Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Yes, those are the dates FFSmiley Happy haha!

Soooo pleased your mammo was not sore whew!!

Good you now have lots of supplies and brilliant that your meds are sorted now. Your arm is prob much sorer than mine, mine just feels heavy, that's all.

Glad also to hear daughter is on the mend.

Where are you now JCJ??? How many more miles?

Clinic visit went well, she is very pleased re my arm, it has gone up by 1 cm which she said was a very small increase. Am going to try another type of sleeve/glove and will go back to make sure it fits properly. Have thin wrists so sleeve ends up baggy at the hand which then encourages lynn to misbehave............if it fits properly at the hand, arm it ends up too tight at the top, fingers crossed this one is better xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Those dates fine by me. Also usual places.

Seen respiratory nurse today, meds have been upped and I've also had a pneumonia jab.  She said it might make my arm ache and give me fluey symptoms.  Well she wasn't kidding, my arm feels as if it's going to drop off if I move it too much Smiley Sad  No other symptoms yet. I now have steroids and antibiotics in a cupboard to take if I need them (and a leaflet as to when I would need them) especially if I become ill over a weekend.

I'm sure that my arm feels nowhere near as bad as yours Katy. Do those dates suit you? Told you I'd lost the plot about dates, if they suit you as well as JCJ and me, I'll go ahead and book for the 22nd - 24th Aug. and hope I beat you both for the cheaper deals!

Daughter is slowly improving, nothing too serious but still feeling fragile, SIL has taken two days off work to look after her and the children but she's recovered enough to be giving him orders today. Just a matter of time until she's back on her feet.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Sorry your daughter is not well, FF. Hope she feels better soon.

Weehoo! About painless mammo. 🙂

Now just the "fun" waiting part. Have some more choc pear cake with chocolate sauce. My awaited parcels (Mr Futon purchases) still not arrived either, so every return to the house is with expectation mixed with trepidation. 😐

Are we going for Tuesday 22nd August to Thursday 24th then. Is everyone ok with that? Usual places?

Will you be doing more babysitting when ED starts uni then Katy? (apart from when we're stealing you away!) She'll be REALLY busy once she starts teaching, if it's the same up there as it is in England. I hope she gets in and enjoys it.

I hope you manage to get Lynn sorted out, Katy: tell her where to go!! xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Daughter is totally rough so I was on my own.  Got to hospital and found a parking space, yay Smiley Happy  Oh no, change of rules can't park there Smiley Sad Drove  to another car park area and saw a small space, thought " that's not big enough" then "I'll try it" so I did and it WAS big enough Smiley Very Happy £3 in the meter for a ticket.

Walked three miles (well it felt like it) to Unit. Waited, looked at a magazine (do I care if Cheryl Wotshername is having a baby?) and got called in.  Same room, same radiographer as last year. And a totally painfree mammo happened. Yes, you read that right, NO pain!  Now on jittery waiting for result bench, cake is lovely.

I've lost the plot over dates, you two work it out and I'll fit in, I can do any time in Aug. just tell me when Smiley Happy

No JCJ, we'll just go for that weekSmiley Happy 22nd onwards otherwise too much trouble and bother haha!

Am giving ED plenty of notice, if she suceeds, she will be starting uni that week but OH will be able to help out so all fine.

Hope daughter is better FF, so you have company and a nice lunch, let us know how you get on.

Am away to leave shortly to see about Lynn, such a brat................xx

Good luck tomorrow, FF. Hope daughter well enough to do lunch. Wishing you minimum pain and speedy 'normal' results. xx

See you on the jittery bench for tea and cake tomorrow afternoon. 🙂

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

The first Saturday in August is 5th (have to go Sat to Sat or Fri to Fri if not camping) so we'll be away until 19th so I can only do the week before if I leave OH in the holiday cottage/caravan/cabin and travel down from Northumbria - probably not a viable option. However, not back to school until  training day on 1st September, so I could do 29th - 31st, (but that is the bank holiday week so Traveldodge might be dearer) I suppose there's no law that it has to be Tuesday to Thursday either? 🙂

I'll look into trains from up north, tomorrow, to see if it would be possible. Got to go to bed now. Knackered.

I can do either week, not a problem for me.

Lunch depends on daughter. If I'm on my own I'll just come straight home.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Those dates suit me just fine.  Also excited and looking forward to breakfast at Rita's!

