Embarrassing question!

Re: Embarrassing question!

You weren't just "peeing red" were you? FEC has some colouration in it that makes this happen, usually your chemo nurse will warn you though. Mind you if it didn't happen the first time round why should it do it the 2nd! Might be worth mentioning it the next time you have Chemo or phone your BCN for advice.

Re: Embarrassing question!

Hi kelly I was the same.  Chemo plays havoc with your cycle. My periods come either a couple of weeks early or late. I was told not to worry about it.  I am premenopausal but am 49 so expected to be put into a forced menopause but if you are younger your periods may stop but should return after a few months.

Re: Embarrassing question!

Hi. You might considering calling your nurse over this.

Re: Embarrassing question!

Hi Kelly,

I had episodes of spotting between my periods whilst on FEC x3, told by my oncologist that it was the chemos effects. My periods have now stopped..after 3rd FEC, and im due to have my last Tax in Sept. My onco has said its likely my periods wont return but you never know!

Definitely contact your team and let them know though...its always best to keep them informed of whats happening and get reassirance.

Re: Embarrassing question!

Hi Kelly, I had FEC in November 2013, and my periods for the first 2 FEC were all over the place, think I managed 3 short periods in a 6week space! Last thing you need when you are having Chemo. However after FEC 3 they stopped and didn't return until a year after my Chemo finished.....that's a whole other story!

Just remember your body is going through a lot. But definitely worth mentioning to your oncologist, although from my experience it's nothing to worry about...unless you are having any other symptoms.

wishing you all the best for the rest of your treatment xx

Embarrassing question!

Hi I've never posted before I usually just read! I've just had my 2nd fec chemo this morning. A couple of days ago I started leaking a blood tinged fluid from down stairs. My period isn't due for another week and there's no chance of being pregnant as I'm sterilised and haven't had sex since diagnosis. I just wondered if anyone else has had this with chemo. Did anyone's periods stop all together? I hope no one minds me asking this! Thank you. Kelly
