just to let you know I saw the consultant and he thought it was fat necrosis or cyst but sent me for a scan and the scan confirmed it was fat necrosis due to the surgery on that side! I was so stressed and probably have done my body so much damage over the last 4 days of stressing about this. Thank you so much for your replies as they did give me reassurance despite being so stressed!
Hi Simi7, I've had this too - twice had ultrasound and it was an internal stitch and/or scar tissue. The doc doing the scan said there was a neat scar on the outside, but a lot more inside. So it is absolutely possible that is all yours is, but you are right to get it checked. Try not to worry (so hard I know!!)
I had surgery for DCIS in March last year. I developed a lump close to my scar but not attached to it. It was checked out a few weeks ago and I was told it's a combination of surgical clip, scar tissue and changes to the tiny amount of breast tissue I have left in that area.

try not to worry, this could just be scar tissue... i was recalled back on a mammogram, found suspicious looking area. Worried myself sick it was cancer again but turned out to be just scar tissue.
I was diagnosed with DCIS high grade last February and surgery (mammoplasty)and radiotherapy and now recently I’ve noticed a hard lump underneath my breast where there is a scar. It’s not felt on the skin only inside. As I had a mammoplasty the cut was made from under the breast and this is where I feel it. I’m so scared that it’s back again. I have an appt on Monday but just am so worried. Has this happened to anyone could it be because of the surgery scar?
