Re: Double prostheses

We are not all the same and it can take time to get the correct fitting .
Definitely go back and get refitted. You may need to change the make of prosthesis .
The ones you have sound too wide for your frame and another make should fit better on you. When you go for a fitting take with you several bras and tops so you can see how it all fits together.
With a bit of trial and error it will be worth it.

Re: Double prostheses

Hi Dawn,

I think you should go back and get them re-fitted. I must admit I'm still using the comfy (mx was done in Jan and I still haven't got around to doing it) so am talking with no knowledge of it whatsoever, but I back ruth, self-esteem is so very important. The BCN will be fine with it - you will proabably fine that you're not the only one who has had this issue.

Re: Double prostheses

Hi there,

I've had a double, but mine dont over lap. Definatly go back and see your nurse, as many times as is needed untill you are happy. Proper prosthesis are really important especially for your self esteem.

Please go back and see the nurse, you may have the wrong sizes, there may be a different shape you can try.

It is an important part of the nurses job to look after you with prosthetics. Even if they are busy you are as important as everyone else

Good Luck.

Double prostheses

Hi ladies

After a bilateral in May, I am now using a pair of prostheses provided by the hospital.

Even in a properly fitted pocketed bra, they overlap in the middle, does anyone else have this or am I putting them in wrong?

They are triangular in shape, would it be different if they were a different shape?

I am very aware that the breast care nurses have lots of people to look after and don't want to waste their time or to be a nuisance.
