You are certainly not on your own. The best thing to do is to tell the staff how frightened you are and when you get to theatre they will most likely give you something to help. They like patients to be relaxed.
With luck you will be fast asleep almost as soon as the needle is in your hand.
You sound like a remarkable young woman. I know that everyone reading this thread will be rooting for you and wishing you well.
I hope this helps when the time comes for your op.
I just wanted to let you know that how you are feeling is absolutely normal.
I too have a fear of general anaesthics (in fact if I'm honest, anything hospital related) lol 😮 but try not to worry as you will have a 'team' of doctors and nurses looking after you and you've done it before so you CAN do it again!
I had full node clearance at the same time as having a mastectomy followed by chemo and rads. It's unfourtunate that you have to have further surgery but do try not to worry as you are in the best hands and will be following the best care plan for you!
Remain positive and think about your lovely wedding plans for September! 🙂
Hi Leanne , I'm so sorry you are having to face this at your age but you sound like you are coping well, it's very unfair that you are facing more surgery now and the likelyhood of chemo when you are should just be looking forward to your wedding but life throws stuff at us and we have no choice but to deal with it!
Youve come through a mastectomy and you will get through this next op.
Ive not had a node clearance so can't help with that Im afraid just didn't wanted to read and run without acknowledging your post, plenty of ladies here have though and I'm sure someone will be along soon who can help you Xx Jo
