Breast after WLE

I had it after my first core biopsy! There was some bruising and the BCN thought it might have been pressing on other ducts but that doesn't explain the feeling in the other (un-biopsied) breast. I felt awful about it until I asked- immediately I was told it wasn't a serious symptom it went away. I have had "let down reflex" (which is what it's called) over the years and more since I had grandchildren. Nature provided us with this reaction so we can breastfeed all our lives, I reckon.

Thank you girls it is a relief to know as I don't remember having any symptoms of my condition (dcis)or if there is even any? maybe this feeling was and I'd forgotten but thanks to you I realised that is a natural process weird tho feeling like a breast feeding mother at 53 🙂

Understand exactly what you mean about the feeling in breast, only my feelings were, to put it nicely, quite sensual. This feeling started soon after I got home after surgery and would last from 5 to 20 min a few times a day. I must have been the only person walking around with drains and a smile on my face – thing is I had a mastectomy! Phantom boob syndrome? Couldn't tell OH until later why I was laughing, he thinks I'm mad anyway (hence the nom de plume). Unfortunately only lasted a few weeks. I'm long time post-menopausal.

Hi Looby I had exactly the same sensation too! Had my WLE on March 5th and until I read your post had forgotten about the weirdness of feeling like a breast feeding mum when I was post menopausal with bc! Just shows that the sensation passes with time. Like all things with this, each stage gets replaced with another set of weird side effs. Look after yourself x

Hi looby i know exactly what you mean i breast fed my 3 kids and am now 48 so its been a while lol and after surgery for a few wks i experienced the same i remember feeling that tingling and going this reminds me of the feeling of my milk coming in ,dont know what caused it but it did go and hasnt returned ,xx caz

Had my WLE and SNB for DCIS on the 8th may recovering well but I have what I can only describe as a feeling like you get (to ladies that have breast fed) when the milk is coming through in the operated breast also occasionally in the other has anybody else ever experienced anything like this?
