Thank you - not a huge wooping amount compared to some to come but it is paying the mortgage off which is fantastic news - treatment finished and ready to roll on with life.
Thanks everyone for all your support and advice - happy new year
Just to let everyone know that I received a phone call from the insurance company today and the claim has been successful, should be paid into the bank this week.
Thank you everyone for your advice and help, its taken about 2 weeks, which included christmas to get this paid.
Such a relief
Received the claim form - keep your fingers and toes crossed everyone even got my histology report which has the word 'invasive'!!! Thanks for your advice x
I hope it is that simple.. Just need that form to arrive in my inbox. Fingers and toes crossed it is that simple. Will keep you posted and thanks for all your help on this forum.
I hope not. Although the policy is very confusing and I had a struggle to find the pollicy and did request another one. I have the statement of payment, histology reports and all the radiotherapy dates and treatment. Just waiting for the form to be emailed over. I'll get it filled in as soon as possible. Mine was invasive grade 2 and not in situ!! So they should pay out. I just hope they don't follow that small print.clause which is very confusing.
Any advice is very gratefully received
Thanks Carol and I am just waiting for the claim form to arrive via email. I've got everything from histology report to all my dates for radiotherapy. I am hoping that the delay wouldn't make a difference. i took it out in 1997 and being paying £32 a month so they have had over £5k from me. Keep fingers and toes crossed everyone! Its just not been a lucky year and this would be fantastic news if I did finally get something.
Get the claim in as quickly as possible. I would hope that the delay wouldn't make any difference as it would be extremely hearless of them to try to wriggle out of it based on you undergoing treatment and having other things on your mind at the time.
On a smaller scale I had cover for hospital admission which I realised covered day patient appointments which I hadn't claimed for and there was a deadline of 3 months on that and I didn't realise until after 6 months but I explained to them and it was paid out.
Let me know how you get on
Can anyone give me any advice - suddenly realised last week that I have critical illness cover on my mortgage. however, when I read the small print it does say that one of the reasons a claim may be void is that I had to notify them less than 3 months after diagnosis and the problem is it has been 4 months. It was invasive stage 2 - would the claim be void as my thoughts were all over the place and trying to fight the cancer and have radiotherapy....
I am going to submit the claim as I have been paying for 15 years.
Hi Karen I too have just made a claim with friends life, how did you get on. They were very nice on the phone and they sent me forms to sign and they have contacted my Consultant who has also responded to thme yesterday. My diagnosis is Grade 1 with no lypmh node involvement, so I am not holding my breath as you read so much bad press about insurance companies, but it will make a difference to me how soon I have to rush back to work following all the treatment.
I have just been diagnosed with grade 1 invasive breast ductal cancer, I have made a claim through my friends life critical insurance policy, could anyone advise whether their claims have been successful.
