Re: Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff?

It was a pleasure to meet all of you wonderful ladies. I was emotionally drained yesterday, but have had lots of reflection time today, and am feeling positive from the weekend and very inspired by you all...strong, amazing, beautiful younger women together! I wish you all the best for your future journeys. Louise xxx

Re: Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff?

Hi everyone I'm Therese. I'm just packing ready for the event tomorrow (nothing like being organised eh?!) travelling from Carmarthen. I was diagnosed last April - four months before my wedding! But I got through it all and finished all my treatment in December. I've just had my third check up at the breast clinic. 18 months clear and another little milestone met. I'm back in work full time and my treatment feels as though it was centuries ago, although the after effects are lingering. Looking forward to meeting you all tomorrow to share experiences and hopefully lots of positives. Nos da.

Hi All,

Really good to read all your stories so far. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all. I was diagnosed in August 2016 when my son was 1yr and 1 week old. Had chemo, mastectomy and full lymph node clearance, rads, Herceptin (just finished last week!) and on Tamoxifen. I’m coming from Monmouth. Looking forward to spending time with you all. Nina x

Re: Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff?

Hello Ladies,

So lovely to read all your posts so far, really looking forward to Friday 3rd and meeting you all.

I'm Amanda, I live in Cardiff, was diagnosed a week before Christmas 2014! I had 2 lumpectomies, axillary lymph node clearance, chemox6, radio x15 (breath hold) and have been taking a daily tamoxifen since August 2015. I constantly worry about developing lymphedema and am looking forward to the group on that. I still feel like I have chemo brain, nearly 3 years down the line 😂

Have safe journeys to Cardiff and see you all on 3rd,

Amanda X

Hi All

So nice to hear from you all and all the different experiences, which I'm sure we'll share more over the weekend.

I'm Sue from Cardiff. I was diagnosed in Aug 2016 and have gone through chemo, surgery, radiotherapy and recently had my ovaries removed to make me post-menopausal. I've just started on Letrozole. I'm thinking of returning to work next Spring, and quite scared about it!!!

Look forward to meeting you soon....

Re: Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff?

Hussana...I totally agree about the emotional barriers. I've found these the most difficult, especially when they spring up from nowhere! I've been seeing a counsellor, through my hospital, and she's been great at helping me process each step. I think next weekend will provide a great deal of validation for us all, and realisation that we're not on our own x

Hi Clare,

The implant will gradually dissolve over the four week period so will be all gone by the time of your next injection.

Re: Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff?

Hi everyone

I will also be attending on 3rd Nov. I finished my radiotherapy treatment last week and had my first Zolodex.

As it is an implant do they take it out before they administer the next dose? Didn't think to ask at the time as it was all happening so fast & uncomfortable 😕

Looking forward to meeting you all

Hello

I'm really looking forward to this event, but quite nervous also - I find that since all my treatment I'm very anxious and nervous around a lot of people.  I know it'll fine ultimately 🙂

See you all soon,

Re: Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff?

Hello Everyone,

I am currently 7 weeks post surgery and just started my second round of chemo.  I am looking forward to meeting everyone at this event and be able to share experiences with each other.

I have found that there are not only physical but emotional barriers that I did not anticipate and hoping that I come away finding ways to handle them, along with in any way I can, be of support and laughter for others in similar situations.

Look forward to seeing you all.

Looking forward to meeting everyone next weekend.

I'm Sarah and I've got my final round of chemo on the Monday after the BCC event. Still got surgery and rads to go (as well as 10 years of hormone pills, etc!). I'm looking forward to the surgery workshop in particular as I'm still feeling confused about surgery options with my operation date looming in early December.

I'll be getting the train from Temple Meads on the Friday morning if anyone is coming from through Bristol and fancies a chat on the train.

Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff?

Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Together event in Cardiff but worried about going alone?

Considering booking a place but not sure?

Every year we receive queries from women, including concerns about coming along to the event on their own. Feedback from previous events has said how helpful it was to talk before the event.
This thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the Younger Women Together. I will check in regularly and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

Look forward to meeting you all next week