I know those kinds of days Katy, I seem to have lots of them Smiley Happy. Hope today has been better.

Mammo tomorrow, daughter was going to come with me but both she and GD are under the weather so I think I'm on my own.  Final decision on whether she comes is tomorrow at 8am.  I know she'll come if she can but I'll be ok on my own.

Would the week prior work or is that too soon after your break JCJ? xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Glad we created a woo hoo moment in an otherwise yuk day, Katy. I hope tomorrow is better.

As to dates. OH usually wants to go away for the first 2 weeks of August,so could we do the same week as last year - ie the week before the (English) bank holiday? That'd be Tuesday 22nd - Thursday 24th if we follow the usual pattern. Open to other suggestions, if that doesn't work for you, as we've not booked anything yet.

I can almost taste the chips and smell the sea air. Getting excited already! 😄 Any chance Revcat is available this year? xx

Choc pear cake?? Sounds delicious, yum, yum.............

Oh yuck, have had the most awful day, you know when you think everything is organised and everything ends up notSmiley Frustrated!! From the hairdryer blowing up to nearly falling spectacularly, goes on and on, whew glad tomorrow is another day.

Sooooooooooo when I checked on here had a "woo hoo" moment, yes am def up for MMU5, feel excited alreadySmiley Happy!!

If you suggest a date JCJ, will do a double check with ED.

Aaaah FF, know exactly what you mean it's an odd feeling, I did not come away feeling exhilarated just felt very strange, your safety net has gone but must admit BCN stressed if anything was bothering me EVER, to contact them, nice to have that reassurance xx

foxyferret

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

MMU5 is already pencilled in, in my diary! Any week in August suits me. I'll join you both on the jittery bench although a little late for the afternoon tea.  Hope there's some chocolate pear cake left.

I AM actually jittery about this 5 year mammo and consultant appt.  Not been too worried about the others but this one's getting to me as it's the biggie. Hopefully, it should be last one and I will be normal (me, normal?) and discharged. It just seems to be a bigger deal this year.

Lunch at Son's was good and we all caught up on the family news etc..  Meant to combine my visit to them with a trip to local discount store (think Jason and the....)  but both the items that I wanted weren't available.

So that annoyed me greatly!

Glad your OH is being more amenable JCJ, men are strange creatures. Did you save me a chocolate eclair?

Oh, you have, thanks for that.

JCJ

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Dashing in again to deliver chocolate sauce to go with the chocolate pear cake.

OH has snapped out of his ar**y mood. I took the opportunity to talk about where we might go in the summer - as I, quite rightly it transpires, assumed he wouldn't want to camp again after last year's debacle, and therefore we'll need to book somewhere. Don't want to leave it until there's nothing decent available. Anyway, he said we can't book anything "until you know when you're going to Morecambe"!! Oh. Am I going to Morecambe? I don't know? Anyone up for MMU5?? 🙂

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

chuck the guilt. Let's feed up the alligators. Haven't had an alliburger in ages! 🙂

Joining you on the jittery bench for a delicious afternoon tea. You coming too, FF? Everyone else welcome too, of course; come along and be jittery together!

Yes, I suspect part of OH's current issues is my mammo: - anxious waiting and remembering. It also highlights his own PD, which won't get better. 😞 I try to be understanding, but when he keeps on obsessing about an incident, with our neighbour, that happened before Christmas 2015 - which he completely misinterpreted, but he won't accept that - it drives me nuts! It's part of the mental condition: everything is always someone else doing something to him. He just can't accept that he's just as guilty (more so!) He just won't hear it.

Anyhow, enough whingeing. Who's for more tea? Chocolate eclair? I've made chocolate pear cake for dessert after the Sunday roast dinner.  I'll put some in the shed - if I can get it past KTC on the jittery bench! 😛

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Oh noSmiley Sad!!!!

Am sitting on the "guilty" bench JCJ, no way did I mean to make you feel selfish, you silly pudding!

Mine is by choice. Yours is not.

Come and join me on the "jittery" bench for Afternoon Tea.

Your OH is on the "bad behaviour" bench, do you think it maybe his way of trying to not think about your results?

FF, that sounds lovely for afterwards, nice distraction.

Really enjoyed my curry yum yum, am taking leftovers to ED's house tonight, am bedding the children cause they will be home late from their break, much easier that way.

Have been quiet cause YD is also away for the weekend.

