Embarking on an adventure, you are welcome to tag along

Like all adventurers, I am going into the unknown with some apprehension next week. However, I happy to have met some wonderful people here, during my preparation, since March 2010. I have found out who my real friends are and I am overwhelmed by the love I am surrounded by. Like an adventurer I am ready to push myself to the limit of my capabilities when necessary, and I know it won't be a bed of roses. however when I reach my destination after many months, I hope to arrive triumphant, and a better person.

Don't get my wrong, I have been on another adventure in 2003, so I know a little of what is entailed and I have no illusions, but I thought an up beat thread of discovery would be interesting.

This adventure is peppered with other changes in my life, as before I knew this adventure was about to start, I had plans for other things which I have decided not to cancel.

At the moment my garden is strewn with chopped down trees, so I hope "the man" will come and tidy every thing away soon (as he promised). I hope he is not a "cowboy" tree feller.

In June I am having a completely new kitchen, from top to bottom. The old one is going to be ripped out and I will have to "camp" in my own home. Luckily I have some friends who will help me pack up all the stuff, but we don't have a date fixed yet.

My adventure will also be planned around a special holiday (leaving 25th July for 2 weeks)

So if your adventure is starting too, or you would like to help me on mine I will be very happy. I am sure there will be a lot to discover and share.

All the best to one and all, Maria

PS check my profile for the more boring details of my adventure

Hi All,
Just a really quick note to say I am still around and reading...been very busy building my work time up and am now back in full time...it is so tiring yet I just fall asleep when I get home. 4 weeks to the 6 week hols. I may be on my knees by then. At least we have the cruise to look forward to.
Everyone at work has been brill and I am really enjoying getting back to work.
Kanga and Sandra, thank you for the entertainment (even if you did get told off for it) it gave me a much needed laugh out loud so much that the dog thought I had gone mad!!!!

Vickie, sorry for not being in touch for ages and ages we do need coffee meets but when I am not so sure, see what we can sort out

Hi to all others, special hugs to Karen, hope the apptmt went well on Monday and very well done on the race for life so soon after surgery, I admire your determination you are a star xx :-)))))
Hugs also to those who have relatives who are having yukky times, there always seems to be something.
We have been toing and froing from Southampton as daughter has had some big problems the past few weeks too..crikey when I said I wanted life to be 'back to normal' I didn't realise it would include all the c**ppy things too!!!! Never mind it keeps me busy and my mind off other nasty things.
Going for another scan on tum next Tues as still having mega probs with bloatedness...I am now thinking that it is caused by the Tamoxifen, had a chat with the pharmacist about it who said if the Tamoxifen is working then I would be inclined to just tolerate the tummy stuff...easy said though, he's not the one who's a walking space hopper every time he eats!!! Oh the joys
well better sign out and get to bed....one more day then it's the weekend hurrah!!! Going to see Billy Elliott on saturday 😉

bye for now hugs for all my buddies

ok seem to have sort of solved the problem of not getting friends onto breastfriends, because l have added Jayne Murdoch, so l think it is because Jill and Debbie are new, perhaps they have to be on fb for 12/24 hours, when you press add and start typing their names they usually come up, but Jill and Debbie (Nells friend) dont come up, so perhaps tomorrow we can try and add them again!

Oh Izzy hope the calf doesn't come while OH is at the pub, or you will have to get your rubber gloves on!!
Oh Nell what do you mean Izzy makes you feel tired, what a lovely job she has rounding up the lambs! l would love that!! even three times a day Izzy!

I have just been outside rounding up pet lambs who keep getting out of their field, little b---ers, 3rd time today, they were getting under the gate, so i've barracaded it up, I hope. Also had another new calf tonight, only 2 left to go, could take a while yet though.
Having a quiet night, boys gone home and OH gone to the pub, peace or what !!!

I hope everyone is having a quiet and peaceful night,

Hugs to all

Hi everyone,

Oh Karen, what a bugger about your results. Monday must seem a lifetime away before you find out any more.

