Hi, yes, it is the Care Oncology Clinic, I muddled up the first part! If you google it as you have done you will also get some articles written about it and it's work that have been in the newspapers.
ps I'm not surprised the Marsden is busy at the moment, I have recently been up there for a second opinion with a view to starting a trial and the doctors, and the well known professor, are flat out all day on the clinic day. They run their trials there rather than oversee them at local hospitals so maybe your oncologist didn't ask for you to go there for a trial? They normally are willing to recruit any suitable candidates as that is what makes the treatments of the future, getting the right number of results.
Thanks Nicky 🙂
Yes, I know about the Royal Marsden. I have asked my oncologist to refer me for a second opinion. She did (to a specific professor she knew) write to them and received a reply that said its very busy there at the moment, and that they don't any trials that is not running at my hospital.
The Cancer Oncology Clinic? I googled and found the Care Oncology Clinic. Would that be the one people have mentioned?
The top cancer hospital in London is The Marsden (as far as I know) which you will probably be aware of already. They run trials and therefore patients who fit the trial criteria do have access to drugs that aren't available yet. There is a centre in London called the Cancer Oncology Clinic which provides additional supplements etc alongside conventional treatment but I have no experience of it other than what I have read about them in the national papers. The other place that has come up on the forum is the clinic in Germany which offers completely different and alternative treatments.
Hope this helps and someone else may have more info.
I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, spread to the lungs, liver, lymphnodes. I have had mastectomy, radiation, chemotherapy and currently on herceptin and pertuzameb. I would realy like to get a second opinion / consultation as to what my options are beyond the mainstream approaches listed above. I am thinking I have to go to a private clinic to get any second opinition and to be able to talk to someone who will be able to think outside the box. As in looking at an innovative approach, trial options, immunotherapy, vitamin C (intravenous), hyperthermia and possibly alternative approaches. However, I don't know where to start. How to find out who is legitimate and who isn't? Does anyone have any advice / experience with this?