Next week is busy, not one day of quiet time so it's good I can conserve my energy this weekend, haha.

Had to take one jumper back, it was pretty but quite thin so not any good am only looking for cosy warm.

Hope school is not too messy FF xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Oh purleese, just chuck your feeling selfish into the lake JCJ.  You are fully entitled to feel as you did and whinge a lot!  You had a horrible, painful and worrying time from your account of it.

Sorry that your OH is being a pain in the ****!  Oops, I mean unreasonable, OH's just are.....aren't they....?  Mine was.....

Katy, you are also entitled to whinge, that must have been a nightmare!  I'm glad that you are feeling better now and also hope you enjoyed your curry. Hope the awfulness was worth it and less pain is the result.

My mammo is on Wednesday.  Daughter taking me and a trip into the City is planned for after and a nice lunch in our favourite eatery.  Will join you on the waiting bench in the evening JCJ.

Nice quiet day today (but can't help wondering what they are doing at school and how much mess they're making).  Distracted myself with good books.  Tomorrow going to Son's for lunch and a catch up, haven't seen him for two weeks and that's unusual.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Sorry your Thursday was a nightmare, Katy. I feel selfish for wingeing about mine now.  I expect the yuckiness was partly due to all the stress on top of the lido. Glad you're feeling better now. Hope you enjoyed your curry! 🙂 Fingers crossed the lido keeps the pain at bay.

OH in one of his unreasonable moods today. People can be soooo hard to live with sometimes can't they? He's just announced "I'm not going to wash up any more on a Saturday. That's it!"

What? YOU'VE BEEN RETIRED FOR TEN YEARS!! EVERY DAY IS A SATURDAY FOR YOU!! (I shouted that just in my head). He doesn't realise quite how irritating that is WHILE I'M STILL WORKING (and cooking every night except Wednesday, when I wash up instead!)

He asked for help on the computer just as he was going out last night, so while I'd got it on today, I asked if we could sort it out: "No thank you. Not on a Saturday" well I'm busy every other day so suit yourself!! Smiley Mad

I'm still waiting for a couple of parcels, so while they're still not here I can pretend I'm watching the post for them and not THAT letter! 🙂

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Hope you are feeling calmer now JCJ, any little blip as in redoing sends you into a complete turmoilSmiley Sad, when I saw a white blob at one of the mammos I nearly fainted haha, just scar tissue etc.

Try not to worry and hopefully that letter will be with you soon. Fingers crossed.

FF, when is yours?

Had a complete nightmare on Thurs, was 5 mins from other city when ambulance crew realised they had passed the turn off for another patient, which meant we had to go back 5 mins from my city then set off again to the other city, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So arrived 2 hours later than I was meant to, then canula set up was c***, had to phone for a doc, they were all in theatre so a staff nurse managed to get it in, grrrrrrrrrr, bruised arm and hand, arrived home at 6pm. Felt very sick and staggered around a lot, went to bed before eight. woke up Fri morning feeling superly sick, lasted till around teatime.

But today am feeling fine, woo hoo, and am away to treat myself to a big curry, hurrah xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

I'm sorry your mammo was so ouchy.  Been there, done that.  At least doing the scans again on the damaged side saved you a recall which would have been sooooooo scary!  More than likely just scar tissue getting in the way.

A sense of humour is definitely required when flashing your boobs to all and sundry, I still have to restrain myself when attending meetings.  It's almost engrained....oh, a roomful of strangers?.....strip!!!

School has decided to have a change around, an office is going to be a classroom, a pretty much wasted space is going to be the office.  It will work better but they are causing so much MESS and they will be doing a lot of it over the weekend so heaven knows what I will find next week.  Not going to think about that now, going to enjoy the weekend.

Next Wednesday I will take your advice Optimissy and have loads of painkillers on board before my mammo!

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Felt horrible walking into the breast unit this morning. All those memories! :(. I was 5 minutes early (despite loitering in the hospital shop for a few minutes to buy some consolatory chocolate!), but I was seen straight away. I was asked if I minded a student in with us. Of course not, they've all got to learn somehow. Student did my right side, under close supervision, and proper radiographer (radiologist? I can never remember which is which!) did the left (mutilated) side. OUCHY OUCHY ouch ouch!! Brought tears to my eyes - literally. (Should've read your post before I went, Optimissy, and taken your helpful advice!) Radiographer joked with student that she made me cry but student managed not to!

