I just wanted to add this final update, I was at my follow up appointment yesterday and all normal, tissue was all benign and she didn't even feel the bleeding warranted investigation as it was coming from a duct close to the biopsy site and she was confident it was normal. wound healing very well, back to exercise this weekend. just wanted to thank you for all your support and wish you all well xx

I'm glad you were able to see the nurse so quickly and that the wound is looking good.

Obviously you are now concerned that this may be another symptom but the doctor will check it out thoroughly on Wednesday, they may take a biopsy from this area too. I hope it turns out to be nothing, take care.

thanks for replying, the biopsy was in the upper outer quadrant and the incision is about an inch long, so not near the nipple area.
I called the clinic and the nurse had me down to have a look at it as she was concerned it could be an infection, but she said that the wound site looks very clean and there is minimal bruising, so she doesn't think it's related to the procedure.
she said that as I had an appointment on Wednesday anyway she felt it ok to leave it for now and just to mention it to the surgeon at my follow up appointment, she said to be prepared for further investigation as they will most likely treat it as a new symptom. feeling very concerned and not at all reassured.

I can understand your concern. Was the biopsy in the areola/nipple area? If it were me I would get in touch with the breast care nurse.

Hi There, after many months of tests/investigations, my surgeon finally agreed to remove a painful lump.  this was last friday and last night i notice i had specs of blood in my bra, on examination my nipple started to leak blood.  i just wanted to check that this is a possible side effect from the surgery and not a new sympton?  i have my follow up appointment with the surgeon on wednesday, 12 days post op so will ask her too, but it's concerning me as i still don't have the biopsy results so letting my imagine go wild.