I've made it to Fb at long last. Trying to make friends with all of you. Think it's going to take me a while to get the hang of it.

Kanga, your Meerat/kat must be a man, he sure knows how to have a strop! see he is still sulking!! spoilt brat!

Jill still looking for you!

Had a teddy bears picnic today, with dil and grandson number 2, it was an introduction to his new 'big' school.

cancelled my hair appointment for next week, decided l would let it grow a little longer!!! lol, just still seems too short to cut.

dil's Mum has been moved to a nursing home! seems she can't spend he last days/weeks in hospital!!

Had a nice meet the other day, luckily Jackie wasn't there so the security guards were given the day off! seems they have all been called in for 2nd July!! our next meet with Jackie!!

Grandson number 2 was swimming yesterday, all of a sudden he jumped up to say something and hit his chin on the side as he came down! blood!! got him out quickly so he didn't turn the pool red! the lifeguard and dil took him to first aid, l sat talking to one of the Mum's all of a sudden l saw dil walk back looking very white, she said she came over funny, watching the blood, so she had to go outside, while l took over! had to laugh, completely forgot she doesn't like blood or sick!! but she usually copes, but there was quite a bit and he was very white! anyway all was well and they put a couple of butterfly strips on it, only about 1/2" long but quite deep. said he may need a stitch, but we decided not to take him to hospital, not sure they would have put a stitch in it! so we really didn't fancy sitting in A & E for 4 hours or more!
We think he came out in sympathy with his girlfriend who goes to playgroup and swimming with him, seems she fell off the climbing frame in the morning and knocked her four lower teeth inwards. So her Mum had to make an emergency dental appointment, they are not sure if they can save them, so no rock or toffee for her for a few weeks!!
Hugs all round

Hi Jill , so sorry you are having a rough time . It´s not easy is it . "Moving on " sounds such aneasy concept , but your emotions are so raw , and if you are in a black hole it´s an awful climb to get back up. Such a shame you´ve so much to do on your return . Other people don´t understand , try as they might .
As to FB , please give it a go . We have got a closed forum , so nobody else can read anything that we write , so we don´t upset family or friends , and if we want to sound off we can , and also , we can have a bit of fun without offending anyone . It is easy , hell , I managed it ...........eventually !Send a pm with your email and we can invite you in .
I´m sure , like carol , if only you had the time and the weather , you would get a lot of benifit out of being able to go onto your allotment. I find nature so soothing , adore my walks with Jack in the morning .
We all feel good at times and think , "ah I´m moving forward . " Then something always happens to knock us back , for me usually something really silly that I should be able to get over , no problem , so ,you are in good company .
((((HUGSSS))))

Karen has had her op and waiting for her results; we're all there with her waiting.... Oh and she did the Race for Life on Sunday with her daughter; just 10 days after her op - isn't she amazing!

Hello to all of you, yes I am still here. Sorry for not posting for a while. I got a virus on my computer that took a few system scans to get rid of and OH advised me not to be entering any passwords online until we were sure it had gone.

Thank you for thinking of me, I have had an up and down few weeks. I am facing a huge office move at work. I work in an archive so am looking at moving 40,000 files!! It is turning out to be very stressful at times as I seem to be doing all the co-ordinating for the move. It is not great timing after being off for so long. I have been feeling very down, culminating in yesterdays meeting with one of my managers when I just cried and cried. I felt such a fool, I just couldn’t help it, she was very nice about it, but I did feel so stupid which made it worse. Then I feel bad about being so down, when why should I feel like this, all my check ups were fine, I’ve no sign of a recurrence or secondary’s or any other crap that other people have. I’m supposed to be getting on with life, not lying awake at night staring at the ceiling and crying at the slightest thing. Sorry for moaning but you lot will understand. I do want to move on but all this bc nightmare keeps following me.

Carol – I have not been busy at the allotment, it keeps chucking it down with rain or blowing a gale up here in Scotland. I did have to go up one morning just to check the shed was still standing, ours was but a few had blown over.

