Hi Sparkle i am delighted for you. So glad you got good news. Take care xx

Re: Breast Lymphoedema

Hi KellyMc

Doctor at hospital says my swelling is a normal side effect of rads and nothing to worry about.

Hope you're doing okay.

Hi Sparkle, looking forward to hearing how you get on. xx

Re: Breast Lymphoedema

Thanks KellyMc.

My boob is only slightly swollen and it's not sore at all so hopefully not lymphoedema.  I'll also have a look at the other thread. Will let you know what happens.

Re: Breast Lymphoedema

Hi Lottie Thanks for letting me know about the other thread. I will have a look on there. As you say, its not very common at all so any advice is greatly appreciated. Regards. Kelly

Re: Breast Lymphoedema

Hello KellyMc

I have breast & arm lymphodema also, there are a few of us who participate on the Lymphodema thread in undergoing treatment section, not many ladies seem to get lymphodema in the breast but there are a few , Mine is settled at the moment, saying that it is still swollen and pink but always is unfortunately ...but my last flare up was a few months ago when it was red and tender, join us on the thread if you need any advice or just for a chat

Re: Breast Lymphoedema

Hi Sparkle, I was very swollen and sore for months. I was told it was scar tissue or hormones until I was eventually diagnosed. I had a biopsy and ultrasound scan done which confirmed lymphoedema. My specialist has said its because of the rads. Its also caused by the removal of the lymph nodes which means the fluid cant drain naturally. Hopefully this will help. Will you let me know how you get on. xx

Re: Breast Lymphoedema

Hi Kelly Mc

Can I ask what symptons you had and how you were diagnosed? I'm asking because my treated boob has swollen so it is now larger than the other one. I went to the GP and she said she would refer me back to breast clinic as she was unsure what was normal after rads. Hope someone is able to answer your query.

Breast Lymphoedema

I have recently been diagnosed with breast lymphoedema and attending hospital weekly for drainage and I wear compression garments. I find the treatment painful for a few days after and am just wondering if any other people have had a similar experience?
