Re: Advice needed regarding blood tests on FEC chemo

Thankyou.
That's all I was trying to ask the nurse yesterday and all she said was she didn't know.
It's hard because it is true the minute you find out about a problem else where cancer is your immediate thought.
I'll try looking up about it.
Thank you for your reply.x

Re: Advice needed regarding blood tests on FEC chemo

Hi im thinking maybe it's something to do with the chemo causing problems to your liver, it doesn't necessarily mean cancer I think I remember reading a possible side effect of chemo can be liver problems? Sorry if no help I just no how hard it is when you are waiting around and feeling confused x

Advice needed regarding blood tests on FEC chemo

Hi,

I new to here and just looking for some advice.

I'm 33 and was diagnosed with breast cancer in November when my baby was 14 weeks old.

I had a lumpectomy in December followed by a mastectomy in Jan.

I have just had my second cycle of FEC chemo yesterday, however they have advised that they want me to go for a scan on my liver on Monday as my LFT blood result has risen from 45 to 90 since the last chemo session.

Obviously I have now gone into panic mode thinking there is something seriously wrong, the nurse I dealt with yesterday didnt seem to have many answers when I asked if this was something that could happen during chemo, I get the feeling she was quite new to the job. I know nobody can tell me for definate that the cancer isnt there but I just wanted to find out if anyone had dealt with anything similar.

Thanks in advance.xxx
