Re: Heavy/full boob? Got myself in a state.

Hazel - really worrying but not surprising to hear that your GP didn't realise that pain can be a symptom with breast cancer! glad you got your dx and finished treatment.

Becker - sorry to hear yours looks like its cancer, and probably IBC. Do let us know when you get your results.

Taglagoon - waiting is always hard. I hope that your biospy results come back benign, and if not, that its not IBC. Again do let us know how you get on.

Re: Heavy/full boob? Got myself in a state.

I'm just waiting on biopsy results . I went to the docs as my boobs felt generally sore and heavy , with a constant stabbing pain in my left . A week ago at my breast check I had 2 mamos , ultra sound and 3 core biopsy of my left breast . I have thickening nodes 2 areas of concern . I've convinced myself it's not good news as my breasts feel different especially my left . I have a similar feeling in the right but they said my right was clear . The waiting for answers is driving me mad . Xx Jan

Re: Heavy/full boob? Got myself in a state.

Hi my symptoms were a heavy/full breast that felt a bit lumpy but no actual lump that I could feel or my GP after I went to her. She checked both breasts and said there were no lumps anywhere and as my breast hurt a bit she said it couldn't be cancer because there was no pain with cancer! She luckily referred me to breast clinic and I had mammogram, ultrasound and 2 biopsy and have just finished my chemo for ducttal BC. Have surgery and rads to come. I would advise if you think there is something wrong insist on getting checked at a clinic to put your mind at rest. Hope all goes ok and it is nothing to worry about.

Re: Heavy/full boob? Got myself in a state.

I have the same heavy, full breast feeling. Had been on hrt and decided to stop. One breast seemed to reduce in size and feel floppier, the other didn't. Went to GP who prescribed antibiotics for mastitis (no pain or redness by the way) but after full course
there was no change. Second visit to GP i was referred to breast clinic. I'm awaiting biopsy results but the consultant and radiologist were pretty sure I have inflammatory ductal cancer. Go back to your Gp and insist on referral. They are the only people that can give you a definite 'clear'. Good luck.

Re: Heavy/fullness - got myself in a state!!

I am not an expert, but I do have IBC, and your description sounds very unlikely to be anything to worry about. I would give it 2 weeks and if things feel worse and you are still worried go back to your dr and ask them to check it again. It could easily just be hormonal from your description.

Hi Anxious1

I'm sorry to read you're having such a worrying time.  Whilst you are waiting for the other user to reply with experiences and knowledge do give the BCC helpline a call on 0808 800 6000.  Here you are able to share your thoughts and concerns with a member of staff who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information.  Lines are open weekdays 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10to 2pm.

Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator

Heavy/full boob? Got myself in a state.

Hello - I wonder if anyone can help?

The last couple of days I have had an "odd" feeling in my right breast. It's not painful but kind of feels full or heavy. Not like when you breast feed though, I'm just kind of aware of it. My right boob is always slightly bigger than my left and hubby reckons there is no change.

There are no skin symptoms except for under my arm (kind if where breast turns into armpit) I have a purple scar from a boil which was active some months ago (red/angry, when squeezed blood came out) - I had antibiotics for the boil at the time and it's now just a small purple mark.

I do suffer from health anxiety so I'm very aware this could all be in my imagination - I've Googled and while most lists if symptoms do not mention heaviness the odd one does and I have worked myself into a state.

Is heavy/fullness possible as a lone symptom?

Edited to add: been to GP who says everything looks/feels normal - I was in a right state so she has increased my antidepressants.

I said you can't feel anything with IBC and she said you can. She says she saw/felt absolutely nothing to be concerned about and my anxiety is the issue not my breast.

But how do I know if she's right?
