Yes I have down days round Chemo, I found losing my hair was difficult to face ( My hair was down to my bum) but once it started I just felt I had to face it. The NHS long wig is fab, somebody said it was better than my real hair, not sure how to take that!! I have scarves in every colour, sparkle and style,I find them easier to throw on than the wig and more comfortable for everyday, people thought I was going through a hippie stage at 1st but they got used to it quite quickly and it encouraged them to offer support.I have discovered friends I didn't know I had. I've learned to accept support and let people know when I just want to curl up at home. I've yet to have surgery so i still have some of your stuff to face but like the lady said 'chin up' you will get through this.
Ps give cold cap a try one lady at our chem has long hair and not lost any. It's uncomfortable for 1st 15 mins but not unbearable.
Me too..Come on chick, you can do this. You are a strong beautiful lady. If you need to hide under the covers and cry all day...do it, what harm will it do. You'll have good days but you'll have some pretty bad days too. Put on your favourite film/box set, sit with a cuppa and your feet up, ignore the phone. We have to have those sad/down days...it will make you enjoy the up days so much more.
Keep strong...big virtual hug coming your way......((((((((HUG))))))))
