Re: Blogging

I'm starting to get nervous about cutting it all off, the hairdresser doing it said she's going to try make it a little fun and try out different styles at each step. Might make the whole process not as daunting. They found some dcis in the margins but my lymph nodes were fine xx

Re: Blogging

Ah okay. That time will fly by.
I think I'm just gonna clipper it all off as soon as it starts to come out in clumps. But I really don't know as my heads so sore and I'm sure the hair on it isn't helping. So I may go for it sooner!
The anticipation of it coming out isn't fun either. I just haven't been brave enough to go for it yet!
Why did you need a second op? We're margins not clear? Xx

Re: Blogging

Surgeon said June but I have to wait on results of 2nd op before I see my oncologist. I've decided to shave my hair off as soon as I get my date for chemo, when are you going for the chop? X

I don't know why my phone keeps correcting it to nipples! I don't think I've said nipple so often in one day x

Re: Blogging

Sorry I just read the part where you got that stuff through your nipples... sounds horrific! I know it's not fair and totally unexpected, I have a friend who was diagnosed at 24 and feel I have her to thank for me being seen a lot quicker as the Dr's here just assume that if you are young you won't get cancer or have it. I hope you get the results you want and I'll keep reading your blog fo updates 🙂 xx

Re: Blogging

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. *big hugs* as if this situation isnt hard enough as it is!
Glad to hear you are resting...as much as you can with little ones!!
I also have children, they're 8 and 10 though, so a bit bigger!
Yeah, I'm 28. Too young for this rubbish. It's not fair!
I haven't braved a hair cut yet, I feel a bit indenial. Like chemo will never happen..lol. I'm also toying with the cold cap. But my hairs already so thin I don't think it will be worth it. I keep changing my mind.
I'm currently going through the motions of getting my eggs harvested as me and my current partner have no children.
I used wordpress. Which i think is really good x

Re: Blogging

I've just read the about you part of your blog to see that you are 28, I'm 27 so close enough in age. From your pic it looks like your lump was in the same bit as where mine is and the same side! Did you get a needle through your nipples before the surgery to highlight your lymph nodes? X

Re: Blogging

I'm due mine in 2 weeks, it was all a bit complicated as I was pregnant but as of yesterday we discovered everything stopped growing so I'm spending today in bed with my hot water bottle, heaps of chocolate and pain killers waiting for it all to just pass away. Can't do any of it in peace though as I have an almost 4 going on 14 yr old son and grumpy 8 month old! We must be about the same age too! I'll start chemo after surgery so at least you won't be going through it alone and I'm also cutting my hair short in preparation for what's about to come. What site did you use to write your blog? X

Re: Blogging

Have you had your surgery yet? I had mine on Friday. So awaiting my results from margins of the tumor and lymph nodes... keeping my fingers crossed they are all OK as another surgery is not on my to do list!! I start chemo in about 5 weeks. Scary stuff. If you do write it all down and feel like sharing id love to have a read! xx

Blogging

I was diagnosed with grade 3 IDC last month..and have struggled until now to post on these forums. I'm not sure why, I guess I've felt like I don't belong here!!

However, I started blogging my experiences, and it really is therapeutic to just text vomit onto a blog. In a strange way, I'm starting to feel like I'm embracing this stupid cancer...odd!

I'd be really interested to read others blogs?

This is mine, if anyone wants a really naff honest read about my journey with breast cancer so far!

I'm really not a good writer, but it still seems to really work for me to get all my thoughts and feelings out as I come across them, so I would highly recommend doing one to anyone!! I kept mine private for a while, that worked too! 🙂