At one point, when the student turned the machine for the sideways shot, she sent it the wrong way. I offered to stand on my head - if they'd hold my feet. 😄 I felt for the poor girl she was so worried about hurting me, I think she appreciated me having a laugh. She was slightly horrified when I said that after 5 years I was quite used to flashing my boobs to random strangers at regular intervals!

They didn't like the scans taken on the damaged side and did them again. I'm trying very hard not to read anything into that!! 😐 At least it saves a recall due to unclear pictures, I'm telling myself, trying not to think about the last time a radiographer had several goes at scanning that breast, in order to get a clearer picture of that particular worrying patch!! Now for the horrid letterbox watching wait.

Corsage arrived today. It is exactly like the picture and looks lovely. Now I've got to keep it safe - without forgetting where - for 3 months! And then remember to take it to Norwich with me. Perhaps I should just put it in the jacket pocket and try not to crush it in my overstuffed wardrobe.

Swimming tonight: Another mile down the Loch. Just over 4 miles left, so I'll probably get to the end in 4 weeks. Start boiling the haggis! 🙂

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Take the paracetamol BEFORE the mammo - it really helps. I did this before all mammos and biopsies and it takes the edge off. Good luck. X

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

As all those memories and emotions come flooding back, at least I can console myself slightly with a more leisurely breakfast. Mammo not until 9:42 (precisely!) and it shouldn't take more than 40 mins to get there and park, so no need to leave at my usual (painful) 8am.

It's world book day again. Staff & kids encouraged to go to school dressed as a character from their favourite book. Can you believe it? Last year my mammo was on world book day too! Refused to go to it dressed as an owl and did a quick change in the ladies when I got to school. Not going to bother this time. Supply teacher in 'my' class who won't know we're dressing up so I'll go 'normal' (I hope, in more ways than one!) to keep her company. Well, that's my excuse 😛

OH, last night, said I'd be fine because "you've never been so fit & healthy as you are now". When I pointed out that we thought I was "fit and healthy" up until the recall from that mammo 5 years ago, he implied that I wasn't looking healthy then! What??? Now he's claiming to have known I was ill?? He's already forgotten what a shock it was to us both! 😞 I know he's trying to be supportive.... but, really?

Puts paracetamol and ibuprofen (other painkillers...) in handbag just in case. Affected boob already sore at the moment, as it is from time to time, especially around appointment dates. Funny that?

Oh golly gosh, freezing here too no rain but beautiful sunshine, woo hoo!!

Went into town early today, no GS because ED has a viral infection, she has been feeling yuck for weeks, think it's because both children had bugs then she got it too and just all the running around, exams etc, fingers crossed she will be well for her surprise break, she deserves it.

Arm is a mess, phoned clinic today, answering machine, nurse phoned me mid afternoon and said I could have an appt tomorrow, can't do that but have one for next week, am sooooooooo pleased, fantastic serviceSmiley Happy!

On the "bad behaviour" bench purchased another 2 jumpers, just so happy to feel warm haha, plus they have all been in the sales because shops are getting ready for summer.................xx

I'm not going to say how much leftover birthday cake was in the shed but..... not even a crumb Katy?  Really not a crumb.....?  Someone can eat more chocolate cake than I can?

So glad the new clothes are keeping you toastie warm.  Wish you'd said you were meeting Revcat, I'd have sent my best.  Glad you had a lovely lunch and it's lovely to hear that she is ok.

Been much colder here today and non stop rain.  School had a training session and lots of teachers attended and so it was a total mess.  Overtime worked to get it back to it's usual cleanliness, not a problem one of these days I'll get the time back.  I love flexitime, it all works out Smiley Happy.

Had a lovely lunch with RevCat today, she was asking for you bothSmiley Happy! We did our usual non stop blethering and tried to find our way around the shopping centre, we were saying that we think it's around 4 years we have been getting lost in that place hee hee.

I was WARM, woo hoo one big jumper and a polo neck donned, just great so will now have to purchase more cosy clothes, just shows the difference apres ta"poxy"fen xx

Chocolate cake? Where? *Wipes mouth as she skuttles out of the shed*

Sorry, girls, it looks like someone's beaten you to it! One small consolation for having to be up so ridiculously early?! 🙂

Back to work. Where did that week go? I bet the next one won't go anything like as fast! 😞

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Chocolate birthday cake in the shed, we didn't (couldn't!) eat it all, so rich only a small slice was sufficient.  GD very pleased with her pressies, think the one that went down best was a DIY science experiment on how to make her own stinkbombs!  Feel a bit sorry for daughter and SIL.  But she was also happy with the amount of money she accumulated Smiley Happy

Hope you feel warmer with your new purchases Katy.  Supposed to get colder here this week after a couple of mild weeks so I'll be wearing warmer clothes too.

