Avoidance

My husband, at the moment, is totally avoiding a sexual relationship with me. I am 2 years clear but have had so much pain ever since surgery. It is now diagnosed as nerve endings not healed (2-5years) and one of those pesky nerve endings keeps hitting a muscle causing horrific spasms which are so dibilitating. But they don't happen all the time but there is no warning as to when it will happen so he's worried of hurting me. I totally understand but doesn't help the fact that I have needs & urges. What can I say or do to make him realise this? Any help would be appreciated
