Hi everyone, This is my first post although I have been reading posts since my diagnosis March 2014. I have usually found answers without having to post. I'm having a DIEP flap reconstruction in a couple of weeks. I had 5 weeks of radiotherapy after mastectomy and chemo. My surgeon has said there is a 1 to 2% of failure. I'm trying to stay positive as it is such a low percentage but was wondering if how much radio you have affects the results, I know some have 3 weeks of radio. My mastectomy, chemo and radio were all in 2014. anyone had a DIEP after 5 weeks radio?
