Hearing loss caused by E-CMF

Hi Steph

My hearing seems to have deteriorated in one ear since treatment. I had a hearing test and they said it was mild to moderate. I also have some kind of buzzing sometimes in my ear but I think I may have had that before the chemo too.

It doesn't bother me that much although I had noticed I kept saying 'what' to people a lot more and if I'm in a very noisey environment I find it harder to follow a conversation.

Hi again all,

My friend who has just completed e-cmf regime has become deaf in one ear. After seeing GP and having ears syringed, she was referred to a specialist who has diagnosed hearing loss due to the chemo that has damaged the inner ear - I can't remember which drug specifically. Thankfully, this seems to be a rare nasty permanent side effect, but obviously I'm concerned as I'm half way through the same chemo regime and already suffer from slight bearable tinnitus which, I suppose, could become worse. I haven't had a chance to speak to onc about it yet.

Anyone else suffered the same fate?
