Re: DCIS Pain after mastectomy

Hi Suzie, I’m glad your scan was all good. It’s reassuring to hear that others have pain long after their op. I had a mastectomy and DIEP reconstruction 11 months ago and have been concerned about how sore my breast, scars and chest wall still feel. It does increase anxiety that something must be wrong. I had an MRI today to check my other side (grim!). Fingers crossed mine will be ok too. Best wishes Jo

Re: DCIS

I revisited my doctor and she sent me for an ultra sound which I had on Thursday. I had a really kind radiologist and he talked me through what he was doing and understood why I needed check out. He did a scan on both sides of my ribs and told me everything was fine and would be sending my results to my GP. I really did appreciate him taking time to ressure me of my worried. What I would like to say if you are worring about anything go get it checked it puts your mind at rest xx

DCIS

I'm 7 years down the line from DCIS I had a mastectomy but I still worry about BC returning. Im suffering at the moment with aching rib I have been yo see my consultant and he told me not to worry and try to forget about the tightness/ache. I thought he might have given me an ultrasound to put my mind at rest. Does anyone else suffer from aches and pain around there mastectomy scar. Am I unduly worring? My consultant did tell me after my surgery that I would now live a full and normal life wish I could focus on this.
