Flamazine for burns

Re: Flamazine for burns

Hi ladies

Thanks for your replies. Lu I'm glad it worked really well for you, it's encouraging to know it did so hopefully it will for me also ( topless sounds good but with the blinds closed). Thanks again Lu.  Busyanne I have been using aqueous cream, in the shower and applying all the time. The hospital gave me hydrogel for burn initially as skin was raw but that didn't work either. It will heal I know so will just have to be patient.

I hope you are both doing well

Re: Flamazine for burns

Kathy03, I think most people get some level of burns which are quite painful or at the least uncomfortable.  I had some burning but occurred towards the end of treatment.  I was given aquaeos cream, sorry if not correct spelling.  It is good to rub in and can also be used in the shower as a wash.  I found it excellent and used it until my blisters cleared.  I have no experience of the medication you have been given but I am sure if the GP prescribed it you need to use it.  Ask your breast care nurse for her views.  Kind regards

Re: Flamazine for burns

Hi Kathy

I burnt badly too and was given flamazine cream - it was brilliant. I applied a thick layer, didn't rub it in, just left it on the surface and remained topless as much as possible (just had to remember to put something on before answering the door!).

Hope it helps you as much as it did me

Hi Jaye

Thanks for your kind words. Glad you got through your radiotherapy ok. I'm sorry to hear you're sore, fingers crossed it won't get any worse.

Take care

Re: Flamazine for burns

Hi Kathy

Sorry to hear you are still suffering with your burns - I can't help with your question but just hope that your new cream does the trick.

I think I remember you said you had 20 rads - I just finished my 15 today and pretty sore tonight, but imagine the extra 5 make a big difference.

Hope your burns improve soon

Flamazine for burns

Hi

Has anyone used flamazine for radiotherapy burns. I've been prescribed this by my GP as have bad burn and blisters following treatment which ended 19th May. I just wondered how effective it is.
