Re: Does chemo stop periods?

I mentioned it to my nurse the other day who said she would ask the doctor if I was able to take anything x

Re: Does chemo stop periods?

When going through chemo they give you a goody bag of drugs to help you through the side effects.

I'd mention it to your oncologist and hopefully they can put a little something to help in your 'goody bag'
Good luck x

Re: Does chemo stop periods?

Thanks Nikki49. I feel like crap and so drained when I'm on. Literally stops me from doing anything for one day cos I'm so heavy and i can feel myself leaking all the time ( I don't know how many pads I go through when on each month!) I'm just not sure I would be able to deal with both x

Re: Does chemo stop periods?

Hi,
Hate to say it but in all things chemo related 'it depends'
On age, type/strength of chemo & just plain old luck of the draw.

I was 49, it stopped mine completely and for good, not had one since. My last dose was over 3 years ago.

One of the younger girls from my group became pregnant (natually) this year.
