Hi Jo
What you are feeling is quite normal, I think we all have ups and downs, it's such a rollercoaster ride. You will have felt great that the op is over and then our mind starts to think of the next step which is waiting for results.
Try to pamper yourself and recover from the op. No doubt you will have been given excercises to do, they really help to get the arm moving.
Everything sounds very possitive for good results as being tubular cancer it is usually slow growing and low grade.
All the best

Hi Jo
Glad to hear you aren’t feeling too bad.
I didn’t manage to get back to driving until just before 2 weeks after my op, thought I would do it in a week but mine was left side and there was no way I could manage the handbrake my arm just felt so weak – it soon improved though in a few weeks and was back to normal.
I was like you, had to go back 2 weeks after op for results. I was very lucky compared to a lot on here, I had a 9 mm lump removed with clear margins of 6mm and no lymph involvement.
I had to have 15 sessions of radiotherapy. I had my op on 4th March 2014 and my radiotherapy started on 13th May 2014 so there is still quite a bit of waiting around for appointments.
You usually have an appointment with the oncologist and then a planning appointment for your radiotherapy if you are having radiotherapy and it all seems to take time.
It was also suggested that I could have hormone therapy but as I am 65 I decided against that after discussions with the oncologist, he did say it only gave me another 1% against reoccurance and in my case I decided against it although had I been 25 years younger then I think I would have gone for it.
All the best

Hi Jo
So pleased to hear all went well today, you will feel relieved that the op is out of the way - I know I felt a weight was lifted off me once I had the op out of the way.
Hope you aren't in too much pain, I was ok and didn't need to take hardly any painkillers at all. I found the underarm to be more painful than the main breast area.
Keep us posted to let us know how you are.
I wasn't told mine was tubular until I went for my results a couple of weeks after. Before the op I had been told mine was ductal.
Best wishes Jaye
Hi Kim
Hope all went well today.
I was uncomfortable the evening of the operation but from the day after I have felt ok with not much use for painkillers, Have had dressings changed at home by early discharge team and all seems to be healing well - get them removed Monday, 10 days after operation. I met my local breast cancer nurse on Tuesday or said I looked and was moving well. I still feel quite odd as off work and having hair and beauty treats to pass the time, important to keep busy, and dont really think that I have cancer and hope my results on the 8th April will not have any shocks in store. Let me know how you are doing. Take care Sarah
Hi Kim
Hope all goes well for you tomorrow.
Just noticed you mentioned tubular cancer, I had WLE and SNB last March for tubular cancer which was picked up at a routine mammogram.
I still read the forums and as you say, tubular is quite rare and I haven't seen any other posts re tubular cancer
Good luck
Jaye
Well done Blossom, make sure you do the exercises, they are so important. The dye will soon leave your body, except the blue boob, takes quite a while apparently. I had the same and very fortunate it hadn't spread anywhere else so I will start rads soon, everyday 3 weeks and taking anastrozole. Take it easy, plenty of rest and any help you need just ask the incredible ladies on this invaluable forum. Keep us updated lol xxxxx
Had operation on Friday to remove two small areas of IDC had guide wires put in in Thursday. All went well and now recuperating and resting. Worse part was two appointments two hospitals had no details for me which added to the stress! Not too painful just badly bruised boob an shoulder a bit stiff but excercising. Been to the loo and poo is green but hoping this will get back to normal soon. Feel quite normal really think they only removed the one node so hoping that is good news. Had a nuclear science injection and scan day before. Hoping all will be good when go for follow up on 8 April think I will still need to have radiotherapy. I know there are lots going through more than I have so wishing everyone the best. X