Kanga – I loved your “toothbrush” post; I kept laughing out loud when I was reading it. My son (aged 16) kept asking what I was laughing at but I didn’t tell him.

Might just go and try getting onto fb, I want to keep in touch with all of you.

Any update on how Karen is getting on?

There you are Sandra , now see what you´ve done !! Meerat won´t talk to me , he reckons I´m going to sell his body ! As if ..............would´nt make a decent casserole for one !

Yes , Carrefour , yet another Kanga / Heather moment .

Was fed up with my hair being so light , don´t like it too pale blonde, so I was looking at colours . I wanted casting or something just long lasting ,but not permanent . Could I find anything ? Anyway , busy translating boxes to see what they said and I could feel some grit in my shoe , so I rubbed my foot back and forth to try to dislodge it , did´nt work . Was getting fed up with it now , so I lifted my foot and swiped the sole with my finger to get rid of it , and b***** me , it was a big piece of glass . Well I´d no sooner realised that then of course my finger just dripped blood everywhere , colourant boxes , the floor , OH was trying to find a tissue he had´nt wiped something on , when the security man came along ( rather nice too !) said i would have to go with him to get it dressed . So off I sorted leaving OH plus trolley . All the way through the store with everybody probably thinking , I had half of Carrefour under my top , ( did´nt have the opportunity to tell them that no ....that was all me !) Ended up in this little room where he proceeded to wash out my finger , took my name etc , I suppose in case I wanted to sue Carrefour ( in Spain , not a chance !! ), told me it needed stitches , I agreed , but thought , " not on your nelly , spent 3 hours down casualty the night before with OH when his stitches from his op started bleeding ! ) so he bandaged it all up , then he walked back with me to where OH was queuing with the trolley and he let me through , seeing as I had the card and had to pay .
So I did´nt get my hair colourant , however i did find one in the back of the cupboard , so I shall try that tomorrow I think .
Heather , how come you don´t get into trouble , you´re still googling and finding out all about that shhhh ...whisper.....thing that moves in your hand ....no not your mobile , thats Sandra .So sorry you are having such trouble with family , there´s never an end to it , but at least it means we´re still all here . Hope they sort your legs out , must be so uncomfortable .
Carol , how many more herceptin treatments have you to have ?
Don´t know about your weather girls , but it´s soooooooo hot here .
Will go now , see if I can appease Meerat .

Hi Ladies I have stopped giggling now, I went to sse my daughter today, it was her birthday, I was telling her about the naughty girls on our thread. When I was telling her about Sandras post hubby piped up saying that one of my friends told us about her experiance with fore named appliance. He thought when I read it to him that the reveiws where what Sandra had been up to lol I know now why he asked when were having a meeting lol
Well I have been to see the consultant today about red swelling legs, and guess what? he is puzzled, so I have got to go and have a scan on the veins in both legs to see if there is something showing. Then he said come back and see me and we will have a talk about it. so wait wait and more waiting
Went to Banbury yesterday to see hubbys family, FIL's hair was coming out so hubby took the clippers down and clipped it off. I got a bit upset because it bought it all back to me, hubby was a bit upset to do it because he said he didn't think he would have to do that again for somebody suffereing cancer. The thing that upset me the most though was MIL, hubby cut his dads her outside, while they where out there MIL just broke down, it is the first time in all the years I have known her I've seen her cry. She is not a person that shows her emotions easy, I think it did her good to get it out. I did say though that if FIL's op goes ok and he is in there for 10 days, if she sorts some visitors out for a couple of nights hubby will fetch her to stay. She was really pleased about that, she said she would just like a break for a few days, the thing is she is still ill and losing a lot of weight and nobody knows why. She was losing weight before FIL took ill, but it could be the worry now that is causing her to lose more weight.
Well ladies I will love you and leave you,
Take care, and be good, (sandra and Kanga 🙂 )
Love Heather,

