FNAC what is it? hi.

hello to everyone, im a newbie to the forum. have been on for a few weeks viewing posts which have been very encouraging for me. reason being that at the slightest sign of a lumpy thing, we all fear the worst(myself included) this may not be the case.

i am asking for anyone that can tell me what happens and if/how painfull a FNAC (Fine needle aspiration cytology) is?

I had a FNAC twice on lymph nodes when I had to have core biopsies done twice. I didn’t find it painful at all and I don’t think it was because they had given me a local for the core biopsy because they were a distance from my lymph nodes. They just put a thin needle in and take off some fluid.

I’ve had loads of FNA and they really dont hurt one good thing is they can usually give you some idea of results immediately.Good luck Val
