Vicki,

Hiya - think this might be of interest to you. Liz O'Riordan is an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon who had a similar diagnosis. She writes an interesting/informative/great blog at :

2 types of cancer in one breast

Has anyone else been diagnosed with both ductal and lobular cancer in one breast? I can't find anything at all on this - I surely can't be that unique! I would love it if someone who has gone through this to let me know how it was for them.

This is all still a shock for me - I found a little lump that turned out to be completely harmless and through the ultrasound picked up a small ductal cancer which got removed along with 2 lymph nodes. One had cancer in it but not from the cancer that was removed. It is from a lobular cancer that has it shown up in any of the mammograms or ultrasound. I had a MRI which did show two little shadows. They did manage to get biopsies with ultrasound and I get the results of these along with a treatment plan tomorrow. Both cancers are ER and I started tamoxifen a month ago.