I did´nt , I did´nt , I did´nt !!!
My life will never be the same . I can just see it . Come August when I¨m due to come to the UK to babysit , as I walk through customs at Bournemouth , there will be pictures of me on the wall . I´ll present my passport and whoosh !! I´ll be on the next plane back to Spain ( courtesy of Ryanair ) will be denied entrance cos of lewd behaviour and leading a group of breast cancer survivors astray !!
Ryanair of course will want to charge me extra cos I´m not a preferred client .
Then I´ll get back here and the "Costa Del Sol news " will print my picture as one of the UK´s most "Wanted ", or in my case "Unwanted ! The Guardia will turn up at my gate with an international arrest warrent from Interpol . The next thing you know they´ll be stiching me up with anything they have´nt been able to solve . They´ll probably try to pin Shergar on me !!I know these things , I´ve seen it on the telly .Whoa ,whoa , and thrice times whoa !!
Oh my goodness ,oh my soul , there goes Kanga down the hole !!
Hope you´ll be on my side Sandra , when the chips are down , remeber , it could happen to you . Next time you´re in M&S , they might have your picture up by the tills , "Don´t serve this woman :!"
Sackcloth and ashes are called for I think !
I think my fame has gone before me . I ended being escorted out of Carrefour on Saturday , by a security guard . If you want to know more , you´ll have to wait !
luvKanga,I´m going to cough , the ashes are getting into my throat !!

Sneaks round page to see if l have been banned………No, not yet!!

Went out this morning rummaging around the charity shops, came back
with lots of jewellery, very brassy (oops), family coming tomorrow, so decided l would have a treasure hunt! l already have a treasure chest, so got lots of bits and bobs, anything that sparkles!! With of course a few treats, so with modern day lego in the treasure box, the brassy (oops) jewellery and pearls , medals, crystals, with be hanging around the trees and bushes, hope it doesn’t rain, otherwise they will be hanging round indoors!!

Then went in to see the wig lady, she had a look at my hair and said it is still chemo damaged!! So she is going to leave it another few weeks before she gives it another cut, decided l wanted another wig! Little bit shorter than l have, but the same colour, mine is ok but seen better days, not sure it will last another few months!! Because it seems as though that is going to be how long before l can go topless! (oops) meant to say headless!

Came home and decided to change my drawers (oops) l mean change what is in them! Going back now to when l had my first Op l had £400 in my purse, can’t remember why, must have be going to buy myself something or treat myself to a massage! ( oops)
Anyway OH said put it somewhere safe and l will put it in the bank tomorrow, so off we went to hospital……5 months later (yes l know, so much going on though) l realised l hadn’t seen the wallet the money was in, searched high and low, OH said he forgot to put it in and doesn’t know what happened to it! Spent one whole day looking for it, then gave up, told sons somewhere in the house there is £400, so be careful what you throw out!!!
Well today l pulled the drawers right out and as l was putting them back one got stuck!! Tucked right at the back was my £400!! What an idiot, but l am good at hiding things!!

Not eaten much today, just had a little humble pie! And then decided l would have a humbug (bah! Oh l can hear a Lamb!!)

Heather keep it clean!! not sure about your haemorrhoid cream!!

Kanga, you haven't been attacking OH with that hammer have you!!
Lovely photo, is it your sister!!

Oh yes he also sang 'You need Hands' (oops)

Sorry Mods, no rudeness intended!! all light hearted!
Be good now promise! (fingers tightly crossed)

Very glad it made you chuckle , as you say , we´ve all had enough to cry and worry about . Now you just have to make sure you get the right toothbrush .
Alltogether girls ,

