My wig dresser gave me a fantastic way of explaining hair loss to children - well I think its good.
The only outward sign the cancer is being killed is the hair loss.
He uses the idea of a computer game like pacman where the soldiers kill the baddies but also occassionally kill the ghosts the goodies, but the only way we can see that the medicine the doctos give us is working is that our hair gets killed like the ghosts and then we should be pleased as we are winning.
My 14 year old daughter appreciated the explanation as it helped her see it as a positive.
