Fantastic news Kim xxx

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Jaye,
Just wanted to let you know that I had the best results I could have expected on Thursday, only a 4mm of anything cancerous found and all low grade and no nodes all clear , have been put on Tamoxifen now and have an meeting with oncologist on Tuesday week to discuss radiotherapy but surgeon very happy with clearance and minimal findings so Huge relief to us! I feel like I've been handed my life back and can breathe again for the first time in weeks! The very best news I could have hoped for and will happily go through a few weeks of radiotherapy and take tablets for the rest of my life if need to be to keep well, after the nightmare we have lived under the past couple of months we are on cloud 9 right now, hope you are keeping well, love jo ️Xx

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Jo

What you are feeling is quite normal, I think we all have ups and downs, it's such a rollercoaster ride.   You will have felt great that the op is over and then our mind starts to think of the next step which is waiting for results.

Try to pamper yourself and recover from the op.  No doubt you will have been given excercises to do, they really help to get the arm moving.

Everything sounds very possitive for good results as being tubular cancer it is usually slow growing and low grade.

All the best

Jaye x

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Jaye,
I'm almost 47 so have been told I will be an ideal candidate for hormone treatment, won't get my results until next Thursday but am expecting 3 weeks of radiotherapy, have been told mine was a 10mm area and low grade so here's hoping they are right! feeling a bit sorry for myself today although not in any pain at all now which is good, think now hubby's gone back to work after pampering me all weekend Im a bit deflated but my niece is on her to cheer me up 😊 hope you are well love Jo xx

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Jo

Glad to hear you aren’t feeling too bad.

I didn’t manage to get back to driving until just before 2 weeks after my op, thought I would do it in a week but mine was left side and there was no way I could manage the handbrake my arm just felt so weak – it soon improved though in a few weeks and was back to normal.

I was like you, had to go back 2 weeks after op for results.  I was very lucky compared to a lot on here, I had a 9 mm lump removed with clear margins of 6mm and no lymph involvement.

I had to have 15 sessions of radiotherapy.   I had my op on 4th March 2014 and my radiotherapy started on 13th May 2014 so there is still quite a bit of waiting around for appointments.

You usually have an appointment with the oncologist and then a planning appointment for your radiotherapy if you are having radiotherapy and it all seems to take time.

It was also suggested that I could have hormone therapy but as I am 65 I decided against that after discussions with the oncologist, he did say it only gave me another 1% against reoccurance and in my case I decided against it although had I been 25 years younger then I think I would have gone for it.

All the best

Jaye

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Jaye,

Yes I'm finding the under arm more uncomfortable than anything else but feeling ok and had a good sleep, I've been told it's tubular with a small area of low grade Dcis which I think kind of go hand in hand from what I've read, will be glad to get final results and know what happens from then on, do you mind me asking what treatment you had to have ? Love Jo x

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Jo

So pleased to hear all went well today, you will feel relieved that the op is out of the way - I know I felt a weight was lifted off me once I had the op out of the way.

Hope you aren't in too much pain, I was ok and didn't need to take hardly any painkillers at all.   I found the underarm to be more painful than the main breast area.

Keep us posted to let us know how you are.

I wasn't told mine was tubular until I went for my results a couple of weeks after. Before the op I had been told mine was ductal.

Best wishes Jaye

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Thank you Blossom, I actually feel so well and not at all how I expected, I was done and on my way home within 4 hrs! Relief to have to all over and not in any real discomfort but will continue to take pain killers anyway, looking forward to a totally relaxing weekend and being waited on hand and food my by lovely hubby, I so much appreciate the support everyone have given me on this forum Xx

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Jaye,

Thank you so much for your post, it's been so hard to find anyone going through the same thing and its so lovely to hear a year on you are doing well, I've had my WLE and SNB this morning and all went so much better than I was expecting and I was in and out within a few hours and feel remarkably well, mine was found four weeks ago by sheer fluke when I went to get another totally harmless lump investigated and by total accident while doing biopsy they learned through a harmless Fibrodonema and found the Tubular cells lurking on the edge , have been told so far from biopsy it's all very early stage grade 1 and totally treatable and today they have removed the harmless lump and fingers crossed a good clear margin, nodes all look clear from US so they don't exeoct to find anything in them although I understand they have to test them any way, feeling pretty positive now as have nothing but encouraging news all along but will be very relived to get final results in a couple of weeks, really appreciate hearing from you, mine name is Jo by the way, Kim is my middle name ️Xx

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Kim

Hope all went well today.

I was uncomfortable the evening of the operation but from the day after I have felt ok with not much use for painkillers, Have had dressings changed at home by early discharge team and all seems to be healing well - get them removed Monday, 10 days after operation.   I met my local breast cancer nurse on Tuesday or said I looked and was moving well.  I still feel quite odd as off work and having hair and beauty treats to pass the time, important to keep busy,  and dont really think that I have cancer and hope my results on the 8th April will not have any shocks in store. Let me know how you are doing. Take care Sarah

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Hi Kim

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow.

Just noticed you mentioned tubular cancer, I had WLE and SNB last March for tubular cancer which was picked up at a routine mammogram.

I still read the forums and as you say, tubular is quite rare and I haven't seen any other posts re tubular cancer

Good luck

Jaye

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

I am having this very same treatment tomorrow on a small area of Tubular cancer which im told is very rare.. Trust me! I'm having surgery straight after though thankfully so will all be done in one day, I've been warned about the blue wee,poo tears etc and will be incredibly relieved to have it all over and be home again by tomorrow evening, would be nice to hear from you lovely ladies as to how your recovery is going and hope you are both doing well, love Jo Xx

Re: Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Well done Blossom, make sure you do the exercises, they are so important. The dye will soon leave your body, except the blue boob, takes quite a while apparently. I had the same and very fortunate it hadn't spread anywhere else so I will start rads soon, everyday 3 weeks and taking anastrozole. Take it easy, plenty of rest and any help you need just ask the incredible ladies on this invaluable forum. Keep us updated lol xxxxx

Guide wire WLE and lymph nodes

Had operation on Friday to remove two small areas of IDC had guide wires put in in Thursday.  All went well and now recuperating and resting. Worse part was two appointments two hospitals had no details for me which added to the stress! Not too painful just badly bruised boob an shoulder a bit stiff but excercising. Been to the loo and poo is green but hoping this will get back to normal soon.  Feel quite normal really think they only removed the one node so hoping that is good news.  Had a nuclear science injection and scan day before. Hoping all will be good when go for follow up on 8 April think I will still need to have radiotherapy.  I know there are lots going through more than I have so wishing everyone the best. X