That's lovely JCJ, will match garland and tiara methinks!

Am totally fed up listening to what we should eat blah, blah, blah, boring beyond belief says she eating a caramel sliceSmiley Wink!

It has poured with rain here non stop and it's sooooooooooo cold, had to nip into town to pick up some warm jumpers, managed to buy two polo neck sweaters, slippers and pick up the two jumpers I had ordered so very pleased. Perhaps I shall now feel warm??? Didn't realise how much the ta"poxy"fen affected my body temp (apart from the flushes) cause am really cold all the time now.

Face is def less fluffy but still have those crazy randoms appearing from nowhere. JCJ, if you can plait the fluffiness through the garland you will be a winner on the big day hahaha.

Another birthday FF, so many just after Xmas, thought it was bad having two hahaha. Hopefully there will be some cake in the shed.

Went out with a new brolly, think I had taken about ten steps when it blew inside out, another 20 steps and it was only fit for the bin, good job it was a cheapy.

Early bed tonight with electric blanket on full xx

PS, You maybe right regarding hairdresser xx

Talking of TEN a day: YD tweeted: "So, eating 10 portions of fruit and vegetables a day will help us live longer. The down side is that we'll spend all the extra time eating vegetables and sh***ing!" 😄

Not to mention the time required to buy/PREPARE all that veg?

foxyferret

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

That is not a cauliflower.... or an ivy necklace....but it is lovely and will look really good on the suit. The virtual bridesmaids will make up the vegetable/fruit TEN a day now recommended.  I'm stitching aubergines to my costume as I type.

S&M mirror?........Oooh err?....  No, thanks.  But the M&S mirrors are bad enough, do I really need a 180 degree view of my body?  Nooooooooo!!!!

Have been putting off the visit to hairdresser but must make appt. on Monday.  Looking in MY mirror is beginning to be off putting.  Looking like a wild woman.

Birthday tea tomorrow, GD 12 years old. She is the one who always makes the best cakes but as she is not doing her own, we'll have to make do with what her mother can rustle up!  In the shed from six pm, if we don't eat it all Smiley Happy

PPS. I did make a comment about the mirror(s) I had to endure yesterday in the well known department store - now known as Sparks & Menders. However an M&S mirror sounds OK but an S&M mirror is another matter altogether? Sounds incredibly dodgy (cue auto bleeps?!) Lol.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Have you scared your hairdresser away, KTC? (*ducks*)

I don't know about visiting THAT mirror for a haircut: I may soon have to go there for a face trim! Hair on head still thinning but that on my face is making up for it! 😞 Should I cultivate it to go for the most amazing comb-over when head hair finally gives up altogether? Another 5 years on Tapoxyfen, I may need it?? Perhaps I should just plait it and park it behind my ears?

As to vegetation: friend has suggested a flower on my jacket - as it's a bit business suit without - so cauliflower? Mixed florets? Perhaps an ivy necklace? A floral garland and matching tiara? 😄

PS Too many questions?

Woo hooSmiley Happy!! So glad you have your outfit, now you can just concentrate on The WeddingSmiley Happy!

Think as well you have to feel comfortable and happy in your choice, you have to be youSmiley Happy

Now how are you introducing vegetation? Carrot hat? Lettuce handkerchief? Brocolli bouquet?

Oh my that mirror is truly shocking, thought I looked ok sat down and yikes, is that really me?? Horrified............

Hairdresser is leaving, oh no, will have to find someone else, have been going to same place for years so have no idea where to go?? The only advantage maybe a more flattering mirror? Or should I just face reality? Do I get rid of my home mirrors cause I look completely different in them hahaha xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Spent quite a lot  of money on suit for son's wedding.  I was able to wear it again for for daughter's wedding two years later. Only son and daughter recognised it (and didn't mind) as guests were totally different and couldn't tell and it's been hanging in the wardrobe taking up space ever since.  A waste of money?  Yes and no.

