Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi Corinne,
I am in the percentage that has lost my hair, also eyebrows have thinned, lashes still there though, as is leg hair...Grrr!
My hair though has started to grow back a little bit, not enough to look decent without a wig as its a bit fluffy but I am not entirely bald.
Keep your fingers crossed and you may be lucky & keep it.

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,sponge bob ladies,
Bumpkin a huge hug coming your way. What a time xxxxx

Smartie,I'm praying TMs are wrong. But im not getting hopes up. xxxxxx

Corinne,my hair started to come out in clumps but I must be in the 25% whose hair just thins. I'm using a thickening shampoo and conditioner and go out without a wig on. My hair was very thick so I think this helped save it. I think it's 50% lose hair 25% hair thins and 25% keep all hair.ive lost a few eye lashes and eye brows have thinned. They were never very prominent anyway as the were blonde so always needed mascara and brow pencil.
Huge hugs,Helen xxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi ladies

I'm joining your growing group on Tuesday!!

Bumpkin - I'm so sorry you have had such a horrid time... I was exactly the same as you when last on chemo and refused to go into Hosp.... For me it was fear as I remembered the last time!! I'm so glad your on the mend now and can have chemo to kill these invaders again...

Smartie - to say I'm angry about the treatment oncologists have provided is an understatement... Tbh think of making a formal complaint to the hospital.. But I just want to concentrate on getting better at moment...

Ladies - can I ask? Does your hair always fall out? I noticed the comments about it just thinning and hoping I will get lucky with it? Do they give you a wig second time round?? I found hair loss the most distressing aspect of the whole treatment??
Luck to you all

Corinne xx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Bumpkin, what a terrible time you have been having, just shows we should all take notes of temperature spikes, it's easy to become blasé about them when it sometimes proves to be nothing. Glad you are on the mend.
Helen, hope your scan doesn't show any progression, my onc has never used my tumour markers as an indicator of progression, perhaps it's because they don't really show anything for me? Thinking of you and hoping for good news...
Corinne, sorry to hear you will be joining this ever growing group on Eribulin and what a terrible time you have had with oncologists - it really isn't good enough. Although it seems now, at last, you have found a really good one, hoping your upcoming test results are more positive than you imagine.
Just had cycle 6 day 1 yesterday so feeling a bit weary today, scan in 3 weeks, see what the blighters are up to then.
Love to all

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hello all. Happy to be getting first dose of cycle four today having not had chemo for four weeks. After my fever which I reported here a few weeks ago, I ended up in agony one night and which resulted in a hospital stay for pleurisy brought on by pneumonia. I had a huge telling off from my oncologist for not ringing chemo ward when I kept getting temp spikes. I was trying to be well for a wedding and it has all backfired. It was the evening of the wedding that it all kicked off. It has taken a while to recover and I am still low on energy. Plus, my skin mets have got larger again due to lack of chemo. I am hoping Eribulin will get on top of them again, as well as zapping multiple infected nodes which have progressed extensively according to pet ct scan results. My only hope is that the pet ct scan, which I had two days before I was hospitalised, was lit up by infection rather than just nodes, which I understand can happen. I can see more people are having Eribulin, which is great, given what the CDF plans were. Hope everyone is doing OK. Bumpkin. X

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Sorry my mistake - I should have said feel like 7 months pregnant!! Silly me!Jackie xx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Thanks Porkie

I didn't think you could have any chemo whilst preg, that's a new one on me.  Must be a very emotional time for you {{{ hugs }}}

I hope all works out for you 🙂

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Helen - what anti-nausea tabs have you tried / been offered?  They really should be able to do a lot to make it bearable - then you have the other problem but even that is sortable, in theory, plus drinking loads and loads which I find hard.

On eribulin I used Ondansetron for three days, then Domperidone.  Metaclopramide which didn't do anything for Carboplatin nausea worked well for um .. taxol.  So worth chopping and changing and trying things out, have you kept tablets from previous treatments?

I did have huge problems with indigestion whilst on Eribulin, which I was putting down to lazy eating of things that normally can upset IBS/diverticulitis/intolerances I already had - and me cleaning up my act eating happened at around the same time I unexpectedly stopped having the Erib.  So I'm not sure whether it was the erib or a combo or just flare ups of existing digestion problemos.

