Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hi Annie, hope you,ve had a fab time, not been on here myself as I am so rough at the moment, dont think doc should have let me have treatment last week as was full of cold then,he had a quick look at me and said I could go ahead with chemo but since then I have just got worse, really bad cold and so chesty, feel dreadful at the moment, got my scan in the morning so think I will go in to unit and see if doc will give me some antibiotics as this isnt going to go on its own, have big sore on my nose!look like rudolph!!feel like saying enough is enough I dont want any more chemo, selfish I suppose but so sick of feeling like this now, sorry for the downer, just pi**ed off!!! hope you are doing better than this!!! hugs...lozxxxx

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hi Loz,

I'm so bad at coming on here these days (trying to build my hours up at work!).

Good luck with your ultrasound - I'll be thinking of you & fingers crossed that you don't need Tax. I'm sure what ever Mrs Onc recommends is for a reason - I think I shocked her on Tuesday as I went armed with a load of questions!!

This time we're flying from Manchester as they're better flight times this time - makes you wonder how many times our paths have crossed in Duty Free in the past! :))

Hope everyone is ok?

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hi Annie, yes had 4th fec monday after hours in the poorly bay, thought I wasnt going to be having it as so poorly with cold and sore throat, anyway feel extra crap now as had treatment and got all this on top of it all! been awake since 3 this morning so feel a bit crazy at the moment, going to have a lie down now!! glad hubby at work,at least the house is quiet! yes we will meet up soon when all feeling better, having an ultrasound next thurs (26th) to see if "thing" is shrinking, lets hope so,dont want that docetaxil,( heard some stories and didnt like) anyway have a fab time in morroco! if you are going from east midlands aiport say hello to the girls in duty free, tell them you are a friend of mine and they will give you a drink at the tasting bar!! have fun and enjoy!! speak soon...love and hugs...lozxxxxx

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hi Girls,

Trish, hello & sorry you are here too. I've only just seen your post else I would have replied earlier.

Loz - you poor thing, I hope you feel better soon. I remember when I had a chest infection at Xmas, I went in and said I don't feel well enough today for chemo - they kept me in the sick bay most of the day, sending me for chest X-rays etc, threatened to keep me in but luckily sent me home with antibiotics!! Sorry that our favourite Onc has decided you are on 8 cycles - like you say it's a bit of a shock! I'm off to see her on Tuesday for my post rads check up - don't know what to expect to be honest. Have got a long list of questions to ask (had more time to think since I've not been having treatment!)

Amanda - how are you doing? I hope all is going well for you.

When you are all feeling up to it, we'll have to meet up - I'm off to Morocco next weekend.

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hi Loz
I sent you a message when you first posted on the thread. I’m just sending you a big hug and to say I’m so sorry to read you’re feeling shocking. I remember so well that horrible feeling, but we’re here for you to have a ‘moan’ ‘cos we understand! Try to think that it WILL pass and you‘ll feel better soon. Take one day at a time. It’s hard, but just think it’s zapping that BC! Hope you pick up a bit over the weekend.
Big Hug
Ami xx
PS Hope pic of my Fruit Bat dog makes you smile a bit!

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hiya ladies I feel good now loads better than wot I did last week 🙂 no more se that's a bonus lol no sign of hair loss yet but have lost it on my arms n legs, I've goin out everyday yesterday my son was 18 so we all went our for a family meal 🙂 got his party on Saturday night so I've been busy sorting that out 🙂

Next juicing is 8th march wish me luck 🙂

Loz n Annie we must meet up soon xxxxx

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Bless you Loz - I'm afraid to say its about spot on time wise!! I started to drop just days before my second treatment too! My advice is to wear a hat in bed - I had it all over my pillows etc, not nice!

I've got a couple of headscarves if you want them? I've a blue denim one with beads (worn probably once) and a pale green one. Most of the time I wore buffs which are so comfy.

I hope Amanda is doing ok? I'm half way through rads now, first week was tough but much better now!

Hi,yes I have bought some lollies and some small cartons of juice which I have frozen, heard about mouth ulcers with chemo so will try not to forget them!..yes we will sort meet up soon and look forward to that..take care...hugs,lozxxxx

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hi guys

I took ice cubes in to suck whilst having the chemo as it helps lessen the chance of mouth ulcers. I forgot to take in the one week and got ulcers that cycle so for me it definitely worked. Only issue is I am only now just starting to be able to have in any drinks as the thought of them took me right back to chemo.

Good luck with the chemo and I will keep a look out for any meetup dates

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hiya

What a b#gger!!

Let's see what it's like later, Loz has her first chemo on Monday, so it would have been nice to have met up before that!

Have got details of the Look Good, Feel Good courses in Derby for Loz & Amanda too - get tips on make up, scarves (I think) etc & get a goody bag. I'm on the March one. If we don't get to meet this week, will pm the number got you - have to book early as its popular!

Re: Anyone In the derbyshire area?

Hi Girls,

Sorry it's taken me so long to sort this out, this week has been a week of appointments, here, there and everywhere!

How does Friday, 10th Feb - Cherry Tree Farm at 12.30pm sound? I'm really conscious that Loz and Amanada (Purple) are due to start chemo very soon and probably need the most support at the moment and some of you work during the day - so we will just have to have another meet up perhaps at tea time?

Anyone else in the Derby area is welcome to join us top - You'll recognise me either by wearing a hat or looking like a silver-back gorilla with very short hair!

Apologies if I've picked a date that you can't make but will happily work around you next time if you let me know!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Axx
