Re: Anybody heard of new drug for ER+ palbociclib or on a trial

Hi,jane,I'm on letrozole too. Yes,hopefully it will be available soon rather than years down the line, but sounds like a step in the right direction. I'm waiting with fingers crossed to see if my markers are down on Monday or I'm changing treatments and that's another one failed(tamoxifen didn't work either)
Hugs to you,Helen xxx

Helen, I've just told you a lot of rubbish, it's called Paloma1, Iris is another trial you might want to look at . If you google Paloma1 there's a lot of info on it

Hi Helen, I mentioned it to my onc a couple of weeks ago as she has put me on Letrozole but she said we don't know when it will be on the streets here never mind the states and that she would use what's best for me now. It's another exciting move forwards with future treatments I think xxx

Hi,Jane,oh,that sounds great thanks for the information. Praying NICE don't scupper it for us.
I'm going to mention it to my onc next time I see him.
Hoping your well and hugs,Helen xxx

Hi Helen, the trial is called Iris and it is in stage three at the moment. The FDA have given it breakthrough status which means it has made a significant difference. It's a combination of both drugs and the company that is producing it is called Pfizzer. It looks very, very promising

Anybody heard of new drug for ER+ palbociclib or on a trial

Hi,lovely ladies,I've just been reading some posts on an American MBC site called inspire.and a lady was talking about a new drug in final year of trial called palbociclib for ER+ BC.the lady had put a link into read about it but I can't do anything like that, too technical for me. Apparently it extends life for about 26 months compared to letrozole which is 7.8 months.
Has anybody heard of it or on any trials?
Huge hugs to you all,Helen xx
Ps. It's for MBC !