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Thanks Helen..

At least i won't be long at the Hosp then!!!! Have to wait to see nxt oncologist on Wednesday. See what decision they make..

Think it might be a good idea to write all the questions down, im like you and m trying not to cry thru the appt!!! The prob I have is that ex does an ostrich impression, I sure he listens to a totally different conversation to me.... He even thinks I'm gonna get 'cured' even now.. He refuses to read any of the literature, even this site and Macmillan.. So has no idea what the docs are talking about!!! Moan over - at least he comes with me which he doesn't have too and I appreciate it . I have no other family left..

I will be sending you loads of hugs, Good wishes, and loads of good vibes!! There's hoping you can get stable and remain there xxxxx
Corinne (hugs)

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Corrinne, it takes about 5-8mins through IV tube. So fast !!
I've been on it just over three months. You may be able to go back on Cap if it was still working when you came off it. Some oncs give you what they call "easier" chemos first so you can have quality of life.some give you the heavier ones first.

He may be keeping gem/carb for later.
If I were you write your questions down to ask him. If you're like me I let hubby ask as I'm always upset and trying not to cry.

I'm praying mine hasn't spread again, not sure I could cope with more. I would love just to be stable for a while.
Huge hugs,Helen xxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Carrot

I found Vivorelbine doable - just didint last long - just 3 months.  My problems are the cancer symptoms in my abdomen are horrendous - I am seven months pregnant and on lots of meds to try and move things along - sorry to be blunt. So I cant eat or even drink much and get breathless because on my diagrham. Have a new med to take tonight so hoping it is going to ease symptoms a little as very difficlut times at the moment. Next chemo Thursday so want to try and have this so that if it starts to work I will get some relief. Good luck with Vinorelbine if thats what you have next Jackie xx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Thanks Helen..

How long have you been on it?? Can I ask how they give it?? And how long does it take? I'm not sure I want to go on it... Only stopped Cape as ct showned ned... So how do they know it didn't work? As I understand it skin mets don't show on ct scan so maybe it if I'd continued on Cape? Only had three cycles... And why not gem/carb which I heard has good results for tnbc ladies... I just lost all confidence with the hospital... And I can't understand why they cant just remove my recon? I know you are not a doc but does this fit with other regimes you've heard off??

I'm so sorry your TM are on the rise again.. I've never been told what mine are... I hope your ct scan doesn't show progression.. and that they have something else up their sleeves for you if it does...
Corinne xx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,corinne,I'm very nauseous but I am on everything. They did put me on steroids this cycle which has helped and I'm at last eating.
Fatigue is quite debilitating and has tended to get worse a few days after dose. I haven't lost all my hair but it has thinned considerably . Last cycle I was still poorly on week off but I do think it was all the pain I was in and a lot of pain meds on empty tummy.
I think I'll be stopping this chem in June after CT scan on 15th as TMs are creeping up which always indicates squatters on the move again 😔.
Hugs,Helen xxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi ladies...

Back from my oncology appt today - was same oncologist - but I've got to change!!
Oncogist today confirmed all my fears, mets on reconstruction, mets in my 'good' side axilia.
Can't be operated on at present.. Straight onto chem - erubilin... Would even consider gem/carb.. And was running round like a headless chicken trying to get me appts... Tbh he has scared the living daylight a out of myself and my ex.... Couldn't get any definitive answer out of him..... Back on Wednesday to see another oncologist - as get this, as he is a locum he can't prescribe me drugs!!!!
Had bloods taken and I've got a pre chemo assessment on Friday...... To say I'm a mess doesn't even come close...
I wondered if you lovely ladies would give me some advice on erubilin? Side effects how it's taken and any good results? Because right now I get the impression from oncologist that the games up!!!!!😥😥😥

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi Porkie,

Interested to hear how you found Vinorelbine as ai think that may be what I'm offered next .. Appointment on Thurs.

Also abdominal node mets - have yours been painful and did they have effects on your digestion? I'm not sure whether the pain and indigestion I get is from 'my' (!!) diverticulitis/IBS/food intolerances or the abdo Mets! Suspect pain at night is abdo Mets. Paracetamol does trick sometimes but not always.

