I know one poster on here who has lymphoedema in both arms so they try to extract blood from her feet!
If you have to have regular routine stuff like chemo and Herceptin I suppose they'd put in a central line or portacath, but I don't have personal experience of not being able to use arms for tests.
I was told after my second lumpectomy (16 years and 18 months ago) that in future any medical procedures (eg blood tests, BP) should not be carried out on my arms. I'm now having trouble accessing a blood test. Was anyone else told this? And how did they manage to get blood tests?
