When I was first diagnosed and a bit confused, I found being able to use the email a nurse service fantastic. I'd used it after being told I had a fibroid and all my results came back clear. Then an aggressive cancer was found when I went for the routine fibroid op. I was pointed in the right direction about what questions I should be asking the surgeon and breast care nurse as to how things could have happened like this. Being told I was fine and didn't have cancer, then 4 weeks later finding out I did have cancer was dreadful. This site was a great source of help and info for me, and all the leaflets I was give by my BCN from the site were presented in clear and calm terms. I still keep everything in a health file for reference even though I was diagnosed over 4 years ago now.

Dear BCC and all of you

Can I just add my thanks too? I always said to my lovely breast care nurse that the best thing she ever did was to point me towards this site. It has been a life line since 2007 and I have some wonderful friends from here.

I couldn't agree more with what everyone has said - thank you so much BCC. I've met so many wonderful people here since diagnosis in October, people who are helping me to get through the trials and tribulations of treatment.

I take my hat off to each and every one of you who works in the background for us because you do an absolutely wonderful job and I for one would be lost without either the forums or all amazing literature and advice provided.

Hi deb, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I truly do not know what i would have done without this site and am only sorry I discovered it 2 years after my diagnosis and not straight away.

This year I have used this forum,which has put me in touch with many generous women, phoned the helpline many times, read numerous leaflets and attended the brilliant younger womens forum in Newcastle. All of which has left me feeling informed and supported.

Many thanks to all the BCC staff and volunteers as well as all of the great friends I have made on this site.
It has helped me through the past months since my dx in May, the support which we all recieve from eachother is fantastic.

A big thankyou from me too. Bcc scooped me up at one of the lowest points in my life. It gave me information when I needed it, it provided a listening ear and sound advice and it gave me a forum to vent my feelings. Finally, it enabled me to make some very good new friends who are now an important part of my life. I was dx in march and relied heavily on this site from that point onwards. Since my treatment ended in October I have visited the site a little less frequently and a little less extensively but it is good to know it is here for me, and for others when it is needed. Thankyou to the charity, it's trustees, it's staff, it's volunteers and it's supporters, both financial and not, for helping me through this year. Thankyou also to my fellow forum users. All the best for a better 2011 than 2010 turned out to be.

I do not visit this site very often now, I managed to "wean" myself off of it 2 years ago, but at the time of my diagnosis 3 and half years ago it was invaluable to me. I would like to say a massive big thank you to all you ladies and men who volunteer and work at BCC...

Without this I really don't know how I would have coped in the last year!

You have been my inspiration via your forum to carry on with my treatment when all I felt like doing was giving in!

You work in the background and i just want to say how much I personally appreciate all you have done.

I haven't been the easiest to cope with, lost the plot a few times, but you have always guided me right!

So a merry Christmas to you all.