I did´nt lower it Sandra you did !! I only told everyone about it , you went into graphic detail ! Actually I thought you made a very good job of selling it , not on commision are you ?
Sorry Jo and other mods , but I bet it cheered a few people up , they thought they wer coming onto a BC site , all ready to be worried and upset , and there they are having a laugh , can´t be all bad can it ?! But point taken .
Reminder me , never to ask to borrow Sandra´s mobile to make a call ! And I bet that gave a few ladies ideas they may ot have had before . If Heather lands up in casualty , we´ll all know why !
Talking of casualty .
Yesterday , we had to go to Malaga , my OH had to have a cancerous mark removed from his forehead . It was done five years ago , and had clear margins but it´s come back . So it ws done and eventually we left the hospital , at 1.40 ( 9.30 appoint ) He had lunch absolutely fine , then went for a lie down , w´d been up and out since 7.30 . When he got up and came in I nearly had a fit , all the dressing was soaked in blood . So off we went to "Urgencias " , very efficient , but after re-dressing his head , we had to wait to make sure it did´nt start again . So we got home at 8.50 .What a long day .
You notice Meerat has gone , you´ve really upset him Sandra .He´s got a right toot on .
lotsofluvKangaX
ps . Are you sure it has to be a Braun ?
pps .Answers on a postcard in a brown envelope please!

Ok l really think Kanga should put the full information up, someone like Heather needs the correct info otherwise she will be in all sorts of troubles!!

1/ You need a Braun Toothbrush, check which ones are ok, not all Braun are suitable! Hence some people getting them stuck and ending up in A & E!

2/ They recommend a cheaper toothbrush as they give you a better ‘experience’ than the more expensive ones!

3/ It is not a very big vibrator, so make sure you hold on very tightly to it! Easily sucked in!

4/ It is recommended you use aquas cream if you are ‘dry’ sure you rads ladies have that in your bottom drawer!

5/ It can also be used on the nipples, for those ladies that have one or two!

6/ Read some of the reviews and judge for yourself!
As you will see l have also added my comments!!

‘l came like a train’ - l hope it was a high speed one or l would want my money back!

Very intense and it certainly does the job – a bit like my toilet cleaner

It’s incredible that something so tiny can turn a grown woman into a squealing heap in less than a minute – what sort of woman will admit to squealing in a heap in less than a minute!!

Alex and I lay back in bed totally naked. I fitted the head to my toothbrush and turned it on. To my surprise and delight the power was amazing. Alex settled in beside me, he loves to watch me masturbate. – typical man, only do one thing at a time!!

Then OMG! Before I had any chance to compose myself my orgasm hit like a tidal wave without warning and my upper body raised from the bed as I screamed out with delight. – she probably had a heart attack and an outer body experience!!

I know too much information, just thought you ladies needed to know before you purchased, would hate any ladies with weak hearts to have a heart attack!

Personally l think l will stick to my mobile phone which has a lovely vibrator on it!

So Kanga, you have nearly white hair! Over here we call it silver!! Think perhaps the black with purple would look rather attractive.

Love and hugs to you ladies and Kanga's Meerkat!

Oy !! He´s a Meerat cos he´s "me rat in he ?" And know he´s well p***** off with you all and not talking to me .......see what you´ve done !
I had my colours done once , but my hair was very very blonde then , almost white , so they would´nt apply now . Mind you it´s gone a bit too blonde now , what with the sun , want to put a toner on it but the only one I know is "Casting " and the choice of colours here is black , black with red in , black with blue in , black with purple in ,black...........get the drift ?
Now ladies , from the person who first brought you the "Shewee ",I bring you the " TINGLE TIP".
Apparently this is your friends best kept secret . I´ll not cast aspersions on your friends but...........It is of course , for all those who have´nt guessed , or don´t already own one ........a vibrator !1
This is reccommended by "experts " ( what sort of experts !?) and is great for travelling .I don´t know if they mean you can use it on the bus , or in the car . I know you can be fined for talking on your mobile , whether you can be pulled over if you have one of these stuffed up your duff I don´t know.
I have to tell you , that it is small , discreet and FITS ON YOUR ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH !!!
Now , I don´t know about you lot , but my mind boggles ! What happens if you make a mistake and forget to change heads ( no pun intended !) It would be like sweeping your chimney !! My god , that would put hairs on your chest , especially if there was abrasive toothpaste on it ! Take your mind off your headache would´nt it ?!
Anyway , it´s only 9.99 with a money back guarantee , can you imagine , casualty on a busy night , and there you are , walking decidedly funny with this thing , what happens if you´ve got faulty batteries ( they do comefrom China you know ) and the thing won´t stop ? Talk about bring tears to your eyes.
I´ll leave you with that then , well , not literally , metaphorically speaking , that is , unless you´re sat there with your tingletip , plugged in or charging up !!
as ever luvKanga