Good luck w Eribulin - I found it ok - quite tiring, usually rested in middle of day a couple of hours. I had wobbly legs on day five. Nausea completely solve able with two days Ondansetron and then Domperidone as needed (usually only two days) of course everyone can be different. Would have been happy to stay on it indefinitely but it stopped working. Apparently onco said he had one lady on it 16 months.

Good luck,
Carrot

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

I was allowed to have PET scan towards the end of my 'week off' ie twelve days after previous eribulin.

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Good morning to you lovely ladies. havent posted for a while as still reeling from recent bodyblow. Just finished 1st 2 parts of cycle 1 erubilin. I dont know if i mentioned that after i was told my skin mets had spread in my neo breast i also noticed nodules in my abdomen cant say i've noticed any change yet. Sorry i cant remeber names but i'm sure one of you has skin mets..did yours spread and when did you notice any improvement, My onc actually asked me to get a second opinion ( i think he was stumped by the mets appearing again so quickly) which i go for tomorrow. I also noticed one of you said you were going for a pet scan soon..did you have to stop your chemo for four weeks? when i finished docetaxol and cape i had a 4 week wait and i now wonder if i hadnt have had this gap, or indeed have gone back on cape, hether i would be where i am now. Anyway hope you all have a good wek. Much love.x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Welcome Porkie to our small gang of sponges. So far we all seem to be having a good response to Eribulin so I am sure it will be good for you too. Feel free to ask for any advice.

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Morning ladies. I found out yesterday that I will be joining you on erubilin next week. I cant say I am looking forward to it but my current chemo vinorelbine is no longer working so change required. Have had mets for 4 years now, 2 of which just in my bones then since then it has spread to lymph nodes and more recently my abdomen which is the worse from a symptoms point of view so really hoping this chemo will work and relieve some of the symptoms.x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Thanks Smartie. I like his theory. I hope it's right! Need to feel Ok for pet ct scan tomorrow. eribulin is tough but hopefully works. Am not used to a chemo which keeps giving side effects for days after the dose. Hope everyone is doing OK today. Bumpkin x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Sorry for late reply Bumpkin, have been away from the forums for a couple of days. I too have temperature spikes throughout the cycle, my onc thinks it's possibly due to a chemical released as the cancer cells break down. As long as I don't feel ill (apart from shivers etc. associated with a temperature) and as long as there is no obvious sign of infection (I.e. Cough, rash, urine infection etc.) then I am keeping away from hospital and having a paracetamol to keep temp. under control. It seems that Eribulin throws up some weird side effects.
Helen I hope you are feeling better and that your meeting with Macmillan went ok and your appointment with onc tomorrow goes well. Have to say that last week after Day 1 infusion I felt sick on days that I normally feel ok on, have just had day 8 treatment today so hoping I don't have a repeat of last week.
Smartie x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Oh my, Helen. I think this is a tougher chemo than I thought. My first two cycles were Ok but this one, hmm. I also have lots of pain below and all around my ribs, so am thinking my liver is not happy, but I do not have liver mets, at least not that I know of. perhaps this chemo is tough on the liver. Also, I have little appetite, like you.
I can understand why you are in no hurry to end up back in hospital with a high temp after what you have been through. I don't know if you have oxycodone, but having taken some in liquid form, I have stopped making pain noises out loud. Temp still 38 but I will add a paracetamol into the mix shortly and try to sleep it off. The fear and panic i used to get in chemo drugs one thru four is no longer with me. Hope you sleep well and wish you good luck with onc and Macmillan's nurse. Thanks for the response. X

