I have signed up for the trial, decided that it was a no lose situation really, if nothing else I will be closely monitored for probably 10 years which can't be a bad thing. Will be intesested to talk to others on the trial
Whilst waiting for replies you might find it helpful to call our Helpline to talk things over. They'll be able to offer practical information as well as emotional support. The opening times are 9-5 on weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays. The free phone number is 0808 800 6000.
I was diagnosed on 14th October (my birthday, lovely) and have since undergone a wide local excision and sentinel node biopsy, 2 of the 3 nodes tested positive so i then had a total node removal last Friday, results on Thursday. I have seen the oncologist and start Chemo on 13th January but they also want me to go on a trial of a drug called Caitlin. Has anyone else been on it? It is currently used for more invasive cancer than mine successfully so they now want to try it on the next stage down. Seems like I've nothing to lose really but wondered if any of you had any experience with it. It will work along side Herceptin.
Any thought would be appreciated.
