camels" etc for "Cakes". It could run and run? Must stock up on ginger beer and ice creams.

Being a (relatively) good girl as eating fish & chips cooked in oven with both mushy AND garden peas. Slightly healthier than usual Friday chip shop treat. I hoovered (well, Henried) my car at long flippin' last, too (instead of just shaking the mats!) Now, where did I put that halo? 😛

Glad you're back safe, FF. I'd just finished saying to OH that I was a bit concerned you hadn't announced safe arrival home yet. For once, it's fantastic to be proved wrong!! 🙂

I finished my (brilliant) Kindle (other.....) book on my way home and am now going to settle down with my Enid Blyton (hahaha tablet changed Blyton to Bottom!!) and my SM mints. 🙂

Strewth! Googled (other......) Scarborough news and saw videos of the torrential rain. Indeed, glad we weren't on that coast!!

Finally..... I'm home and on the extremely knacked bench!  Road works, contraflows. accidents, diversions, 30mph speed limits etc. Four stops at services the last one for for an extremely strong coffee. Shed layers of clothing as I moved South.  Stomach behaved perfectly Smiley Very Happy

Thank you girls, for the gifts, the company and the laughter!  Many hugs to you both, here's to No. 6.

Daughter said it was a good job we weren't on the East Coast as Scarborough has had a monsoon and horrendous flooding.

GS's appt.  yesterday also got him a diagnosis of ASD (at long last).  Dr. getting reports done etc., DAF meetings set up etc..

Loving the little camel (whoever's pyjamas he's wearing). Can we adopt him?  Humpdinkling?

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Home too safe and sound, journeys went well, APART from JCJ trying to get me on the wrong train, she obviously wanted rid of me asap and any train would do????

GeezSmiley Wink!

Glad you are home JCJ, just FF now.

Sun was splitting the pavements on arriving back, so windows all open, washing started and takeaway tonight, no cooking well, any excuse will do for me!!

We did the scones Ali, but no hot choc, maybe next year haha!

Sooooooooo lucky again with the weather, one of my train helpers thought I had been abroad hee hee.

Thank you girls for the lovely gifts and the truly wonderful fun, massive hugs to you xx

Woke up stupidly early. Fretting about number of bags/stuff to schlepp about. Got up. Chucked a load of clothes out of bag. Washed hair. Chucked shampoo & conditioner out. Squished other items in. Sorted! Just 2 (heavier!) bags and my Mac to carry. 🙂

Is it still raining, KTC?