So an outfit that can be worn again gets my vote every time.  Going on the pics, both look really good but the suit will not sit in the wardrobe taking up space but will be worn again and be useful and cost effective.

Anything you wouldn't feel comfortable in is a no no.

I need to go that "awful mirror" place too, begining to look too hairy to be seen out in public.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

There'll be 45ish at the wedding and afternoon reception, with another 20 or so coming for the evening. (Not counting virtual bridesmaids! :P) Barbeque lunch. Buffet in evening. Bar all day and YD has insisted there's plenty of tea available because she doesn't want everyone on the booze for 12 hours!!

I have just had a very successful trip to Sparks & Menders! 🙂 Bought wedding outfit! All items practical and will be worn again. The jacket, blouse and cardy were things I wanted to buy anyway, so if I see something better when the spring clothes come in, I can still buy it! Win win situation. 🙂

I got a navy blue skirt suit, a royal blue blouse, and navy cardy - so I've got a variety of layering options depending on the weather. The girls are wearing grey/black, respectively, trouser suits (if they can find them/get them made) and matching royal blue shirts. (If my shirt is too similar, I've promised to get another top - already got a newish one that will do!) I have black knee length boots that look ok with it, and I'll get some sandals, so I'm sorted whatever the weather (refuse to wear tights - even as mother of the bride!!)

I saw a beautiful embroidered dress that actually looked good on, but it was too short - black mini inside with an embroidered net overlay that came to just above my knees. I decided I'd feel uncomfortable in it - definitely haven't got the legs for it! - and £89 was a lot to pay for something that wasn't perfect and I'd probably never wear again! I didn't pay much more than that for all 4 eventual purchases put together!!

Now I just need to lay off the pies so it still fits me in 3 months time!! 😄2017-02-24 16.07.24.jpg20170224_133750.jpg

Sounds like fun JCJ, NOT hahaha!!

Really don't fancy that film at all despite all reviews, not into musicals.

Yep "jittery" bench it is, we'll just have Afternoon Teas for a while to cheer ourselves upSmiley Frustrated!

Just made a muggatea and dropped it, geez, had just finished tidying and thought I would relax before showering, going out, not to be obviously...............

Hey ho, am off to "that" mirror place later because my hair is resembling the floor mop again, will be averting eyes continuously.

Still freezing here, no rain or snow but def brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I can send that book if you wish FF.

Forgot to ask JCJ, how many will be attending The Wedding? and did you get hotel sorted?

ED being whisked away on a short break next week by OH, surprise treat, sounds lovely.

So because of that and Lido, GC will be popping in and out.

YD will not know this week, new position, am really hoping it works out because a few years ago she was offered a very similar position, she ended up being a helper in all different depts which wasn't the actual job so this time she wants clarification, go girl go haha xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

As you probably gathered, I'm no further down the Loch! Wish I had gone swimming instead of agreeing to go to the cinema. Next time it's the O**** (sounds a bit like odious!!) I'll decline.!

WELL!! Just ...well!! Smiley Mad

Just been to cinema to see La La Land - because, yet again, I forgot how much I hate the cinema. Anyway, when OH was paying for the tickets the guy said "2 seniors is it?" and OH said "yes" (because HE'S been one for 5 years) over my indignant "NO!" I realised that it was actually saving us money so I shut up. The man on the til was calling OH "chap" what's that? It sounded so patronising and ridiculous. What's wrong with "sir" or just plain old "thank you" without any fake endearments? Oh dear, now I'm behaving like a senior - with 3+ years to go yet!! Senior?! Humph!!

The film was so loud, I've come out with sore ears and a blinding headache. Even though I put my hands over my ears for the loudest bits, I still feel like I've been assaulted! (More senior behaviour??!)

Hope the jitters sort themselves out happily soon, KTC. Hugs.

Tea and cake delivery to the jittery bench. Shall we all adjourn there for the next few weeks? (You'll have to whisper, my head hurts!)

So glad you're ok Katy, but sorry you're still on the jittery bench.  Hope everything works out allright.

No, I haven't read the book, library couldn't get hold of it.  And too many other interesting books to read. Still working on the ones I got for Xmas.

Yep all fine here, raining early this morning, turned to snow for an hour or so then back to rain, rain off now but it's been horrifically cold brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Glad you are all fine apart from carpet falling yikes................can imagine the fright and rattling conservatory, noisy or what??? scary stuff.

