Having metal port on implant removed

Tomorrow I’m having the metal port removed from my breast implant so that I can have an MRI scan on my neck. It’s being done under general anaesthetic so I’m wondering how long it will take and what sort of stitches/ glue I’ll have afterwards. 

 

I asked these questions at my pre-op assessment three weeks ago and the nurse said she didn’t know. I’m dreading complications as I’ve had a lot of issues with the reconstruction surgery including a large necrosis on my back and inadequate pain relief in hospital.

 

At least I should be home the same day this time.

Hi Kitcat, I had this done with some nervousness after lots of complications in the past and it was fine. I was a bit sore but only needed paracetamol. I hope this reassures you. It will be a breeze in comparison with everything you’ve been through though I do understand it feels such a scary prospect when you’ve been through so much. Rattles x
