Sarah unless you are absolutely certain you want to work part time (and earn more than the limit for national insurance payments which you can still do with tier 2 retirement) I would definitely be appealing this......you have a terminal illness and it is crazy you are not getting an enhanced pension....What medical evidence did you submit? What did occ health write and did they have the full information from your onc?....maybe you should consult the benefits advisor from macmillan if the trust pensions officer isnt up to much? best wishes Pamx
This thing about being dismissed is not necessarily a bad thing! If the trust dismiss you they usually try to do it as the ill health retirement is being arranged but before it is officially confirmed....They can then give you 3 months pay in lieu of notice.......every little helps!
I think once all the paperwork is sorted and the correct information presented to Fleetwood.....and the case is straightfoward then a decision is made in a short period of time........When I applied on grounds of terminal illness Fleetwood approved within a day or two.......Which means the pensions officer in the trust has to have a grip on how things are progressing to time things correctly for you to have maximum benefit.
