I have invasive lobular cancer, sentinel node biopsy has come back positive, but as I am already being lined up for chemotherapy after mastectomy (and possible axillary lymph clearance), I am struggling to see the benefit of axillary clearance if the chemo is supposed to clear any metastases - why wouldn’t it clear any that might be present in the lymph closest to the tumour?
