How do you check yourself after a bilateral ?

Hi everyone

I had a bilateral mastectomy in May so I know it’s early days for me but one of the things I have pondered is this - how do I check for changes in my chest? We are urged to be breast aware but when there’s nothing left what do we do? Sorry to be dense but I don’t know who to ask.

thanks very much.

I have only had 1 boob removed, but when I go for my regular hosp check ups, they feel around the no-boob area, my arpits, other boob and clavical area. If I am lucky, I sometimes get my liver area prodded, though with all the fat, I’d be suprised if they could feel anything! Try asking your BC Nurse.
