Hi C, thank you for your reply - I've sent you a PM.

Re: Breast Reduction & Uplift

Hi Naz
Mine has all been through the NHS. Origianlly I had an expander after mx, then gel implant and reduction to the other side. I recently had to have my implant replaced after an infection, and because it is now considerably smaller (again!) than the other one, it was my NHS p. surgeon who suggested another reduction. Do PM me if you want more details.

Re: Breast Reduction & Uplift

Hiya, can I interrupt and ask a question? Have you been able to organise this through the NHS at all? I have mild capsular contracture (mild in so far as I'm told that the surgeon would not operate at this stage but painful for me) following mastectomy and immedicate LD receonstruction and I'd like to ask for a reduction on my other breast as well as a smaller implant replacement but gather that it is not always available through the NHS, and I can't afford to pay for it privately.

Just be interested to hear your advice/views.

In the meantime, Mizzy, I wish you all the best with the surgery.

Many thanks

Naz

Re: Breast Reduction & Uplift

Hi Mizzy

I had this done on my non-bc breast this time last year. I had an implant operation on my mx side at the same time. I was in hospital for a few days, not in much pain on that side. The uplift/reduction healed well, looks very natural and the scar is very neat- has faded over time.

I'm actually due to have the procedure done again,( not because of any problem-the breast has been absolutely fine. Its to do with evening up after a change of implant on the other side.)so I spoke to the plastic surgeon a few weeks ago and he said he would expect the healing times to be pretty quick, and not require much time off work etc.

Hope of some use. All the best with yours

Re: Breast Reduction & Uplift

Hi Mizzy
I don't know if what I had is the same. When my tumour was removed I had a breast reduction mammoplasty. The surgeon took about half of the breast ( which was quite large) and replaced the nipple in the newly formed breast. I now have one small pert breast and one large one. He will to other one at a later date. If you think this is the same as what you are having please respond with any questions. ( I had it in April and it has healed very nicely )dx
