Docetaxel - severe aches and pains

Re: Docetaxel - severe aches and pains

I did get some Chlorphenamine (Piriton) at the start of my chemo infusion, which I thought was to reduce the risk of reaction to the chemo, but it may be worth asking for some more for the following few days, if it helps with the after effects - thanks x

Re: Docetaxel - severe aches and pains

I was given some antihistamines (sorry, can't remember the name) after my first round of docetaxel. I take them on the days I'm doing the injections and I had almost no bone pain at all with them. Might be worth asking your oncologist to prescribe you some for your next cycle. Good luck

Re: Docetaxel - severe aches and pains

I had my first round of docetaxel 3 weeks ago- sat having round two as I type!
Was okay the day of and after but by the Friday/Saturday I felt like I'd been run over by a bus and the reversed over!
By Sunday I had the doctor out who gave me co codamal and that helped with the pains, i then started weening myself off them -just taking at night as I was warned they become addictive - I've been addicted to them in the passed due to chronic wisdom tooth pain where I was left for 6 month and didn't want that again.
A lady of one of the forum suggested some pain relief to ask for will try and find the post - I did screenshot for reference x

Re: Docetaxel - severe aches and pains

I had my first Docetaxel 2 weeks ago and spent the first 3 days in bed with profound tiredness and dreadful joint aches and pains (probably made worse as I had spent so much time lying down)  The next 2 days, the pain was bearable but still there, but since day 6, the fog lifted and the aches and pains have gone.  I too was fine with FEC, besides feeling tired for a couple of days.  Good Luck for future rounds x

My FEC unfortunately did nothing for my tumour and I had surgery brought forward, so I'm now scheduled for 6 lots of Docetaxel.............

Hello. I'm really, really struggling- am on 2nd session of Docetaxal, having been ok with the FEC part of FEC-T
Is it normal for several days after 'T' to feel dwarfed by flu pains.