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Bumpkin, my temp spikes all over cycle. It spiked today day 15. It's also has spiked day before I was due to start next cycle.
This cycle has been my worst, felt dreadful most days. Have no appetite, nausea awful. Just vomited this evening 7 days after treatment. The pain in my liver area is awful so I'm very worried the tumours are growing. See onc on Thursday and macmillians nurse tomorrow 😟. I took parecetamol before I started second part of chemo last Monday.
Hugs,Helen xxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi all.hope you are all OK. It is day 20 of my cycle. Yesterday felt ill and temp peaked at 37.7. Flu like shivers, sweats and pains. Today I felt better though not fab till mid afternoon and no temp. Started feeling same symptoms around 5pm. Temp 38. Do not want to go to hospital as you know what happens there. Plus it is 35 miles away and I am in bed. Catlady and other temp spikers, have you experienced anything similar this late in a cycle? I have a pet ct scan Thurs to see if Eribulin is working. Need to be well for it as it is 45 miles away. Husband and chemo buddy can't come. Am normally fine at this point in cycle. May be psychsymatic! Any wisdom most welcome. bumpkin x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Yes tnbc hoping for a miracle x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Kitty, are you TNBC . As I am and I know how very few options we have. That is a very hard decision to make i so hope the Eribulin slows growth down for you.
Massive hugs coming your way,Helen xxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi all, hope you are all as well as can be .I saw doc today for results of scan last week. Found cancer in lung still growing  and two suspicious areas to bone in lower back. She suggested taking break from chemo for a while or continue with Erubilin for further three cycles as she is unsure if it is slowing the growth. I have opted to continue but am very shaky about this . I am also aware I am running out of options Oncologist tells me there is only one chemo option left for me  after Erubilin, but can't remember the name of this treatment as I was a little in shock I had expected being told all was well. Tanks for listening x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi Helen. Sorry to hear that you are having such a bad time this cycle. Sometimes the SEs and the drugs we take to control them are worse then the chemo. But as you say if it means that the chemo is doing its job we can cope. Rosie xxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Good afternoon sponge bobs,
I'm having an awful time with this cycle. The sickness is dreadful. I've been in bed from Monday! Which is certainly not me.

I had to cancel my denosumab today as could not even make it to car.

I've also got thrush in my mouth again, grrrrr and no saliva. But as long as sponge bob is doing its job it's a small price to pay.
I hope our little group is doing okay and not too many SEs.
Huge Spongy hugs,Helen xxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi fellow sponges and a welcome to Stresshead. I have just had first dose of cycle 5 and it is my bloods that are hit hardest, HB down at 84 so having a blood transfusion next Tuesday (second one during this treatment), white cells are helped by Neulasta injection. I too have continual spikes in temperature and after two visits to hospital in cycles 2 & 3 now have been given prophylactic antibiotics to take which avoided a visit last cycle. Other than that tiredness, although not too bad for me, sore mouth during week 3, and hair loss, although strangely it has started growing back during the last few weeks, fluffy like a chick!, still got eyelashes & eyebrows (for now). Scan after 3 cycles showed small shrinkage and I have another scan booked after cycle 6 so fingers crossed. Feel free to ask any questions Stresshead once you get underway and hope it works well for you with not too many side effects.
Enjoy the weekend all.
Smartie x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi Helen
Yes, my temp goes up, but not to a serious worrying level. But then, my temp is usually a degree or so below normal level. The fatigue is very debilitating and when you are having it, it is hard to imagine it will go. But, luckily, it does. I hope you and all the sponge bobs stay as well as you possibly can and enjoy the long weekend. Bumpkin x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi SHead, I can't believe your onc has taken you of cap .he must be the only onc that doesn't know you can stay on this until it stops working!
Now he says you can stay on Eribulin??
I thought my onc was batty!
Eribulin does hit the bloods hard and I'm finding the fatigue quite debilitating this time.xxxxxxx huge hugs and welcome to the sponge Bob club xxxxx Helen xxxx

But the odd thing I've noticed is my temp goes up about two days after the dose,it did last week and again yesterday ??! Has anybody else noticed this?

I've lost about half my hair so I reckon I may be in the hair thinning %? But time will tell. I don't wear my wig (at the moment)

