The health walks for people who have had a breast cancer diagnosis are now up and running in the Calderdale and Kirklees area. They provide an opportunity to do gentle exercise in the supportive company of others who have had similar experiences. The health walks are suitable for all abilities and last between 30 minutes to an hour. Trained Breast Cancer Care walk leaders are on hand to guide the group round the set route and afterwards the group head to a local café for a cuppa and a chance to have a chat. Walkers can bring a family member or friend with them on the walks.
The health walks currently take place in two locations on alternate Wednesdays:
Greenhead Park, Park Avenue, Huddersfield, HD1 4DT - registration at 10.45, walk starts at 11am
Beaumont Park, Butternab Road and Beaumont Park road junction entrance, Huddersfield - registration at 1.15pm, walk starts at 1.30pm.
We’ll be posting upcoming dates of the Best Foot Forward Health Walks in this thread. If you’re interested in coming along just check the dates and meet the group at the designated meeting point, or reply to the thread and one of the walk leaders will get back to you
