After a mast and LD flap recon last July (expander), I was booked in this year to have my expander replaced with a permanent implant. The expander is very hard which is why I wanted it replaced. I was adamant I didn’t want an enlargement as really didn’t want my good breast to be tampered with and was concerned about loss of nipple sensitivity in that breast etc. However yesterday when I went in for my op, my surgeon told me they couldn’t replace the expander (which is very hard) with a perm one as they don’t make implants that small (I am 34AA), suggesting an augmentation on both sides.
What are people’s experiences of enlargement on their unaffected (ie healthy) breasts? Loss of sensitivity/ poor cosmetic result etc?
My surgeon has a good rep for being a perfectionist but I am angry that I had to actually turn up for my operation in order to find out.
