Thank you Sam and Mel. I have told him now, and he was really calm, reassuring and supportive. he understands whyi didn't say anything before. Thanks to all the good advice and reassuring posts on here, I was able to explain it to him and answer without causing him to panic. He is going to come with me when I get my biopsy results, so I don't have face that on my own.
It sounds like you're having a tough time at the moment. If you need some additional support or just to talk things through do give the helpline a call on 0808 800 6000. Here you can talk things through with a member of staff who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.
Best wishes Sam, Facilitator
Had my first appointment at the breast clinic yesterday. I found a small, hard lump in my breast on New Year's Eve and although the GP didn't think it was anything serious, she referred me. I have now had a mammograph and ultrasound that were inconclusive - probably ok but with 'irregular' edges - so had a core biopsy as well. So far I haven't told anyone as I don't want to upset or worry anyone until I know if there's anything to worry about. After the biopsy though, I can't hide it from my bf so am going to have to tell him tonight. I know that he will be really upset and worried no matter how much I try to reassure him - and possibly cross for not saying anything before. Just wish I had a definite yes or no so that I could be really clear about it all.
Anyway, thank you to everyone for past kind words and reassurances. Wishing you all well xx
