Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Weighing in early as off walking, sun shining for once! I bought a new set of digital scales and I'm not the same weight as on my old ones. So I'm rebasing at 9 stone 2 lbs and I'll see how I'm getting on next week. But OH's birthday tomorrow so a celebration meal may be in order with a few glasses of something - need to be good for the rest of the week.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Congratulations, or commiserations, all round! Weighing in late as I was up at crack of dawn yesterday to do a walk in Cumbria, 14 miles and 1500 ft of ascent, after 16 miles fairly flat on Wed, and I've lost, ta-rah, 1lb???? I think I need to a) get some digital scales so I don't have to wobble on them while I peer at the dial and b) eat less. Shouldn't have had those fish and chips in Appleby but it was all that was open, honest.
So Deed, a couple of months to go to lose the weight before the big B. my deal is £1 for every lb you lose, how at risk am I? Bankrupt me, go on!!!

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Could I please join in too. I put on about 2 stone during chemo and I've been told I have to lose a stone before I can go on the list for DIEP reconstruction. I started Weight Watchers last week and had lost 3 pounds already since being weighed at the hospital. I was 11st 7lbs last week. Weigh in tomorrow.
Anyone else on Tamoxifen finding weight loss hard?

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi everyone, sorry I'm late. Weighed myself this morning and I think im going the wrong way,I've put a lb on this week, must try harder next week. Weme.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

joining in here....i decided to lose weight just prior to my diagnosis ..and have stuck to it all the way through. On 31st October of last year I weighed 13 stone. yesterday I weighed 10stone 11lbs. (actually weigh myself in kilos and then translate)
I have done it by cutting out carbohydrates except for special occasions (like yesterday went out with friends - ate potatoes, drank beer).
I have also cut back on wine consumption.
So I dont eat potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, pastry, cakes, biscuits, sugar etc on a daily basis....eat dairy,(cheese, fromage frais, cream) meat, fish (loads of fish), vegetables (home grown) and fruit.
It really works. I dont go to the gym (aint one here!) but I garden and when the weather is fine I swim for at least an hour a day.(except the weather has not been as good as it should be here)
Am hoping to keep it up until I reach under 10 stone - maybe 91/2?
The Wii will tell me I am overweight still!!!

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi all,

If I could do that every week I would be happy.

hello fellow chubbers. I made it up and down Snowdon, but what a major slog it was especially in the torrential rain and gale force winds!! got on the scales this morning and havent lost a SINGLE POUND!!! im absolutely gutted! perhaps it was the celebratory wine and champagne but think i deserved at least a pound. will persevere and continue my walking in preparation for ben nevis and hopefully it will fall off........eventually!!!!!

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi Everyone
2lbs down for me ,which i'm very pleased with as I haven't really put my mind to it this week. It must be that I'm moving around more now that I'm back at work.
Gill 🙂

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi all, been on the scales and am very pleased to see 13 stone 2 1/2 lb so I've lost 2 1/2lbs. I will persevere but I think it's going to be a long hard slog!!

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Here I am, after lie in with the Archers omnibus and Desert Island Discs, this week Martina Navratilova who had BC in 2010 and pushes the Mammogram message very strongly.
My weight has stayed the same so still in the obese category at BMI 30.75,but still intend to enjoy Merlot this evening

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

I weighed yesterday morning as my daughter, partner and grandaughter were coming for lunch which of course involved lots of alcohol! I had lost 1lb but expect its gone back on again.Back on the straight and narrow, just had a big salad for my lunch (no alcohol) Sick of this awful weather! cant even get into the garden to do a bit of weeding. Will make the effort to walk tomorrow whatever the weather.Good luck to all x

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

10.5 (at home) However, 10.13 at the hospital on Thursday, I need to stick to the same scales! BUT last week was 11 stone on my partners.
I think perhaps I have lost a few pounds (oh dear), BUT I am on steroids since Friday , for my last (hoorah!) TAX. So spect it will go up again. Still I guess it's in the right direction.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Nobody here this Sunday? I went down to 10 10 this week, but weighed myself just now and seem to be back up to 10 12 Surely that can't be the effect of the 6 units of alcohol I've had over the weekend (party last night)?

I think it is the butter - hot and melted in that is the problem with crumpets! 🙂

Grapes are sweet as are cherries when in season or pears?