Thanks Kanga - your post made me lol the bit about keeping your mouth shut.... We're not paying for WW - we did last year before all the C cr@p so still got all the stuff etc, and just using that. It's the old system, but hey it's working!

I like your meercat too! and you're ballerina Sandra - what's the story behind that one?

Sandra have you got a date yet to discuss options for recon - or have I missed that too? dohh.....

(((extra hugs))) for K and everybody else having a cr@ppy time.

Sandra , my Meerat is very upset with you , he said he is no relation to those on the television , he´s a mutant from the garage rats .
Nell ! Fantastic , you have been good to lose a stone , I´m sooo jealous !! Mind you , if i shut my mouth and stopped putting stuff in it , I might lose some weight . WW here is dreadfully expensive , it´s 11 euros a session , no way can I aforf that .
Sad times Sandra for your relatives and also for Heather´s . Who goes with your FIL Heather ? He sounds as if he really needs somebody to check everything for him . Fancy giving him the wrong meds , and how would anyone know if what they are saying now about it "being the same " is correct? Sounds very convenient to me , or maybe I just have a suspicious mind .
I agree , I think cancer in general is much more common , is it just that it´s detected more often , or is it our increasingly toxic world ? When I think , that in the four houses neares to us , 1, my neighbbour has mouth /throat cancer , 2.I have had breast cancer , and my husband has skin cancer ,3. across the road ,our lovely neighbour John died of prostate cancer , and so it goes on . But , the survival rate is now so much higher , so that it´s not as it was twenty years ago .
Back to Maria´s dilemma , and religion . Our other neighbour here ( fit and healthy !! ) was jewish , he lost his wife 15 years ago , and turned to catholisism (?) he´s one of the happiest , most kindly people I know . Swears like a trooper , but rarely in front of me , a really lovely man , who tries very hard to abide by christian teachings .The charity I work for is ecumenical , so all (christian ) faiths are welcome , it´s controlled by the bishop of Malaga , and the lady Gloria who runs it is a very devout catholic , , again , one of the lovliest most charitable people I have ever met , will always go that extra mile , for anybody . Anyone that turns up at the centre with a problem will be helped .I´m not really anything in particular now , but I very much belive in trying to help your neighbour , and doing unto others etc . Trying , and achieving can be two different things , cos i have a very unholy temper .
Karen , I was shocked to hear your news , I´m so very sorry that you have to face this other hurdle on top of everything . My advice in this is worthless as I´ve not been where you are today or where most of the others have had to go , but listern to Maria , she´s been there ,twice , and our Sandra , who was so upset last year at losing her breast , saying now that she almost wishes that she did´nthave the other as to her it´s a source of constant worry . The good thing is that the cancer in this breast is in situ so it´s going no where , as Maria said , another primary .My heart goes out to you .

Dee forgot to say about losing the weight, well done help me !!!!!!!! good luck with starting back to work:-)
Maria I forgot to say I have been reading about your decision about your son on face book, how difficult it must be for you. I dont really understand the catholic teachings, but I looked after a gentle man with learning difficulties and he turned catholic. When he was in a bad place with mind he used to be shouting hell fire and damnation, and nashing of teeth. He came from a lovely family, dad was a doctor and mum was a lawyer and they couldn't understand why he had done it, but that was what he wanted. Does he have to go to a place that are run my religion or beleives, isn't there anywhere which is neutral beleifs.I hope you find something soon because it must be playing on your mind ((((hugs)))

