Re: Doxorubicin - any help appreciated

Yes, I seem to have a couple of days of that, then things move. I’m wondering if the liver has to cope with getting the chemo thru and out the body before going back to moving digestion on.

however, I do find a very small bowl of a bran flake cereal helps. I don’t drink enough fluids, but when I catch up things move a bit.

love and hugs

Re: Doxorubicin - any help appreciated

Thanks Moijan. Not too bad apart from the constipation from hell! It's really getting me down. Will ask the hosp for something when I go for my next dose on Tuesday. Can't stand this every session. Have tried all sorts so far but nothing working yet.

Doxorubicin - any help appreciated

Hello. I had my first IV dose of Doxorubicin on Tuesday last (6th March). I know it's only been 2 days, and I am still on the steroids and anti-sickness pills, which I understand could be masking any se's. I also realise it is still early days after the first dose, so se's could hit in the next couple of days.

I was wondering if there is anyone here who has had Doxorubicin before, or is currently on it who can advise re their se's etc.  I have read as much as I can find, but there is nothing like hearing from someone who has gone through/is going through the treatment.

My timetable is 6 doses, 1 week apart. Things will be reviewed again after that.

Any help appreciated.

I have heard from a friend from this forum of someone who had it 22 years ago as their primary chemo and has obviously done very well in the years since although now suffers from secondaries. I have hopes for this one.

Thanks. Hugs. Barton.x