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi Foxy
Crumpets are quite low in fat so shouldn't do any harm. Triffle sponge fingers are also good if you want something sweet. Trying to get down to 9 1/2 stone have lost 10lb so far.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi every one sorry I am late too.Weighed this morning 10st 10lb. As I said before I tend to stay the same by doing a lot of walking and eating a lot of salads. My downfall is the alcohol, not that I drink every day! but at least 2 or 3 times a week.I was dx Sept 2010
Had lumpectomy, rads and on tamoxifen, just had another 6 month check up and thank goodness all ok.
Good luck to all

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi Deed ( and the rest of you lovelies)
Good luck on Snowdon (and Ben Nevis)! Not done either as I'm more a Lake District kind of girl, did Scafell to celebrate being 60. Full of admiration, pm me the link to your fundraising page for Ben Nevis and I'll base my contribution on your weight loss. I have a problem with what I call exercise negative equity. I feel so proud of myself for having exercised I treat myself with something which has more calories than I've lost! Now prowling round the house trying to avoid "elevenses" ie a toasted crumpet.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

I hope I am not too late only weighed myself this morning!
Before my op I was 12 stone - now down to 11stone 1lb (mainly because my spare tyre was surgically removed!) - my ideal weight is about 9st 7lb so I have to lose over a stone and a half!
Good luck everyone!

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

can i join in too? was actually planning to join weight watchers today.... but havent done it yet!

i was 8st 5lb before i was diagnosed in 2009 and went up to almost 10st after treatment. and by summer 2010 had managed to get down to 8st 10lb. went for hysterectomy and ballooned back up to nearly 10 stone again. then had peritonitis 5 months later in feb 2011 so was swollen and and sluggish. by summer 2011 managed to get back down to 8st 13lbs and then was diagnosed in aug.... so after surgery, chemo, rads and 'cant be arsed' body im now 10st 2lbs!

i had actually managed to get down to under 9 1/2 stone before my holiday... i cant believe how quickly it all just piles on these days... i was never one who had much weight problems so now i feel like a yo-yo dieter... even thought im not one. lol
anyway id love to get back to 8st anything... preferably 8st! but 8.13 would do.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi everyone,I have been on constant diets since I had my 4th surprise baby at age 44! he is now almost 34 and Chemo and Letrozole means I am back on the diet trail once more.when this BCC site had problems our August group took ourselves over to facebook,Originally we were known as BWF(birds without feathers)now we are hoping to be Birds without Fat,since April I have lost 8lbs all so very slow.My son bought me a Fitbit which also monitors my sleep pattern, along with this I use My Fitness Pal which is free.I have belonged to Weight Loss Resources which has a free trial, but thereafter there is a charge.I have found the fitbit and my fitness pal used together a great help and keeps me motivated.Oncologist has told me the whole thing will be slow because of my age and Letrozole usage, most questions he has from patients are about Letrozole weight gain and joint pains.
I weigh myself on a wii fit machine which mainly goes on BMI and also announces 1lbs lost.at the moment I have a BMI of 30.75 which makes me OBESE!! if I lose the .75 I will then be OVERWEIGHT!!what joy!! My weigh in this morning showed a loss of 1lb.
Love and Light xxMavis
See you next Sunday after the Archers omnibus

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hope I'm not too late to join in. I kept my hair (using cold cap) but piled on the pounds. I was 9 10 at diagnosis, a bit overweight for me, but hit 11st by the end of chemo about 6 weeks ago. Despite cutting right back on alcohol and beginning to become more active again I was still 10 12 this morning. On Letrozole which probably doesn't help. Desperate to lose a stone because apart from looking and feeling rubbish, I worry about the link between fat and recurrence.
I'll be away from home next Sunday morning, but will check in as soon as I can.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi Everyone,

Can I join you?

I finished rads in February, still on Tamoxifen. I really need to lose a stone slowly as I am diabetic as well.

I was 11 st 9 1\2 this morning.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi everyone, I'm late as well, just finished mowing the lawns. Well, here goes, I was very overweight before I got bc and unfortunately I can't blame the chemo as I didn't put any weight on then. I am also now on tamoxifen so hoping I can lose a few stone (yes, stone!) before I go on holiday in October. My starting weight is 17 stone exactly.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi
I'm 9 st this morning, was 8 st 4 lbs before DX so proportionately that's alot more. I now know what a muffin top is and I'm not keen on it. I get a lot of exercise, mainly hill walking, but I can't seem to stop the comfort eating. Now I've owned up to the fact I can get on and do something about it!
See you next week and good luck everyone.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Hi
Can I join too? I finished chemo at the end of May. I was 10 and a half stone before diagnosis and now I'm 12 stone, all seems to be on my tummy and it's uncomfortable. I used to have a waist but it's gone now. I've cut down on what I'm eating and having a walk each day but I've started taking Anastrozole so that won't help. I intended joining my local Slimming World but don't feel up to it yet.

Re: Chubb Club. Who will join me on this new journey ????

Congrats on finishing chemo Amylou xxxx

Please count me in as well, have really piled on weight over the last ten months, keep heaping the blame on Letrozole but truth be known even though I am trying desperately to lose 2 stone gained, it is so so painfully slow.See you Sunday at 10 ish
