Re: Does this sound like a breast problem?

if you are worried its better to ask though - its not being a nuisance... hope you get some answers soon.

Re: Does this sound like a breast problem?

Thanks for sharing Beck.
I'm glad you found the cause and the treatment helped you 🙂
After searching online it seems many women experience burning and itching in their breasts and the reason it can spread through your rib cage and to your shoulder is because its part of the same branch of nerves. I guess my back and neck pain could be unrelated. I'm not sure about pushing to see a breast specialist as am already being investigated for my other symptoms. I feel like a nuisance going back again. So thought I would just see if anyone else has experienced this on here.
Cheers,

Re: Does this sound like a breast problem?

Hi Yodles
After reading your post I realised you have got some similar symptoms to me. I have had an itchy left breast for a year now and also had pain in it. Also had painful/tender armpit and achey arms especially left one. Then last xmas itching started in right breast too and blue veins appeared in both. Felt very tired, breathless and pain all over my body. GP examined me and said my breasts looked fine and no sign of any lumps. He referred me to breast clinic anyway mainly for reassurance. Breast cancer nurse said exactly the same that everything looked normal and no-one seemed concerned about itching. Sent me for mammo and ultrasound just to play safe and both results were normal. U/s just showed swollen glands in left breast where the pain was and got told to take epo daily to relieve it so have been doing that and its really worked. Still dont know why my armpits and arms were so painful but have to say I dont get much pain in them now. Also had x-ray of my chest before xmas due to the pain/breathlessness but that was also normal.
Your GP should have referred you to the clinic as they cant just assume there is nothing wrong just because you dont have any lumps. I didnt have any lumps but still got referred. I would go back and politely ask that they refer you.Maybe take someone with you for support.

Re: Does this sound like a breast problem?

Hi thanks. The GP knows of the symptoms but my bloods are OK apart from inflammation, anaemia & Hugh Tryptase.
Not had anxiety issues when this started, only recently become down due to becoming too unwell to enjoy life like I used to.

Re: Does this sound like a breast problem?

It sounds quite odd. Have you asked your GP if its worth seeing a dermatologist? I would certainly ask for more tests of some sort if its impacting you that badly. Maybe go back to your GP with a written list of your symptoms and take someone else with you to support you if needed. You dont mention if you have any anxiety issues - if you do they can also cause real physical symptoms.

Re: Does this sound like a breast problem?

Thanks June I may ring that number. I just feel really silly as I maybe should've got it properly checked long before I became unwell.

Hava great weekend!

Does this sound like a breast problem?

Hi, I feel a bit silly but I've had this intense itching in my left boob with a deep burning pain that goes deep into my ribs for a few years. The pain gradually started spreading around to the side of my ribcage, armpit, and left shoulder. I only mentioned it to a Dr after having it a couple of years and he said he couldn't feel a lump anywhere. Sometimes there are tiny spots on the breasts. I felt fine so just lived eith it. But I still have this itching pain that got worse last year and now its spread to my other breast, armpit, shoulder etc but its also started in my neck and throat area. I've been very unwell the last 9 months as since this pain started in my neck I've had numb & weak arms, dizzy fainting spells, weight loss, impaired cognition, numb face, nausea & too unwell to do much at all.
I'm puzzled but the pain and itching is the same as what began in my left boob. I have mentioned it to another Dr but they just have a feel and say no lumps. Can anyone relate to this & if so, was is breast related? Should I take matters into my own hands and book to see a private breast specialist?
Cheers,