I remembered your mammo JCJ cause it's the day of my lidoSmiley Frustrated

So we can sit on the hospital bench next week and then the week after for you FF.

Think it's really great that your daughter is recognising the signs now, hopefully meds will even things out soon.

Still on the "jittery (non medical)" bench think I will be there for a while unfortunately, one of those things I have no control of whatsoever, so trying hard not to let it worry me too much...............deep breaths and carry on.

FF did you read the book??

Just finished another one, enjoyed that too. xx

It was more than a tad breezy here too, I was a little worried about my conservatory roof at one point though it's all calmed down now.  But having just watched the national news I think you must have had it much worse.  Hope you have recovered from your fright with the draught excluder....that was more than a draught!  Your mammo next week?  Mine is the week after, we can sit on the waiting for results bench together and eat cake Smiley Happy

Katy, is all ok with you? Are you snowed in? Or blown away? Do we need a rescue party?

Daughter is doing ok, I really wouldn't know anything was wrong if she hadn't admitted it.  Trying to support her as best I can and that's really just being there for her.  Difference this time is she's not let it go too far before calling for help. She's had ideas on how to help herself and they all make a great deal of sense.  I just need to have that conversation with SIL and tell him what to do, in such a way that he thinks it's all his own idea Smiley Happy  My weekend job!

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

It is, indeed, more than a tad breezy here, FF!

I was sat eating my (very late) breakfast in my favourite armchair by the fireplace (not lit) thinking "I'm soooo glad I'm not in a tent this time - at least I'm under a solid roof. The house is most unlikely to come crashing down around my ears" CRASH! BANG! ARGGH!! WTF?? The piece of carpet covered board that Oh shoved up the chimney as a draught excluder came crashing down just a couple of foot away from me.  Nearly died of fright! And this just a short while after receiving a text from the hospital - reminding me about my mammo next week, but of course I panicked before I realised that's all it was! Better have an ECG too? 😐

Good news about your daughters, KTC - are you off the (not medical) jittery bench now then?

Hope your daughter is ok, FF. xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

All exciting things happening for both your daughters Katy, my fingers crossed for them too!

I did have my fierce face on, it wasn't a shop, a private sale on a selling site and she had to go to this man's house.  Most men are, of course, completely normal and ok but she didn't want to go alone and I don't blame her.

I have hurried to the shed and got that scone, thanks, it was delicious.  Beat you to that one JCJ Smiley Happy

Not a lot happening down here, storm Doris seems as if it will affect you both more than me, so batten down the hatches girls.

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Sounds like you are having a fabulously, wonderful time JCJ, lots of eating and drinking hahaha!!

Brilliant you are relaxing and enjoying your time with the girlsSmiley Happy!

FF, did you have your "fierce face" on, pacing up and down in front of shop window hee hee!!

Glad your daughter is trying hard not to let "it" be in charge of her, hopefully new meds will help.

Had an emergency call from ED this morning her exam had been changed to 9.00am this morning could I please have GS? So we sat and played all morning, cars vroom vroom and beep beep, getting good at the boystuff haha!!

Brilliant news is she passed, one more to go then final exam in May, fingers are permanently crossed.

YD has been offered a new position at work, it's something she has longed to do, she wants to be assured that she will be learning new things not just the same old, same old, she's scared to be too excited until all is confirmed, hopefully by the end of the week.

Am so excited by all the news that I munched a hot scone with lashings and lashings of cream, only one left so run to the shed asap xx

Re: stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND)

Unlimited breakfast. Skipped lunch apart from 3 biscuits and a mugatea after a short walk along Happisburgh beach (pronounced Haysborough for some unknown Norfolk reason! ) and back along what's left of cliff top. Back to YD's house for mugatea and to hem the other curtain. Bit of a bodge job, I'm afraid, but probably better than either of the girls could - or would - do.
into the city for yummy fish and chips that the pub opposite lets you eat in their bar, supping ale. Brilliant. More pubs/chippies should partner up like that. Some people were taking pints from pub into chippy cafe too!
Then we saw Red Shoes Ballet at the theatre, because OH wanted to. It was sold out, but we were lucky to get 3 returned tickets (D-I -L not with us, she was volunteering at Norwich Beer Festival! ) YD & I both enjoyed it more than we thought we would. Only went to humour OH! ! 🙂
Home tomorrow. CBA bench awaits!
