Approval of Kymriah, a new type of Immunotherapy in U.S.

The FDA in U.S. have approved a new type of immunotherapy called Kymriah by Novartis. It's not a drug but CAR T cell gene therapy. At the moment trials have been successful in a type of leukaemia and its approval is for children and young adults only.

This is a new and very expensive treatment but trials have started happening on solid tumours in U.S. and China. It programmes your immune cells to recognise cancer cells and destroy them so could be a cure in the future. If anyone is interested then google Kymriah. It's very early days........