Hi Ladies I am still around, been reading stuff on Fb. So sorry to hear Karens results,Thinking of you Karen.
Dee, I am sure I have read about your mamo being ok, really hope it was.
Sandra, I know some of how your feeling at the minute with the problems with people you know. It is an awful disease,I just dont understand how some people get over it and others last for months. Really sorry to hear about your DILs mum, I know you are very close to your DIL's so I know you will be upset for her.
Carol, hows the back? we had potatoes out of the garden yesterday. I asked hubby to plant some because it is years since I have had home grown potatoes, they were lovely yum yum. When we went up to Manchester on Sunday to see take that I kept looking at all the garden centres, but I couldn't remember what the one was called that you used to work.
You have probably read about my Take That adventure on Sunday, forgot to say I had an incident though. We were sat in the car waiting to come out of the ground, I was in the back because my daughter doesn't travel very well. We where sat there in the queue next minute my door was flung open and there stood this man. I looked at him and in my posh voice I said ' yes can I help you' he looked at me shut the door then tried to open the front passenger door, my daughter was trying to lock her door hanging on to it. Then he staggered away, he looked very drunk. He just stood leaning on the wall, whether he thought we was his lift, or he thought he would jump in a car an ask for a lift I dont know. The thing is he would have stood no chance getting a lift with us,I was in the back with a picnic basket, a bag with drinks and a flask. We had the picnic basket open, so there were rolls, sausage rolls, savoury eggs, pork pies, crisps and cakes all over the place, it looked like we were having a buffett lol My daughter was killing self laughing at me say 'Yes' in my posh voice lol
Well I hope all you other ladies are ok, is Isabelle back from her sexy Paris holiday? hope shes had a good time.
Well I have 4 more birthdays this weekend, daughter, grandson,FIl and brother, and fathers day, thats it then after hubbys daughter birthday on 6th of July till September thank goodness.
Well take care everyone,
Love Heather,

So sorry to hear your news Sandra. What a difficult time for you.
K, I am here if you need me
Dee, Good luck with starting work again
Carol, I am glad you are enjoying the fruits of your garden
Heather, I am thinking of you too
I am afraid my mind is completely taken up with my search for a place for no 2 son, but at least it takes my mind of my bc. Except when I remember why it is necessary to find him a place soon (in case I don't last until I am 90) I am in a bit of a dream world.

HUgs to you all, those who read and those who post

Woke this morning feeling really good, still got bad back, but talking emotions here!! The sun was shining.
Had arranged to take my Mum out to Lunch, so l thought a nice relaxing day.

When l got back l had a phone call from dil, the hospital had phoned to say her Mum only has a few days to a week, and they were going to move her to a nursing home the following day! Dil was in tears, didn’t want her Mum moved, they were caring for her really well in the hospital, the hospital said she would be better off in a home! They probably wanted the bed, which is understandable, but the poor woman to move her at this late stage! Told dil to speak to the home, which she did and they thought she would be better off in the hospital. So at the moment that is where she is. Very sad time.

Then had a phone call from my youngest sons ex girlfriend, her mil had been diagnosed with a brain tumour at Christmas, they only gave her a couple of years, with chemo and rads. But she a problem with the chemo, seems she had a reaction to it, they admitted her to hospital, and she had a heart attack and died. Hospital said this was only the second person to have this fatal reaction in 30 years. No consolation to the poor lady.

By then my good feeling had gone! Is it me or is there more cancer about these days?

One bit of good news, had an email yesterday from my friend in Australia, she was diagnosed with bc 21 years ago, and the oncologist gave the all clear for another year, yes she still sees him after all this time! She was grade 3 with node involvement, she never knew how many because her brother said she mustn’t be told, as she was so stressed!! Meant to ask her how long she took Tamoxifen for, l know it was a lot longer than 5 years! Obviously do it different out there! She had a mx and 18 months later she had a local recurrence, which they gave her rads, and since no problems. Fingers crossed!!!
Jill where are you?
