yeah apparently it's more common for cancer to occur in the left breast espcially in post-menopusal woman and men but slightly more common to be in the right breast if you're a young woman.
Hi, I'm a rightie (both times)
Age 38 1st dx - less than 1cm,
Age 49 2nd dx - 6cm - totally different cancer though - never have done things by half!

Hi, I'm also a rightie. I'm big too - not particularly big breasted, just fat so a
DCIS - no lymph node involvement - only miro-invasive cells less than 1mm so mastectomy the only treatment required.
3cm grade 3 tumour in left breast
Age 40 at diagnosis, 36C then (now 9months later 40C!)
10 lymph nodes affected
2.7cm invasive grade 3, right breast (plus some DCIS)
36AA (I agree with northern girl - I didn't think I had any breasts to get cancer in)
HER2 borderline (I'm getting herceptin just in case)
3 lymph nodes
Age 44 at dx
12 mm right breast grade 3 (plus DCIS that was not seen on mammo or ultrasound)
ER strongly + PR focally + HER strongly +
no lymph nodes
aged 55 when diagnosed
Right breast, IDC + DCIS, Oesterogen Postive score 8. Started grade 2 size 2.3cm but grew quickly to over 5cm so they think now grade 3 know more after surgery. No lymph node involvement. Bust size 34a.

That seems strange to me (lefty) because I was in a ward with 6 righties. By the way I was 55 when diagnosed.

do you find out most of this info after surgery? I do know one node is affected cos it showed up on ultra sound and examination.
I will be taking herceptin for a year afterwards they think and I don't know if there was a test that showed that but I thought maybe cos I have gone or going thru menopause??....