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi Stresshead
Seems you can't rid of me, am beginning to feel like a stalker! Anyway, I have completed three cycles of Eribulin which I started after cape. I have no steroids or anti sickness meds and the Eribulin IV takes 10 mins max. I have three days of tiredness, picking up in time for the day 8 dose. I then have another mostly lost weekend before picking up till day 21. Other side effects have been sore gums, headaches, pain in my skin mets. I had large mets which have reduced considerably. The hair situation is a complete lottery. I still have all of mine but others have lost theirs. Welcome aboard. Good that you have a plan in place. It is doable. Bumpkin x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hello Ladies, ist time i have posted on this thread but have been on bone and skin mets as i see some of you have as i know your names. I am about to start erubilin tomorow. Finished cape 6 weeks ago, pet scan showed no active disease 4 weeks ago and within 2 weeks i had further skin mets. Apparently skin mets dont show ip on scans??...great!!  I am still convinced that if i'd have stayed on cape i would have been ok but my onc is till insisting you cant stay on it indefinitely. I have told him there are women on here who have been on it for years but to no avail. I have been told i can stay on erubilin for as long as its working so i'm assuming that resigns you to a hairless life...i must say that was one of the things that got me down most with my other treatments but io know its a small price to pay. It seems that this is quite  tough drug re bloods so taht must be quite 'wearing'. Oh well, at least i ahve been given the chance to have this one...a few months ago it looked like it would be off the CDF list so i'm grateful for that. I'm sure i'll be back on here for more support from you lovely ladies. x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,Smartie, I bet it was lovely in Cornwall especially with the nice weather.so glad you had a lovely time.
Huge,Helen xxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi All, I am glad you went ahead today with chemo Helen & hope your pain is a bit more manageable. I am due cycle 5 part 1 on Wednesday. I had my usual spike in temperature last week for 3 days but I was taking my prophylactic antibiotics so pretty much just ignored it, I felt fine otherwise & we managed to get a few days away in the nice weather to Cornwall, it was so nice just to have a change of scenery & not worry about hospitals!
Hoping you are all coping with any side effects.
Smartie x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,sponge bobs,
Well I've had second part of cycle today, yippee.
My temp did go up after about two days after first dose, but I took paracetamol and it came down and stayed down so I do think it's the eribulin !
Hugs,Helen xxxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Thanks for your help ladies. I shall have another two blood tests before the decision is made so shall have to see what happens.
I've already told my husband that we will need a cleaner and an ironing service - he's been very resistant up to now. I will also warn my boss that I may need to do some work from home (I have a 4 hour daily commute as well as a full time job).
If it works, I'll put up with it!

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi Elily
Sorry you have to join us. I did the same transition from cape to eribulin. I have to agree about three days of tiredness. I had dose 1 cycle 3 on Thursday and my energy levels are only returning today. I have never felt like this on any other chemo. I do have aching hands and feet, the occasional headache and my gums ache about this time in the cycle for a while. But I will pick up tomorrow and then there will be another dose on Thursday. However, you may be more fortunate with less fatigue. On another note, I still have all of my hair so far. I can understand you wanting the cold cap but it will add lots of time on to your chemo day. Eribulin only takes 8 minutes in my case. I don't have any steroids or anti -sickness meds.
I didn't respond to cape but am getting a visible response to Eribulin which I hope to see reflected in my scans in a few weeks. My onc says I can stay on Eribulin for as long as I can tolerate it and it is working. Wishing you the best of luck. It is good to feel pretty well from day 11 to 21. Bumpkin x
Hi to everyone else! X

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,Elily, sorry cap has stopped working. I must say the fatigue hits me hard and I certainly couldn't do work on Monday after it .But as red rose has said every one is different .
Huge hugs, Helen xxxxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi Elly I am sorry to hear that the Cape is not working for you and that you are going to start Eribulin. Please remember that not everyone has the same side effects and that our minds and bodies cope differently. I have only had 2 doses of Eribulin, I have lost most of my hair, my white cell count became very low, so I am having G-CSF injections and I am extremely tired for about 3 days after the dose. The rest of the time I manage very well and am able to do everything I want to, however I am retired so have plenty of time. I find this site invaluable when niggles, questions and yes fears arise there is always someone who can help. Rosie xx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

I may be joining you on Erubilin in June as Cape may not be working for me anymore.

I shall have a look through the thread for all your tips and hints. I've already got hand foot syndrome, and he has recommended the cold cap for my only just starting to look decent after Tax hair.

Oncologist thinks I will be perfectly OK to have this on a Friday afternoon, rest up over the weekend (ho ho) and then be back at full time work on Monday. Is this doable?

