Thanks for your kind words Annie....it means a lot x

Re: Getting anxious despite assurances.

You're not a wuss, Mabe - we all feel really, really anxious waiting for test results! And I, for one, have all sorts of aches, pains and stomach cramps between-times as well. I think it's normal/usual to get exaggerated symptoms when we're so worried...
Good luck for Thursday

Re: Getting anxious despite assurances.

Thanks Anna. I did call the helpline when I was first told I'd be having surgery and they were very lovely and helpful.

I'm getting more and more concerned now, I think my mind is in overdrive and not doing me any good at all.
I'm getting terrible aching all up the left side of my neck and into my ear, it's really painful. I'm taking Codiene, Paracetamol and Ibruprofen but it's just not stopping it.
Thursday is so far away!

Getting anxious despite assurances.

Hello everyone,

I am waiting for the results of my operation to remove all the major ducts behind my left nipple and getting increasingly anxious, even though it's likely to be fine.
I was told by my Surgeon that he suspects it is just an Intraductal Papilloma, but because the fluid smear showed epithelial cells, traces of blood cells and general debris that all the major ducts needed to be removed in case there is something more sinister going on in the ducts.

I was referred to the Breast Clinic on 29th May (it's all been so fast!) because I was getting sharp shooting pain directly behind my left nipple, the nipple kept going very hard/erect and tender to touch, aching pain in the outside area of the breast that spread up into my neck and through to the shoulder blade and round to my left armpit. I was also producing a clearish/tinged fluid from the nipple.
Mammogram was clear.

Since the surgery, which was on Monday 17th June I've started to get more and more concerned that something isnt right. The pain from the surgery is minimal but I am still getting the aching all over.

I go back to get my results on Thursday 27th.

I wonder if any of you had a similar diagnosis or symptoms......sorry for seeming such a wuss, Thursday just seems so far away!

Many thanks,

Mabe x