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,smartie,WOW!!! Fantastic news. Go sponge bob .
I had the same conversation with my onc today about the temp. He said none of his other patients have it. So I told him the ladies on web site have temps. So he thinks exactly what your onc said.
He was going to arrange CT scan for next week until I pointed out ive only had half of a cycle after last scan. Which he replied oh have you. So we explained! And he's agreed that to put it of until after next cycle. I still think it's too soon, but it's like walking against the tide every time and it wears me out. Xxxxxx
Bumpkin,I've been on chemo wards 4 1/2 hours waiting for mine. And watched the FEC ladies come and go theirs take an hour and sponge bob is in in a few minutes!!
I hope our little sponge gang are doing okay, huge hugs, Helen xxxxxxxx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hello all
Smartie, that is marvellous news. I am delighted to hear it and also that you managed to have chemo. It is interesting how we all experience such different SEs. Well, we waited 3 hours for chemo today. It was busy and short staffed in the unit but no-one tells you anything. After 2 1/2 hours I was ready to leave altogether. My husband went to have a word and soon after I was in. As you know, Eribulin only takes 8 mins or so to give. I have decided to go to another unit my hospital runs which means an 80 mile round trip but I am hoping it will take less time overall. It makes me very anxious to experience such delays all the time. I wish someone would just say something and we didn't have to ask about what's happening.
I am now just have Eribulin with no anti sickness meds or steroids.
I hope you all get rid of your SEs asap. I am experiencing hand foot syndrome, sore throat and headaches on and off. I still have all my hair, sorry to those of you who have lost it. I may yet lose mine, but its here now and hopefully until at least 9 May for my stepson's wedding. Today was dose 1 of cycle 3.
Good luck to everyone for treatment, SEs and any more scans, tests and results. Bumpkin x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Well fellow sea sponges I had my scan results today and it seems that Eribulin is doing its job, yippee! Small signs of shrinkage were seen in all areas, very small in some cases but I'll take shrinkage/stability any day! So I am carrying on, with another scan at the end of 6 cycles to see how things are going.
I went ahead with my chemo yesterday despite temperature (which had come down later in the day of its own accord). I discussed this with my onc today and he said interestingly that sometimes as cancer cells break down they can release a chemical that caused spikes in temperature. So perhaps a reason for my issues, Helen is it worth discussing this idea with your onc, when you get to see him, as you have had similar temperature issues? Mine has given me prophalactic antibiotics to start taking today to hopefully avoid any return to hospital during the next week so I might try and get away with my OH for a few days somewhere for a change of scenery & perhaps a bit of luxury.
Hope you are all doing ok.
Smartie x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi helen i had awful mouth ulcers with my treatment and used difflam mouth wash and hydrocortisone mucco-adhesive buccal tablets which really helped although you are suppossed to melt them on the ulcer and when you have loads you have to move the tablet around. I got aoloclaire mouthwash from boots it costs nearly 10.00 but it is really good. And baby toothpaste.

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,smartie, oh no to temperature. That's why I wasn't allowed my second dose. Take some paracelemol that will lower temperature.
I got an antibacterial mouth wash for pain and something else with a dropper in that I coat my mouth with, think that's for the thrush.
Hugs,Helen xx

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Glad your bloods have improved Rose and you are back on treatment. Helen, sorry to hear about sore mouth, I have used Gel Clair and Difflam mouthwash which has been pretty effective, not sure what your G P has given you.
Due 4th cycle day 8 today, bloods are ok from yesterday but have temperature this morning, waiting to see what's happening, don't want to go near the hospital if I can help it!
Smartie x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Helen, so sorry to hear you are suffering with mouth ulcers and oral thrush, let's hope the "stuff" from the GP works. You need to eat to keep your strength up. I hope your Onc agrees to resume your treatment on Thursday. I will be thinking of you. Rosie x

Re: Any body on Erubilin ? Tips welcome.

Hi,sponge ladies, rone red, I hope the reduced dose lets you get on with your treatment . I'm hoping mine will as I don't fancy another stay in hospital.
I've got a mouth full of ulcers and oral thrush now, yack! Mouth is so sore and making it difficult to eat and drink. I've got some "stuff" from my gp so hopefully that will help.
I'm due to start again on Monday after seeing onc on Thursday.
Hugs, Helen xxxx
